Hostages: Season One Ratings

Hostages TV show on CBS: canceled or renewed?CBS is advertising Hostages as a “limited series” with 15 episodes. If the ratings are poor, will it be cancelled before they all air? Or, if it’s a big hit, will they find a way to make a second season? Time will tell.

On Hostages, the lives of a prominent surgeon’s family are threatened by terrorists who want her to kill the President of the United States. The cast of this thriller includes Toni Collette, Dylan McDermott, James Naughton, Rhys Coiro, Billy Brown, Sandrine Holt, Tate Donovan, Quinn Shephard, and Mateus Ward.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/10 update: CBS has officially cancelled Hostages after one season and 15 episodes.

Final season averages: 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.09 million total viewers.

These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the Hostages TV series? Do you think it should end after one season or return with the same or different characters?

we LOVE this show. They could start next season with another story line and end it by completing the story like this year. Loved the way it ended too! Way to go!

Sure hope this series comes back-we really enjoyed it a lot…looked forward to it every week. With so much junk on tv we found ourselves drawn to Hostages. Just when you thought you could predict what was coming, there was a surprise twist…hopeful for another season…

This is one of the best shows that I’ve seen since ” 24 ” on FoxTV. Wonderful plot and actors. Please do not listen to the negative people giving their opinion of the show. This is a show that keeps a person screaming at the television of the happenings of the events of the show. Please give ” The Hostages ” a second season.

I agree. I thought about ’24′ on fox tv. Just like watching 24, it kept me hoping for Monday night to come.

This show has been a good drama with good acting and actors. It would be nice to see it continue but based on the final episodes it appears that the die is cast as all loose ends have been tied.

The real reason this show’s gonna get cancelled is ’cause the premise was preposterous. Sexual tension with Dylan & Toni, after he & his cohorts level a gun to her children’s skulls…? And, how ’bout the neighbors? Oh, I forgot, these folks live in a vacuum on their street, even if Toni’s to perform open surgery on a sitting President of the United States… Give me a break.

Keep your promise of a one season show. It IS a great to drag it on will make it less great. How can you not jump the shark when it was planned as a one season show.

Another one of my favorite shows going down the tubes. This show is exciting and intriguing. I loved from day one. I guess it boils down to the season finale on Jan. 6th. My Birthday!! Maybe, my birthday will bring this show good luck!! If not so be it. I love Dylan Mcdermott. He was a great actor on the practice. My mom and dad love this show also. It maybe hard to keep this show going but, my dad has good ideas to keep going for another season. My dad should be the producer. If he can think to save the show then you can cbs. Hostages for another season, think about it. You could be saving another fantastic show.

Hostages is one of the best dramas on TV. It is more like premium tv instead of regular broadcast tv. It will be a big mistake for the network to cancel this show. I predict this show can be one of the best of all time if you keep it on the air. Think about it.
