Fans of actress Dawn Wells were shocked to learn that she was recently arrested in a traffic incident in Idaho.
On the evening of October 18, 2007, the actress who played Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island was stopped after a sheriff deputy noticed Wells’ car swerve in the road. Upon a search of the car (which Wells consented to), the deputy found a small amount of marijuana.
Wells claimed that she had been trying to work the heater in the new car and that the drug was not hers. A friend subsequently testified that he had left the substance in the auto after using it earlier in the day.
The media is having a field day with the idea of sweet Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island being caught with a “Mary Jane.” As a result, Wells and her lawyer Ron Swafford tried to set the record straight on Entertainment Tonight. Take a look.
