Fran Drescher is back on television after spending many years as The Nanny. On Happily Divorced, she’s playing Fran Lovett, a Los Angeles florist whose husband Peter (John Michael Higgins) comes out of the closet after 18 years of marriage. They amicably divorce but, because of the economy, they must continue to live together in their house. Fran is back on the singles scene and so is her ex-husband. The TV Land sitcom also features the talents of Tichina Arnold, Rita Moreno, Valente Rodriguez, Robert Walden, and D.W. Moffett.
Happily Divorced was renewed for a second season of 12 episodes and those started airing in March. TV Land later increased that order to 24 installments and the remaining 12 are expected to air sometime this fall.
Meanwhile, the first season of Happily Divorced has been released on DVD

Loved Fran in the Nanny and her supporting cast as well. Watched reruns of it over and over. Happily Divorced is every bit as fun and entertaining. I love the whole cast, too. Please keep Fran for a long, long time. She’s my all-time favorite comedic actress, and a lovely person. Hope I win the dvd, too.
