With “Journeyman” it seems another REALLY good ADULT series bites the dust, ( Journeyman had talented acting, great scripts, expert direction, thoughtful research and a well thought story line not over indulgent with superficial or teen venue relationships!) not because we don’t enjoy it, not because it wasn’t good, but because the idiots who program don’t get that older viewers expect a show to stay in a time slot and not be pre-empted by garbage like: reality shows, award shows, and moving to different time slots!!!! We come home from work expecting what we enjoyed last week , or if we are out to see it on the vcr!!! and yes WE are the ones who WORK and have the INCOME to dispose!!!! I for one do not care who in hollywood or nashville (lack of capitalization intended!) cares to pat themselves on the back, nor do I care for some mind insulting teen show, competition, or so-called reality show!!! I live reality all day!!! get those teens and 20 somethings off the couch or we will stop their allowances!!! BTW Studio 60 was great also!

I couldn’t agree more Brenda. I guess I should be thankful that television entertainment is changing the way I feel about following their series. Their “hook and release” methods of customer handling is aggravating. I don’t know how many times in the last four or five years I’ve been “hooked” into a powerful series only to see it cancelled. Thanks NBC for moving my interests to other more important things such as yardwork and painting the livingroom walls.

I agree, very disappointing. I didn’t realize it was cut. I’ve been wondering when the next episode will reair. I loved the show and I am going to miss it. I hope NBC reconsiders. Everytime they have something good they cut it and I change the channel. I loved Las Vegas and they cut that. I could name many more but, whats the difference, it wouldn’t do any good.

My husband and I absolutely loved “Journeyman.” We never missed it. If we couldn’t watch it, we taped it. This is so depressing. I agree that a better time slot would have helped a great deal. I often find it difficult to stay awake until 11:00. This was the only show that I ALWAYS stayed awake for. I really hope NBC reconsiders.

When it didn’t come on one week we thought it was because of the strike and couldn’t wait for it to come back on but then I did some research and find it was cancelled!!! What??? Are you crazy. I had watched Journeyman from the very first episode and could not get enough of it. Thought it was the best show ever. Better than Quantum Leap and the others. Was extremely disappointed to hear that it was cancelled. As others have written, I hope another network picks it up (SCI-FI). Come on NBC, get it together already!

I don’t care for television all that much, other than The Office and The Simpsons. BUT, I accidentally discovered Journeyman and thought it was entertaining enough to tune in for several episodes. I struggled to find it the last few weeks and now I know why. This was a well written, well acted and fun show. My only complaint is that it doesn’t differ in concept all that much from Quantum Leap. But it’s actually a better show with a more engaging story than Quantum Leap. Why not give it a chance to succeed??

Too bad this show was canceled. It was certainly better than most of the fare on regular network TV (our household doesn’t have cable, so we really are good judges of the content of shows on the major networks). We loved seeing the shots of San Francisco (our favorite major city), really enjoyed Kevin McKidd as well as the rest of the cast, and thought the storylines were well written and somewhat plausible for a “sci-fi” show.

Perhaps someday the networks will quit jamming the reality shows down our throats and go back to well-written shows. The viewing public may return to TV. My theory is that is why independent films are starting to get bigger than the blockbusters–definitely more interesting when a show is well-written and not splashy or tawdry.

Wow…I had no idea this show was even in jeopardy of being cancelled. I figured it was probably pretty popular. I figured no new episodes had been on recently because of the writers strike…but I guess I was wrong. Unbelievable!

NBC you didn’t even give it a chance…and what’s with NBC not counting viewers who watch episodes on their website and not counting DVR recordings?? Can someone develop a new TV show rating system that’s accurate?

C’mon SciFi, we know you’re out there thinking about it…pick up this series!!

Journeyman was an awsome show and had great potential. All they show is these fool reality shows and stupid game shows, what a waste of film! This was the only show on NBC I watched, now I will no longer watch this waste of a network.CBS and FOX rule the airwaves. They don’t just drop a show without giving it a chance. NBC you suck!!!

