As we reported here, the fate of CW’s popular drama Gilmore Girls is still up in the air. Though many believe that the current season hasn’t measured up to past years’ episodes, a lot of fans don’t want to let it go just yet. From all accounts, the CW would like to bring it back but at various times the two Gilmore girls (Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel) have expressed interest in moving on to do other things.
Now, word has leaked out via TV Guide that negotiations have taken a very interesting turn. According to Gilmore sources, just a day before the wrap of season seven, Graham is allegedly warming to the idea of returning for an eighth season – albeit a shortened one. This news comes just a week after the news that Graham asked for changes to be made on significant season finale scenes.
There’s no word on Bledel’s feelings on returning for another 13 episodes but an abbreviated season could be an ideal solution for both actresses. This would give the producers time to wrap up any loose storylines but wouldn’t present as large of a commitment from the actors who want to do other projects.
For now, the season finale (possibly series finale) will air on May 8th. Rory’s longtime idol, CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour, will have a cameo. We should know the show’s fate either before that date or shortly thereafter. Stay tuned!

I love, love, love the Gilmore Girls and I agree with the others one more season at least will be wonderful. I know that Lauren and Alexis want to do something different but the are fantastic actresses, I have seen other movies that they did and they were great. I honestly dont think one more year or season will set back their careers. They are two very brilliant and talented actresses. As a matter of fact the entire cast was well chosen.
Please let an eigth season go on !! I am currently waiting to view season 7 but know I’ll want to see season 8 (if you make one) ……
omg!! please another season og gg, or even a movie. if anything they should do a movie. i think it would be in everyone’s best interest to do a movie. ,they should pull a sex in the city.

hey I LOVE the gilmore girls and would love to see another series, i really want to see rory and logan get back together once rorys got a career and i def want to see more of lorelai and luke being happy together… please just tie up those loose ends. i love it.. the GG has got me through some real tough times and i miss it so much. i completely understand that the actors want to pursue their careers but please just finish the series off. i know iv said this but I LOVE THEM…………………..

i know that both lauren and alexis want to move on and do other things. alexis was great in the Sisterhood movies, but a reunion movie would be cool. it would just tie up all the loose ends and prove that Rory and Logan were meant to be together. please make a movie! (but could u please make it where all the original cast would be in it) after that we will all be quiet and let go of our Rory Logan Luke Lorelai moments… because we will know it was all meant to be and it had a happy ending!
