Loved Hapers Island!!!!! need to bring it back.I am so tired of getting a new show and it getting canned by CBS (moonlight,three rivers,Harpers island) I really wish they would quit cancelling the shows I love!!instaed they keep making changes and they arent any good ie. “medium,the ex list btw it didnt last long shoulda kept moonlight,swingtown,the unit and another one of my favs “without a trace” I cant even get use to a new show the last 2 years its been an ever changing line up on CBS…get it together…seriously!!!!

I just watched the whole series on Netflix and was sad that I didn’t know about it while it was on TV. I would of watched it then, and I know a lot of my friends would have too, but sadly we had no clue. Like someone else said there is nothing else like this on TV and I’d love to see it brought back with a new cast, new mystery, for a season 2. If CBS doesn’t want to do that then sell it to the CW, who has a young audience, and this show would most likely be a huge hit there. If they would of advertised the show more I believe more people would of watched it. I love this whole concept that after 13 weeks the killer is revealed but what is stopping them from starting over with a new cast? If they don’t revive this show, they should start making more shows like this. I can’t get enough of movies like this and usually movies like this are popular so why wouldn’t TV shows be? I say let every network have a murder mystery series. Ever since I watched the show, nothing else seems worth watching. I know there’s a show coming out on ABC called Happy Town that seems like it will be a lot like HI, so I hope so….I have even tried finding movies like HI and so far I can’t find anything I haven’t already seen.

I really lived the series and I wish CBS would make more Murder Mysteries because it is different than anything else is on TV. I know the ratings were bad but is there any chance of CBS doing another show along these lines?

This show became very good about half-way through (and the bloodiest show I’ve ever seen on network TV…but I loved it!). Trouble is, I don’t think CBS knew who this show was for or how to market/advertise it. The online webisodes are just stupid and the constant moving and hiatus of the show ruined any chance of another mystery next year. Hopefully the DVD sales will be good enough to maybe have another mystery next summer. I could do with a smaller production budget as long as the writers focus on removing any clunky logic that may have marred the show this year. I have to say, though, that this show was great fun…missteps and all.

What”s with these networks, get you interested in these shows and then stop in the middle of the series and say to bad suckers you can’t see the rest.
I liked Harpers Island, to bad it was going against playoffs and such.

I think it is awfull to take a show that all is into and just let the viewers who are watching it get to finish watching the last of it . I did not expect much from this series when I first heard about it, but I decided to watch the premier anyway.

I was quite surprised how interesting the story and characters were. I quickly became hooked and was looking forward to upcoming episodes and even visited the Harper’s Globe parallel websites.

I realized that this particular story could not go on for multiple seasons but hoped that this might be a reoccurring spring/summer program idea of a murder/horror mystery show.

But once again another halfway decent show bites the bullet and I am sure we will get more unwatchable crap like Big Brother. I actually thought this show might appeal to that younger audience that CBS seems so desperate to grab.

I need to stick to watching cable. At least when they roll out a series they seriously stand behind it.

My husband and I love the show . We have family and friends who are really into Harper’s Island. I hope CBS WILL finish out the episodes and not leave 4 million plus fans hanging. Reality is all over the tv. It is nice having a great murder mystery., Sometimes we need a break from reality.

We want to see “who dun it?” in the end :-0

The moral of this story is: Don’t complain if after the tenth time you put your hand on a hot stove you get burned (AGAIN!!). CBS execs have for several years shown such disdain for their audience that perhaps that audience will start to return the favor when this Fall’s new season starts up. Why do they even bother with series dramas?CBS, please, turn your attention this fall to reality, contest, and game shows. and leave narrative TV to ABC, NBC, and basic cable. There is much money to be made in reality shows about compulsive shopping, mud-wrestling, and competitive breast augmentation.

I love CANE it vanished after a shooting…I love MOONLIGHT they cancelled it right after the vampire and the human “Got together” and now Harper’s Island!! You can’t cancel it now we watched all the murders and now it’s getting to the run and hide part, then the killer will be revealed!! The television networks are going to run themselves out of business. Why bother to watch any new series when you don’t know if it will be dropped in the middle and just leave viewers hanging. People are going to get to the point to just wait for the dvd to catch up if a series is picked up. That’s why the numbers are down on these shows. Thank you! My thoughts exactly! I remember when American Gothic was doing better in the ratings than CBS’s beloved Picket Fences, so how did they repay Gothic???? They pulled it from the schedule! Then they rescheduled the last handful of episodes in such a way that I ended up missing the finale.

They did the same thing to Wolf Lake a few years back, and who can forget how they destroyed their suprise hit Jericho by putting it on hiatus for half a season after a very successful fall run!

Typical CBS.. Years ago.. Magnificent Seven was a fabulous new western that everyone had been wanting. Nothing of the like in forever on TV. A couple of 2-parters separated by weeks on end and during basketball season and the Olympics, they tossed that show about like a rag doll. Fast forward to Moonlight. Again, they couldn’t get rid of that show fast enough, all for the love of another reality show. Moonlight was new, dark and was a great followup after Ghost Whisperer. Come full circle and we have Harper’s. Fantastic show, it isn’t homework people, it’s entertainment. I screamed when Harry Hamlin’s character went out like that. Terribly shocking yet obviously the kick in the pants that television needs these days. I can do without one more.. “Finding love for Some Loser Rapper”, or “Get on the bus or the backseat with another aging ex Rock Star” or one more “Temper tantrum throwing/ cooking/ modeling / hairdresser/ stranded island diva”. Give me entertainment people, something to whisk you away for an hour or two, a good whodoneit! CBS is bad, but don’t forget FOX.. King of the “Hey watch this it’s FANTASTIC.. Ooops.. sorry you only get to see 7 episodes. We have ADD!”