What a shame that they’re going to drop this show. It was so much better than CSI:Miami that aired at the same time. There was some good thought in this program, good acting, interesting complications, and some fascinating twists. I wouldn’t say this was a show for intellectuals but it was definitely more thought provoking than a lot of the stuff on the tube. A particular favorite was when he came back to the ‘present’ just to discover that it wasn’t exactly the present he knew. He now had a daughter instead of a son and other small differences. I loved the emotion that was there in his interaction with his new daughter and his wife’s reaction that her present might change. A little more mind warping than your usual show.

Remember JAG? First ran on NBC, cancelled, then picked up by CBS. It enjoyed a multi-year run, finishing high in the ratings each season. Journeyman has that potential. Someone, please, give it a chance.

I am starting to think that waiting until the second season is a wise move. Three shows I’ve liked in the last year or so were Daybreak(ABC), Journeyman and Life…. AT least Life has a chance??
I am getting cynical, and figure that if it’s not a sitcom or reality show, every episode I watch could be the last…..
Is there anything a viewer can do to influence these decisions otherwise? The networks are not giving these more complex shows a chance.

I’v had it with NBC brining on good shows only to cancel them without even any type of conclusion. They bring you into an evolving series where you need to watch each episode to know what is happening, then just leave you hang when they decide to pull the plug . I actually went a couple years without watching any network TV other than news and sports because I was tired of getting into a show only to get the shaft in the end. This show and Life came along and I actually decide to give NBC another chance, and yet again I am hosed. Guess what NBC? My televion watching now consists of mostly news and sports. No more series for me.

Journeyman……hmmmmmm…. We could start doing the calling their stations and emailing again, but let’s all start sending old calendars to NBC…you know, the ones you already used for the last three years but held onto because the pictures were cute? Put them all in a big envelope and bury NBC in them…Come on folks….it worked once….I CANNOT believe NBC was dumb enough to do it again but hey!!!!

This blows. I loved the show…even my girlfriend liked it. I hope it gets picked up by sci-fi or USA. Monk was originally aired on CBS to poor ratings…It went to USA and was a hit, go figure. Kevin McKidd I tip my hat to you. Wonderful job. this show also had the best theme music and intro.

What a shame. I just found out this show was canceled. Whenever you look back at some of the most successful shows in television history, you’ll see that they struggled originally. Why can’t TV executives learn that it is good business to stick with high quality shows. The audience will find them.

This was one of the first times I actually looked forward to watching the first episode of a new series. The plots were getting better and better and I had my kids watching it too. I am so tired of bad reality tv and it seems that’s all thats on anymore. It saddens me that quality programs are few and far between anymore. Please give Journeyman another chance. It was an exceptional program.

Although I don’t think Journeyman will be renewed,I think its a BIG mistake for NBC to not pick it up. Its a great show that will continue growing and for the fans they will keep coming back. Shame on you NBC, I’m very dissapointed in the network, and can only show it by not watching your shows.Good luck to all the actors and writers on the show.

This is the first show ever that I actually looked for the premier time for the very first episode. I was a huge fan of Quantum Leap and thought it would be cool to get into a show right off the first episode. I thought it was a fantastic show, well written, great characters and in typical NBC fashion left it high and dry. Very disappointing. Never missed an episode. As said before I hope another network picks it up and gives it the respect/time slot/advertising it truly deserves. Hopefully it will come back and bite NBC in the ass and wake them up a little.

it is a real shame that journeyman is being cancelled. unlike most of the comments, i understand why NBC is cancelling the show. i dont agree with it, but do understand it, because i have read the reason why, and as to why they chose Life instead of Journeyman. aside from poor ratings, its all about the money (one show costs less then the other one). i did see plenty of advertising for the show before it began but not much after that. as stated before, maybe the timeslot was a bad one, but you can always tell the shows that the network doesnt really believe in when they put them on either monday at 10pm or on friday nights. they do give some shows a chance, such as FNL (which probably wont get a third season). its just a shame that this show never had a chance. as stated by other comments, i do hope that Journeyman does get a chance at another network.

And there I risqued again to invest time in a new show (dumb, dum, dumb)- I should know better than to get interested into them, network moguls only seem to give any kind of support to safe spinoff of spinoffs (enough!), cheaper and easy comedy OR reality shows – well of course they cost less! One after the other one new interesting fiction shows, are shot down unless they are such crashing successes that they can’t be shoved away (like Heroes). Please give us the time to know all that is offered on the schedule and to get familiar with what we seem to prefer – less than half a season isn’t enough people. I guess I really should forget losing my time with interesting and original shows, those executives only see numbers/dollars – they just don’t give a hoot. And there I was so intrigued with Jim seeing another returning self – this was getting great – who, what was the reason of the whole experience. If anyone is listening -BRING IT BACK! Such a gem…GIVE IT A CHANCE!

