Intelligence: To Be Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

Intelligence: canceled or renewed?CBS kept Hostages on the air even though it became obvious that it was doomed to be cancelled after one season. How has Intelligence fared? Will it suffer the same fate or will it be renewed for a second season instead?

On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Josh Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.

Debuting on a Tuesday night in January, sandwiched between NCIS and Person of Interest, Intelligence’s first episode drew a very healthy 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 16.49 million viewers.

Unfortunately, most of those viewers didn’t return for the second episode the following Monday. That attracted just a 1.2 in the demo with 6.2 million, a decline of more than 50%.

The numbers have risen and fallen since then but have generally been moving downward. Last week’s episode tied a series low in the demo and hit a new low in viewership. Looking at the averages, it’s also the lowest-rated show currently on the network (aside from Saturday night’s 48 Hours).

Like Hostages before it, it’s clear that Intelligence won’t be back for a second season. The ratings are just too low. CBS recently renewed most of their primetime shows for next season. Intelligence was one of the few that were missing from that list.

At this point, we can hope that the producers finished the 13 episodes in a satisfying way.

But, what do you think? Do you like Intelligence? If you were running the network, would you renew it or cancel it to make way for something else?

I think this TV show SHOULD NOT be canceled!!!!!!!!!
Because, in my opinion it’s a very interesting and thrilling show , also in Intelligence there are so many good actors like Josh Holloway (Gabriel Vaughn), Meghan Ory (Riley Neal) and Marg Helgenbelger (Lilian Strand); so I don’t think you should judge a TV show for its last antecedents, you have to see it first before judging and rate it later.
It’s a very good TV show with lots of thrilling parts that makes you feel a little nervous or anxious about what’s gonna happen up next!!!!!
PLEASE PEOPLE YOU SHOULD WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!

Intelligence was one of my favorite shows and now its cancelled another show that was never given a chance. If they can give “Unforgettable” season after they cancelled it then they can do the same with Intelligence. 13 episodes isn’t enough if they gave it more it probably would have gotten more vuewers. Also putting it on a Monday wasn’t the smarest idea like reall put it on tuesady after NCIS of NCIS:LA or Wednesday before Criminal Minds. Its sad to know another good show is not getting another season.

Please DO NOT CANCEL “Intelligence” !

I’m off the age scales (waaay up) and loved science fiction since I was 12yo.
For many reasons, NEVER watched Lost, and didn’t know who was Josh Holloway. (My bad of course)
Was attracted by the plot of this series and fell in love with it and the main cast members –specially Josh– from day one.

I’m most sad to know there might not be a season 2. Please reconsider, I am sure there are many that watch it, as in my case, in Cable TV in other countries.

I was absolutely heartbroken to find out “Intelligence” one of my favorite shows is being cancelled. For goodness sake give it a chance to find those of us with “intelligence”. If you thought those people who watch “mindless” sit coms was going to tune in, well you were wrong.
However, it has followers of which I am one. I started watching because of Josh Holloway and stayed because it was unique and fun to watch. The biggest compliment I can give it is: I just sit and watch, I don’t do anything else like knit or play with my IPad,
I just watch. Please bring it back.

This is the only TV show I watch, except Dancing With The Stars. Another show I watched was Killer Women. I sure hope they renew both these shows. I used to watch Castle until
he started his romance. There are now any good shows left.

I agree with Larry. This is a new show. Give it a chance. move it back to Tuesday after the NCIS shows. Why did you move it to Monday? Monday is already crowded with Castle, Dancing with the Stars, Bones and The Voice. You guaranteed failure by moving it to Monday.

Monday night time slot does not attract viewers of the preceding comedy smut-fest. I never watched Blacklist (is it all that popular?) but I do record Castle. These shows need some time to build an audience and to fine-tune the writing. What a novel concept! Swap Intelligence and Person of Interest. Fans of POI will follow it to Monday as they did from Thursday! Intelligence has great potential and should be preserved!

Don’t cancel Intelligence its my favorite show….Listen I live in Canada and I can’t watch CBS online cause of regional website lock down to only U.S. residents. If I could watch it on CBS website I would have. I would have added to the numbers of people watching the show, and I believe you would have had more numbers from more Canadian viewers. Most people now a days watch most of these show streaming, and because CBS is locked they have had to watch Intelligence on either CTV.ca website or stream it on another website. I really hope when you check you viewing number you check all sites cause I bet CTV.ca had alot of Canadian viewers that would have increased your numbers. Also if CBS would not be regional locked we your fellow Canadian friends and allies would increase your number probably by 50%.
