Franklin & Bash: Season Three Renewal for TNT Series

Franklin and Bash on TNT season three renewalTNT is headed back to court. The cable channel has renewed their legal drama Franklin & Bash for a third season reports EW.

Franklin & Bash is a light-hearted legal drama that follows two fly-by-the seat-of-their-pants lawyers (Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer) who work at a button-down law firm. The cast also includes Dana Davis, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Kumail Nanjiani, Malcolm McDowell, and Reed Diamond.

The TV series premiered in June 2011 to 2.75 million viewers. The ratings went up and down over the course of the 10 episode season and the TV series ended up averaging 2.64 million viewers.

The show was renewed for a second season and that kicked off this past June. Over the course of the 10 episodes, Franklin & Bash averaged 2.88 million viewers. The final episode aired in mid-August.

While there was some season-to-season growth, Franklin & Bash remains one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted dramas, with viewership well below shows like Perception, Major Crimes, Dallas, Rizzoli & Isles, and Falling Skies.

In fact, it hasn’t done much better than HawthoRNe, a drama that TNT cancelled with a 2.37 million average.

Despite the low ratings, TNT has renewed Franklin & Bash for a third year. It’s not clear at this point how many episodes have been ordered or when they’ll air. Additional details are expected within the next couple days.

What do you think? Do you like the Franklin & Bash TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled instead of renewed?

Love this show, I dont watch it when it airs tho, i dont normally watch tv, I want till it goes to Netflix, or DVD so I can watch it all at once. Please don’t cancel Franklin and Bash!!

My husband and I love this show. It is fun to watch, and we like to see how the two lawyers get themselves out of difficult situations, not to mention help clients. It would be nice if TV and TNT could support more shows that take a lighter look at life, especially after the Boston bombings. We have enough weighty matters to see live. Please consider keeping this great ‘light touch’ and entertaining fare.

Instead of spending so much money on airing garbage, why not spend a little on promoting well written shows like this one? the only reason I see ratings low for a show as entertaining as this one is bad marketing!