Another of episode of NBC exec’s showing their lack of understanding of the American television veiwer(s). Journeyman was a great show that had wonderful writing, great actors, and kept telling a story that just kept getting better and better. A story that told us how good people can be even when their personal space has been interrupted. I should have known better then to start watching NBC shows again. WHat’s next to be chopped? Heroes? Another great show.

I really think that the three show line up was a grand slam for them but now the exec’s went and acted their disruptive sub-normal and sub-par way that they always do.

Thanks a lot NBC, I think I will go back to Fox.

I just watched what might be the last episode of Journeyman last night. Such a good show. Ratings have too much influence. NBC is just becoming another place where bad TV rules. Anything worth watching goes by the wayside. I heard they are keeping “Chuck” really that was a better decision?????

Journeyman cancelled? No surprise there. NBC has this nauseating and irritating (and oh so predicatable) habit of adding well-written, thought-provoking and enjoyable shows like “Journeyman” and “Studio 60″ to their lineup, failing to promote them and then letting the shows fall into oblivion without so much as an attempt to save them. Yet they tirelessly spend all of their time and effort into cramming mediocre shows like “Friday Night Lights” down everyone’s throats. Is it any wonder NBC is lacking in the ratings?

I am really disappointed Journeyman will be cancelled. I could never watch it live, I always recorded the show because 10:00 is too late for me. This is a great, action packed show, actually my favourite new show this year. I finally figured ABC was getting it right instead of producing ultimate crap like “America’s got Talent”. I was disappointed when “Studio 60″ was cancelled last year, but I understood that that show likely had inflated production costs. Journeyman can’t possibly comepare to that. Oh and Bionic Woman is a ridiculous remake of a ridiculous concept, but yeah, definitely stick with that crap and get rid of the good shows

I shudder to think what the average IQ of the public must be though the ratings of television shows gives me a nightmare producing idea. Finally a show about quantum physics, greek philosophy thrown in once and a while, lush film noir scenes, well written, well acted and the ratings tank because most of the population of the US must have the IQ of a piece of toast. God Forbid you have to pay attention and think about something other than snarky sarcastic remarks and our country’s favorite pasttime – making fun of reality show contestants. I should have learned my lesson years ago. Don’t even buy a television unless you want to be brainwashed into lethargy and a morass of retail pimping stupidity. Even SciFi channel is getting the same disease. I think I’ll use my television for something important like propping up and engine block.

This is complete BS. I am sick of networks only giving the greenlight to shows that are “instant hits”. So now we get stuck with a bunch of super lame reality shows and confusing, commercial ridden hour-long game shows, while any REAL decent programs like Journeyman get canceled within months and replaced by another show that will get canceled too if enough people don’t stay home every night to watch TV. There’s really no point in becoming a regular watcher of any show because it could get canceled any time leaving us viewers wanting more and having no answers.

Yet another original, well written, badly promoted show that is being cancelled before its time.

At least in this case they gave it enough time to start to find its feet… Oh and what an excellent pair they found to.

Life, also poorly promoted and supported, is equally good, original, and towards the end maybe a bit more compelling. It needed to find its feet as well, but not as badly as Journeyman did. On the other hand it didn’t find quite as a good pair as Journeyman did, however they would still be something to write home about.

I saw most of the advertising and with the exception of a couple of teasers for Life, I saw not a single add that ever explained eithter title.

Maybe I was just watching other networks shows if I missed them.

I as a somewhat of a Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Speculative Fiction fan know why it is called Journeyman (if not in the script, in real ife it was probably inspire by “The Journeyman Project” and I would not be surprided to see that mentioned as some point).

Hopefully someone like Sci-Fi, or Fox itself (god forbid), or an international group will take on Journeyman and it will get the respect it deserves.

Dang, NBC hardly gave Journey Man any attention, and 10:00 has been a bad time slot for a lot of shows. Lame. At least I can still watch Lost. Maybe some other network (unlikely) will pick up Journeyman…