They kept touting it in commercials, got us mystery buffs hooked, and then no show, no mention of when it would next be on (or not)! I agree with some others that not all of us want to watch survivor and other reality shows. We need to see the rest of the episodes!

I love this show. The only reason I watch it (again) online is so I can remember all that happened when I’ve enjoyed my wine a little too much. This is like the Stephen King mini-series a few years back. I don’t watch reality shows. CBS execs suck if they think we love reality shows. My kids (tween girls) are even hooked on the show and no they aren’t going to grow up to be some crazed mass murderers.

CBS is notoriously unloyal to its fans…anyone old enough to remember American Gothic, pulled after 1 season, leaving fans hanging? Same with Joan of Arcadia…after 2 seasons and also leaving fans with a clifhanger, they decided they needed to go after a younger demographic (those watching were the 40+…hello? Who else is watching TV on a Fri night?) JOA was replaced with Ghost Whisperer, and CBS couldn’t have been happier that their demographics were the 40+! Don’t get it. I was also sad to see Life on Mars cancelled after one season, but at least ABC got it right and filmed its final show with everything answered.

I started watching the “Mentalist” replacement and found that a stupid concept which I doubt has more appeal than a blood and guts slasher series like “Harper’s Island. When are tv network people going to realize that not every show can be the number one show in ratings. And a show like this is more likely to get TiVo’d or watched online and may not get the almighty “ratings”. If you take it off the air and not let it finished, you are going to just make viewers angry and less likely to take a chance on another new show for fear of not having it survive either. Apparently there are a “few million” people watching the show, I would think that counts for something! Let us see it to the end. So it’s cheesy, we know that and watch anyway, that’s the whole point!!! Don’t risk losing viewer loyalty, you may regret it in the future. And put it back on Thursdays, more likely watchers there!!

When I found out that the show may be cancelled, I was very disappointed. I watched the show from the beginning and it’s only fair to keep it on to the end. Maybe the ratings went down because it went from thursday night to saturday……….In all honesty, there are alot more other shows that should be taken off ( I don’t understand how some last as long as they do) Besides, all of these reality shows that are on are getting to be a bit much. This “mystery” series is kind of neat !

At least finish the season, so the viewers know who the killer is. I know we got a glimpse of him in the last episode, but what’s his story? Also, just because the ratings were dropping it does not mean people were not interested. Since full episodes are available online it just means people can watch their favorite shows whenever they want! I guarantee in the next few years tv viewers for all shows, good or bad, will decline and more viewers will be watching episodes online!

We were promised a beginning and an end to this show. That is why I started watching it. Now maybe we won’t have an ending. Do publishers leave out the last chapter of a book if it isn’t selling well. TV execs don’t care a hoot about the viewer only the sponsers.

We are disappointed to see that Harper’s Island is not going to be on this Saturday.
My hubby & I have enjoyed watching it since it started.
We agree the acting is not as good as good as it could be but the story line is good & very suspenseful.
Sure hope CBS is planning to keep it going for at least this season & not leave us hanging without an ending & let us in on “who done it”

I agree that it would have been better to put it on in the summer when there isn’t anything else on. Much of the summer stuff if absolutely junk, so this would be a nice option.

This show is truly awful but it should at least be played out until the end. We were excited about watching it but could barely get through the first episode. It seems we weren’t the only ones. A piece of advice to the grossly overpaid tv folks who thought this show was a great idea: hire some decent writers and actors and give us something of quality next time. We have harpers island parties to watch every new episode and though I was extremely disappointed that it got bumped to Saturdays I was at least relieved CBS promised to finish airing the season. If they back out on their promise I swear I am DONE with CBS for good! I know so many people who love this show and will be crushed if we don’t get to see the rest of the season.

Will you please finish the whole series before cancellation? I would like to see who is the killer before axing it off the air. I don’t think this series was given a chance. I think it should only air during the summer season while all the other series are on hiatus or even better yet move it to a cable network like TBS, TNT or how about Lifetime? Just a suggestion but please air the rest of the episodes so the fans can get closure.

I’m really starting to hate this network.Why would they stop showing a show half way through and not let the viewers know how it ends.There is never anything good on Sat nights,it has to be one of the worst for watching tv.Why don’t they just leave it on Thursdays.Not all shows can get excellent ratings.I don’t know about anyone else but I can only watch one program at a time.

Damn. I thought CBS promised to air all 13 episodes. I would have never started watching if I thought CBS wouldn’t give us the resolution to the mystery.

This is exactly why no one is watching shows like this. Why would you start investing time in a mystery storyline when you’re nearly sure it will just be canceled before you get to see how it plays out?

Well I can’t stand the show but my wife loves it. She had no idea it had moved to Saturday, so that could help explain why the ratings dropped. The networks need to give a show more than 2 weeks to try and survive.
