I really hope that Friday Night Lights is brought back for a sixth season or more seasons. I love this show! My entire family watches it. It’s not just about the highschool football story line either (as one magazine qouted was needed to keep the story line alive) that makes for good television. We like following the characters as they get older and the hardships they face, while following Eric and Tammy’s roles as highschool figures. I hope NBC and DirectTV reconsider letting this show go!

This show is amazing, one of the best ever on TV. I also 100 percent agree that this show would not be facing the problems it is today if it were to air on a different night!!
Its main audience is most likely those in their late teens to late 20s… viewers that are not likely to catch this show on a Friday night when they are probably aren’t sitting at home!! I have seen every episode up to date and have not watched a single one on TV… I first got hooked with a friend who had season 1 on DVD and I instantly bought season 2 myself on DVD. Ever since I have been watching it off the internet whenever the new episodes are released.

Bottom line is great show with real life interesting story lines that many people would love and really relate to if it just could get out to more people!!

I too love this show. NBC, please listen to your viewers. Name another show that has support and demand like this one. We are hungry for excellent television. Music, writing, acting, camera work, it is all there! Keep it going! If you want to save NBC, keep this show going beyond season 5 and make more shows like it. Do something right for a change!

It is on DirecTV channell 101. They are having a marathon on Saturday Feb.13th but I think it is only the last 3 episodes of season 4.
This is a great show. I agree 100% that it would work if it was on a different night. Friday just isnt a good night. Never has been.

Come on NBC…. Friday Night Lights is the best in television!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The directing and acting is AMAZING!! My husband and I are heart broken to hear there will be NO FNL after the 5th season. What are you people thinking???? You’ve got to rethink this,,,, there is No other show on that makes my family (teenagers included) gather around in the family room for a hour with NO interuptions and gets upset because the show wasnt long enough!

I love Friday Night Lights – I have never missed an episode. I cannot believe this show isn’t on a network station – it is a quality show with true values portrayed every episode. I thank NBC and Direct TV for not taking away my favorite show. There is a large group of us at the hospital I work at (I’m a pediatric nurse) and we all love it!

There are four seasons so far and yes, you can get the third season on Amazon and also on iTunes. The fourth season hasn’t been released yet. I am eagerly waiting. I don’t even like football and I am in love with this show! The directing and acting are the best I’ve seen in a long time.

Hey everyone, lets get on board with Brandon (ABOVE) and start letting NBC know to get this show back to us all, I agree with getting rid of Leno. As I said before if it was on another night I feel it would have better ratings, just because it had FRIDAY in the name doesn’t mean it has to be on that night. Just give it a try for this season and see what happens.

If no one knows what night the show will be on could it be moved to a night that will give it a chance to get some good ratings, if it was not on Friday nights it would have differant veiwers about the same age as the kids on the show. Also you all are telling us that it could be eight months before we can see this on NBC, sounds like NBC is trying to have the veiwers forget about this show, as the comments above I feel that Friday Night Lights have some great fans from around the world. This is a show that I look forward to every week when it is on so I will be waiting.

@Walt: The show’s production is being co-funded by DirecTV and NBC. For their money, DirecTV gets to air episodes first as an exclusive. Their hope is that fans will subscribe to their service, in part so they can see FNL early. If NBC aired it earlier or at the same time, there’d be no incentive for people to do that. If the deal doesn’t make money for DirecTV, they’re not going to help pay for the show and it would have been cancelled after year two.

Thanks Admin for the comment that we all are looking for. After reading the comments from the other watchers it doesn’t seem that waiting until next summer will make us like NBC much, why can’t it be shown any earlier? It does sound like this is a very much LIKED show and if it was in a differant time spot it will have better ratings. PLEASE give it a try for all of us watching NBC, you have some great shows, just keep it going.

Friday Night Lights is the awesomest show ever!!I wacthed all three seasons when last summer.When my aunt was wacthing the first one over and I was wacthing it with her and it looked pretty good.So everyday she went to work which was 3-9,I would put it in when she leaves the wacth it till she got home!!Finally I wacthed ALL three seasons and I was so mad Because I got in love with it!!And my favorite person on that show is Taylor Kitsch.Just because he’s soooo cute and he is a great actor in all his movie’s!!Well I just cant wait till the fourth and fith season comes out and I’m sooo glad I have diercTV.

I can not believe NBC is making us wait until next summer! I do not have Directv, just Comcast cable. FNL is one of the best tv drama’s since Law and Order, NBC – GET A CLUE. This is one of the best series on TV, not the crap of make believe reality or a stupid game show.

if you want a TV show to attract a younger audience, dont sked it for friday especially or saturday nights, even a show title Friday Night Lights. kids are looking to go out those nights, not sit home and watch TV.

According to the show’s Wikipedia entry, DirecTV will begin airing the new season 4 episodes on Oct. 26. And while, for season 3, NBC began airing the show in January 2009 after DirecTV’s run, the admin in the Oct. 5 comment above said that NBC will air the season 4 shows in summer 2010. Wow, that’s one long wait.

