I find it funny that if someone makes fun of another person race then it is funny but if you a person makes fun of his or her own race than that is the end of the world. Mr. Lopez took the stereotypes from all races that lived in America and made them funny while providing a lesson in his shows. Why does everyone have to hate, life is short worry about how you live it and not how everyone else does.

I thought the show was ridiculous. Lopez’s role was to act as chauvinistic as possible while still trying to be somewhat lovable. It was stupid. His “I Got This!” statements just showed the character to be shallow, uncompromising, and unwilling to accept his own human fallibility. Lopez is much deeper than they wrote him to be for this role, and as a proud Hispanic woman, I never took this show to be showing my race successful. There were always money problems, there was little to no focus on education, multiple members of the family were addicts or had learning disabilities…it was stereotypical BS, and I was so glad it was canceled. It’s good to see Lopez moving on to something where he has more creative control and he’s not the title character for the biggest racist show on TV since Archie Bunker retired his chair.

When I turned on my TV to watch THE GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW tonight to find The Simpsons; I was crushed. This show always gave me the belly laughs that made life bearable amid all the depressing stuff on the news. It also dealt with crucial family issues and marital issues that helped people improve their lives and their family life. It is a crime to cancel this show!! I’m a screenplay writer and a novelist; I know good drama and comedy when I see it and The Lopez Show combined the two, which is not an easy trick!

After reading every ones comments im disgusted by every one here. The show was funny we might not all agree on some things he might say or do but over all it was very funny. No not all hispanic families live that way its an over exaggeration in there part to make it funny, for people to be insulted by this is ridiculous. All comedians make fun of color, race, gays, you name it they make fun of it, its called comedy. Yes its insulting to some people but to others its funny its funny to those who have a sense of humor. People take what George Lopez said and continues to say to damn serious, its his job to make fun of everything possible specialy them touchy subjects. Weather your gay, straight, Democrat, Republican, white, black, brown, green, yellow, man, woman, it does not matter comedians are gonna make fun of you or some thing you might be or like. Its to bad the show was canceled it was funny, just like his on stage comedy. Yes he makes fun on people and calls them inappropriate names but its funny. Most of you people seem not to have a sence of humor. I dont think it was canceled do to racism, to many of you look for racism as the first thing to blame. Its all a business and he didnt get the ratings they needed to keep him on and thats to bad. Yes the changing of times for his show to start was dumb but hey some one in the network drop the ball on that one but i dont think it was racism. I only watched the first season of the show. While it was funny, I stopped watching it because to me, it wasn’t hilarious enough and representative of my Mexican culture and community. A middle-class family living in a gran suburban home with all the luxuries of live? I’m sorry, but I grew up in the ghetto or “barrio,” living in apartments, having my single mother work multiple jobs to feed her two children. As a child, I recall watching the black sitcom series “Good Times.” It was great…the family was working-class, living in an urban apartment setting. May Esther Role rest in peace. While I do believe ABC maliciously canned the show, I’m glad the way things turned out for Mr. López. I recently saw his HBO comedy special, “America’s Mexican” and was completely disgusted. He spent the entire half of the show berating gays by literally calling them “putos” or faggots. As a homosexual, this is unacceptable. My immediate reaction was to change channels but opted to continue to see how far this jerk would go. Also calling whites “putos” for using their Bluetooth mobile devices, walking their dogs, etc. I don’t need to be white to be offended by this. Why doesn’t he attempt to make a black joke? Because he’s not brave enough to. Things happen for a reason, I thank God his show was cancelled. The best of luck to the other 169 folks. I came upon this site looking for ABC’s address to send Mr. López a complaint letter informing him of his incompetence, bigotry, and how he had lost me as a fan. Unfortunately, I can’t do that now but I’m glad to hear this news…it’s rewarding.

My wife and I where already for “The George Lopez Show” this fall then I had noticed that it was not scheduled I went online and was shocked to what I had found. Canceled and my wife and I had just been talking about how funny the last season was. And yes it does suck that cavemen are coming to the air that is so not right. George and Cast my family and I will forever miss the show and yes at lease ABC could have had a good-bye season. As did CBS for “The King of Queens” they had gone out in style and respect. ABC is low and unfair to their sitcoms at lease let them go out in style and pride. Espeacilly the long running shows. Shame on ABC!!!

I loved watching George Lopez on
TV to bad they are canceling it.
I’m half white and half asian but I can still relate to pretty much everything that happens in this show. The made a huge mistake replacing this show with Cavemen. This show is also pretty educating. They really need to restart making it. If they do I’ll watch it and alot of other people will watch it to.

George Lopez brought a lot back to the Latino’s and he makes us proud. I agree with him a cave man taking over his show is pretty sad. A lot he had done for this show I can relate to it. What can we do to help this show go on even though its a little late of it being cancell now.

