Actor Cory Monteith, best known for his role as Finn Hudson on FOX’s Glee, has died at the age of 31. His body was found in a Vancouver hotel room last night. He was just 31 years old.
Police have said that the cause of death was not immediately apparent but they have ruled out foul play. An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.
Monteith recently completed a stint in a drug addiction treatment facility. He started using drugs at age 13 and entered rehab for the first time at 19.
Choreographer and director Adam Shankman worked with Monteith several times on Glee told CNN that he had talked to the actor on the morning of his death. He called Monteith the glue of Glee, said that he was always very welcoming to newcomers, knew his lines and congratulated fellow cast members when he thought they’d done well.
Shankman also said, “I had several interactions with him yesterday where he said that he was doing amazing. He even said “I am feeling fantastic.” I’m like everybody else, really devastated and confused by what happened.”
What do you think? Do you have any favorite scenes or songs of Monteith’s from his work on Glee? How do you think they should handle his passing on the show?