Ag-ge No! Is Friday Night Lights Ending? I am from South Africa, I followed FNL from Season 1, unfortunately I know a lot of people who follow this TV Show; it airs on Sundays @5pm, I usually watch it while getting ready for 6:30pm evening Church Service. I love Tami and Eric’s relationship, their daughter Julie and hope Matt and she reunites! Tim and Lyla are great together. Matt’s character is very decent and genuine. Is there no season 4? I am watching season 3 and watched the last episode where Tim and Lyla were arguing in the class hallways. I think people here loves it so much because we do not have American Footbal, but Rugby! Most South Africans are crazy about Rugby, for me I am not such a big fan!I LOVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL! I so wished when I was in School we had that American Football atmosphere! Followed by the Prom!I am very confused to read that the show is not as popular as I thought it would be in America! I have always dreamed of that American High School experience. The show should really get more exposure,maybe by casting a famous sportsperson or actor to play a small role or appear in a cameo role, could BOOST the audience viewers. Well, thank you NBC I have loved every second of FNL TV Show and are sad when the episode ends, think about the possiblilities of the next episode during the whole week and usually can’t wait for the next season to begin! Very excited when a new season starts! The characters are so real, the camers shots give such a factual feeling about the whole story. I enjoyed the movie and loved it so much too. Please Please NBC if you can consider making more seasons I JUST LOVE THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL STORIES! Ananda FNL #1FAN!!!

Is Friday Night Lights on the 101 this fall. I LOVE this show;watched it all last fall and then again in the spring. So much better than most of the shows on the big three networks. Just cannot understand why it has so much trouble attracting an audience, besides the fact it is given a crappy time slot. Thank goodness for Tivo~

I am 60 yrs old. To me, this is the best family show that I have every seen. I will never miss an episode. I just finished watching season 3 on DVD for a 2nd time. The writing and the characters are fantastic. Funny thing about this show and it’s the ‘Hook’, it’s about people’s lives and football is secondary. But I do live for the football sceens..

I agree with all the other watchers, this is the best show on TV when it’s showing. Can’t wait to watch the two new seasons, it’s just a BIG disappointment when the last show of the season airs and we have to wait and see if it will be continured. Not sure how NBC rates these shows but i think they need to get some differant raters. Is there anyway to get it on at the same time as DTV. Thanks for a great show NBC just keep it going.

FNL ROCKS!! My husband and I,our son in high school, our son in college (and ALL his friends) and even my in-laws watch this show! We love love love it, what we don’t like is that we have to wait until December to start viewing the season. It’s hard to avoid people that have Direct TV that talk about what’s happening though! Wish NBC aired first or have them air at the same time on both venues! That way people with DTV and Cable could all share in the awesomeness that is FNL!!

FNL is back! Wow, what a terrific birthday gift. After watching the past 4 seasons with my son, who was playing HS football for those same years, I have many fond memories of sharing the time with him and discussing the similarities betweeen the Dillon Panthers and his HS team. Watching the show has helped me understand the “mentality” of HS football just a little better. With the age of DVR and the technical capability of being able to record the shows enables us to watch whenever we can, I always wondered if they would have a greater following if the show came on a different night (i.e. most of the people interested in FNL are out at HS football games on Friday nights). Oh well, as long as it’s coming back, I don’t care which night it comes on. Love that Kyle Chandler!

Friday Night Lights Is one of the best family shows that have been aired in such a long time I can not even remember. Being single mother of 2 teenage kids, ( 1 son who is a football player and daughter who is football manager)We find ourselves living in the daily husle and busle, and caught up in no time for Family Time. In today’s society there is to much of this, and not enough family time. What Happen to Family values? This show has personally brought my family together where we can sit down and watch a show together and enjoy our “Family Time” Even If we know that we are going to miss an episode we Set the timer on the VCR and tape it and watch it later, all together!! I have purchased both of the previous seasons and we will still sit down and watch them over and over again!! I love this TV show and I am sadden to learn that there is only 2 more season’ left!!

This is one of the best shows on TV and I am so glad that it is being renewed. The cast is one of the best on the air and the stories are well crafted. It is such a treat to see a show about real life that doesn’t involve glorified violence and grizzly lab work on naked corpses. I think the reason it is not more popular is that it is not getting enough publicity. Put those cute people on some talk shows and see your ratings fly!

I knew about FNL because I met one of the writers when the series started. I was enthralled from Episode One and I agree that the show is about football, but it’s not. The characters make you love them from the beginning — all of them Each episode leaves you feeling like you LIVE in Dillon and really know the people. I will make sure I own every DVD of this series – no matter how long it lasts it will be one of my favorite series ever! Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Can’t Lose!

I can’t believe Network TV actually got something right. DVR viewership is hard to quantify but I guarantee this show is doing a lot better than the obsolete Nielsen Ratings clock it at.

I hope more people start watching the show. From the writing to the acting to the overall production value – this is one of the best shows on network TV in years. You don’t have to know or like anything about football to get absolutely sucked in to the perfect rendering of small town American life.

THANK YOU NBC! If what I am reading is true, I will be a loyal watcher.

I do want to say out loud though…the ratings ARE NOT everything and especially for a show that airs on Friday nights. I can’t be at home when it is on, but I DVR EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. I love the show. We also watch Ghost Whisperer…but again via DVR.

Friday Night Lights is a wonderfully written show and so believable. I live in Texas and grew up living that life…what they portray, well, it is real. We are a football state. I grew up in a school just like this. But whether you lived it or not, this show is so real…it touches to the heart of real life issues for both adults and kids.

I hope you are really keeping it on…because it is truly one of the best shows on tv…and if you’d advertise a bit more, you might get more people watching. Regardless, I’ve watched since the first episode and will continue to do so until the last…but let that be many season from now…please!
