After becoming an almost immediate hit for NBC in Fall of 2006, Heroes dropped significantly in the ratings over the past couple seasons. Fans have complained about the storylines but the TV show has been one of the network’s biggest draws in the 18-49 demographic. NBC has opted to cancel it anyway.
Heroes follows a group of ordinary humans who have developed extraordinary powers that end up affecting their lives in positive and negative ways. The series’ large ensemble cast includes Adrian Pasdar, Ali Larter, Cristine Rose, Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, James Kyson Lee, Masi Oka, Milo Ventimiglia, Robert Knepper, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Zachary Quinto.
The network had reportedly been considering three options to wrap up Heroes — a 13 episode order for mid-season, an order of four to six episodes that could be aired over a couple nights in the fall, or to just cancel the series outright.
Though Heroes still brought NBC some its better 18-49 ratings this season, the numbers just can’t justify costs with a sizable cast and special effects budget. The network has a large selection of new hour-long dramas to choose from and so, has decided to cut Heroes.
On the bright side, NBC is supposedly working on a plan to wrap up the series. Right now, it sounds like there will be a two or four hour event that will air mid-season. The details will revealed at NBC’s upfront presentation on Monday morning.
Over the past day or so, Grunberg has been tweeting and hinting that “the fat lady” was getting ready to sing. As the news broke of Heroes’ cancellation, he wrote, “I’m hearing The FAT LADY singing her ass off!!! #Heroes = Cancelled! Sad. BUT… W/bad news comes GOOD!! My Next Tweet will explain!!” Three hours later, and Grunberg still hasn’t tweeted again.

Please bring back season 5 and finish the series, you left us all hanging, pleeeeeeeezzzzzzeeeeee.
Why in the world would you leave us, the viewers hanging. I have watched all 4 seasons at least 3 times because I love the show and its not over..Again Why would a directors stop here. You could at least make a movie version to finalize the show..this is a great show, one of it kind and I loved it. a lot of people enjoyed this show.
Is there any way or in the near future that they will continue Hero’s? I hope so

Frankly, I don’t blame them for canceling it. It totally sucked after that 1st season. The way it ended in season 4 was fine. Even though they said ‘to be continued’ my imagination can come up with something better for Brave New World than another crappy season from those writers.

Heroes series should go on. You can’t end series 4, with an ending saying to be continued. This was a very good series to watch and it would be sad to go with out a final ending. This show is popular on Netflix and should continue, as a matter of fact it scored high ratings. This series needs to continue and NBC needs to reactivate it and allow the directors to continue working on the rest of the series. NBC sucks if they don’t continue the rest of the programs.
I am disappointed that Heros was canceled and hope very much to see the show return with the same characters to at least give us a better going away series — I mean come on what happens next you can not just leave us hanging

I’m a big super hero fan.. This is the best hero t.v series I have ever seen.. NBC also had the cape, which was another great show even though many didn’t think so.. It only lasted ten episodes.. Any ways, heroes was the best t.v series.. I really wish the online comics would hit shelves, then maybe we could get some kind of closer.. I mean when you think about it we kinda do already, considering they aired the episode of what happened when Nathan said he had powers.. Then Clair became evil and such, and I really think that they should use that to their advantage, and recreate the series.. The last season really wasn’t to great i will agree, but it should not change the fact that it was a great show, and had some of the biggest ratings that NBC has ever seen.. I really dont see why that would cancel this great show.. I mean what other NBC show had it’s own action figures, online comics, and one of the worlds biggest fan base… NBC really needs to wake up, and see how good they have it with this show..
Best show I ever seen wish it continue
This is one of the best shows I’ve ever ever seen. I sure hope that one of the stations pick this show up. Any station that does will have avid members paying just to watch it. The complexity of the characters along with the rich story line makes this one of the best bets for any station to grab. It’s AWESOME !!!!
Wish it wasn’t canceled
If they shot the unaired episodes before they canceled the show they could at least offer to sell them on dvd to their fans. It would at least give closure to the series!!!
BEST SCI-FY show ever! Just watched all four seasons in the last month. Much better than Fire Fly. Did not know the show was on the air in 2006. Again, I Love Hereos!!!

omg!! it took me a while to watch the show even though I’ve wanted to, but I don’t watch much tv. i just watched all 4 seasons in the last week and i think there should be another full season at least but I’d like more seasons to follow. I love Heroes!!!
I just watched the entire series and fell in love with all the characters,even Sylar! I love the stories behind all the characters and want to know what happened after Claire did what she did. It just kills me they were developing all these characters(Sylar becoming a hero, Claire and Noah repairing their father/daughter relationship,Claire and Gretchen, Peter accepting Nathan’s death and forgiving Sylar,Emma and Peter, Hiro and Charlie) and then POOF…cancelled…They could have drawn out any one of these story lines.
