The ratings for FOX’s Glee series have been dropping for awhile. Will they fall low enough to see the TV series cancelled? That’s the real drama.
These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Glee is going to be cancelled or renewed for season five.
The fourth season of Glee typically airs Thursday nights at 9pm on the FOX network. The large cast includes Amber Riley, Chord Overstreet, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Dianna Agron, Harry Shum, Heather Morris, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Mark Salling, Matthew Morrison, and Naya Rivera.

On a new night, with only medium competition, the fourth season premiere of Glee was down significantly year-to-year. In the demo, the series was down by 23% (vs a 4.0 rating) and was down by 20% in total viewers (vs 9.21 million). On their own, the numbers are still very good but one has to wonder how they bode for the rest of the season.
Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.31 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Glee TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?

You guys are behind the times. It was announced last week that it’s been renewed for two more years.
It was announced two weeks ago and is noted as an update in the post — between the ratings for episodes 19 and 20.
go ahead and cancel..the show was cute and quirky at first..now is nothing but a bunch of underaged, oversexed teens jumping in and out of bed and and the new characters are tiresome
this show really sucks cancelled it
I want a 5th season only to allow the show to redeem itself. This season has been so terrible I’d hate for Glee to go out on a whimper. Give us a season 5 that equals season 1 and 2 and then end the show. It’s the least you can do to us poor fans who keep hanging on solely based on how good the show use to be.
This just in – According to Wetpaint today, Glee has been renewed for a 5th and 6th season.

PLEASE RENEW!
Sue is the only reason I watch. She has been on, I think that’s why the show dropped!
I am on edge since Glee still has not been renewed which is difficult since it doen’t look promising…I love Glee, but I only really watch it for Lea, Chris, Cory ( the original cast). I would love NYC focus. These actors and actresses are so talented and will continue to dazzle us in other projects…but I am devoted and want to see S5!!
please renew for a 5th season… i really love the show and i will continue to watch it.
i love the show and will continue to watch it
