April 1, 1960 was the last broadcast for the cast of the show. The show, the Luci-Desi Comedy Hour, ended the 9-year run of I Love Lucy. The actors all went their own ways, never to reappear again as a cast. Frawley died in 1966, Vance 1979, Arnaz 1986 and Ball in 1989.

Frawley was with My Three Sons from 1960-1965, Vance with Ball on her post-ILL series, Arnaz was pretty much out of acting excepting a handful of guest roles on shows, such as The Mothers-In-Law (1969). Ball, of course, had 3 shows (The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy and Life with Lucy). The only other principal, Richard Keith (Little Ricky) left acting while still a child, not long after the show ended in 1960.

Viewers back then never had a chance to see this group acting together again. No where.

Which is why I feel, strongly, that the Seinfeld cast should get together and do a few 'bone to crowd' specials before they, too, start passing on. Then at least the viewers of our generation will have some idea of what happened to our 'heroes' as time passes on.

Hard to believe, just a few weeks ago, that the last Lucy show left regular broadcasts 50 years ago. Seinfeld, itself a big rerun record holder, has been off the air for 12 years next month.