I’m glad that show was cancelled. Frankly, the subtle latino-centric racism of the show was too much. I find it interesting that a lot of the folks posting on here claiming racism end their rants in “vive [insert generic identifier for latino]“. Such a mindset is truly racist in itself; it cannot see beyond language and skin color. It is a shame when a great & funny show like George gets cancel for some commerical base tv show like the caveman. In my eyes, George Lopez one of the funniest men on television today and for ABC to cancel his show, goes to show you how racist they can be.They did it with D.L Hugely’s show,even though they were picked up by another tv station and they did it with Damon Wayans’show. It goes to show you no matter how well a ethnic show does on ABC,they always find a reason to replace it. I have nothing against that caveman commerical,I think its funny(for a commerical), but let’s leave it at that.When I first heard that ABC was making the commerical into a show,I thought they were crazy and I don’t think it going to last on the air for long. George Hernandez is a Big Great, a lovely hero to us Chicanos. He paved the road, even more so that all the other Chicanos who slid in by having Anglo names and Anglo looks. George kept his Mexican name and proved to the world, with wit, that Mexican Americans are just normal people, some educated, some not, but definitely a big boast to all the Mexican community–he is dark, funny, smart and I truly believe, a real asset to all. I anxiously awaited every new episode and was left clamoring for the next season after the cliffhanger at the end of the seasons. ABC is making the biggest mistake ever cancelling this show, it was pure gold. George Lopez is a great comedian and person, best of luck. VIVA LA RAZA!!!

i dont want to believe that geroge lopez is going off the air ,i will not watch cavemen on tv ,i have a feeling cavemen show will not last but one if at lucky one season,i mean come on we are not in the 70s decade ,for a production to go on with these dumb geico cavemen is ludacris and seems ridiculous as well ,i say let geroge lopez in one more season pleas ,from a true fan , i will say this as well to all dedicated fans of geroge lopez stop watching abc

I was devastated to learn that the George Lopez Show was being cancelled and find it degrading that it’s being replaced by “cavemen”. I am a latina & share the same lingo & morals. I usually don’t make time to watch tv but certainly fit this show into my schedule. I remember how excited I was to discover this hip, English-speaking show that I could relate to. I will miss the George Lopez show and wish the cast the best of luck.

I am really upset and sad about the George Lopez cancellation, My mother and I loved the show, After a hard day at work, the show really picked up my spirit. It was a show that I could dear watch with my family, And If ABC really cares what the veiwer think, I would bring the show back, and as for watching ABC, there’s really nothing worth my wild to whatch, I’m sure if all latinos stop whatching ABC ,the ratings for ABC will go so low that the show will return, remember Los latinos somo mucho, viva los latinos! In response to Shiloah T King, cancelling the show was racist. How many shows have been cancelled all of a sudden , out of the blue in the middle of a story line? Did you see “Friends” get cancelled this way? This show was moved around so many times that it’s viewers would not know when it was on and when it wasn’t. This show was supposed to start in Sept. like the rest but was not started until Jan. and was basically unannounced. You had to search for the information. Then they would try new shows in it’s time frame. The ultimate was putting it opposite American Idol. Funny how the show began at around the same time American Idol did. It is so obvious what they were trying to do. So they blame it on low ratings, of course they will blame it on low ratings. My guess is, your not chicano, so you don’t get it. You will never get it. But this was our show, a show we were proud of. A show that made us laugh and represented us. It brought in our actors and our stars like Oscar De La Hoya, Los Lobos, Edward James Olmos and the list goes on and on. This show was growing , this show was beginning to have an influence in our culture and that is what got to them. They couldn’t have that, so they played with us. most importantly they played with George Lopez and he is a good man, but what goes around comes around. George is on to bigger and better things, where one door shuts another opens and ABC was not good enough for him.

I am really upset about the George Lopez cancellation. There are alot of our favorite shows who have chose to end due to a long great run. To us, there are only a FEW good sitcom type shows left. Monday night is a favorite for sitcoms and also love According to Jim. Sorry for George and his crew. A GREAT SHOW and will be missed.

It’s not fair to have the Black Showes run on and on and not give the American Mexican a show to enjoy. Why do we have to wait for good solid showes for us. I do not watch the Mexican speaking showes. I am American, my family was living in california and the border was formed. My family does not speak spanish. There are alot of people like myself that enjoy television. You need to give everyone a venue to watch not just the White’s and the Black’s. We out number you. We spend money on products that we see during commercials that are in English. Give us our chance. We need to give our children a chance to learn like the other children of the U.S.A. We are americans and 1/2 of us are Native of this land.

It is a shame that George and his family will not be on anymore. The show was so true to the mexican/hispanic lifestyle. It was not exagerated in anyway even from my female point of view. I watched knowing that somewhere during the program I would be taken back to my childhood and have a good laugh. Continue on George, don’t let them get you down. Vive la raza!!!

I watched The George Lopez show a couple of times and it was alright. I think the “white People” remark was over the edge. Just because you had bad ratings is not anyones fault except ABC and George Lopez himself. We are all adults and face many tribulations and failures in life. Please stop race bashing because your show failed.
