King & Maxwell: Cancel or Keep the TNT Series?

king and maxwell: cancel or renew?Tonight, TNT airs the last episode of King & Maxwell’s first season. Should the cop series return for a second season or should it be cancelled instead? Is it a ratings hit? Cancel or keep it?

King & Maxwell takes place in Washington, DC and revolves around a pair of former Secret Service agents (Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn) who’ve become private eyes. Co-stars in the series include Ryan Hurst, Michael O’Keefe, and Chris Butler.

The show debuted on June 10th to 3.52 million viewers with a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was a very positive start. Viewership fell 21% in week two but climbed back upward in later weeks.

A couple weeks ago, King & Maxwell nearly matched its premiere with 3.39 million and a 0.5 demo rating.

While the new show isn’t as popular as Major Crimes (4.82 million) or Rizzoli & Isles (5.66 million), it’s nearly matching fellow TNT dramas Falling Skies and Perception (3.53 million apiece).

Though they haven’t announced it yet, I suspect that TNT will bring King & Maxwell back for a second season.

But, what do you think? Does King & Maxwell deserve a second season? Or, should it be cancelled to make way for something else? Cancel or keep?

Please do not cancel. I looked forward to watching this show. I have watched all ten episodes. If they cancel I will stop watching TNT.

King and Maxwell is a good show, Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn are very good together. The rest of the cast work well together, I hope they have another season. It has humor, action and it is enjoyable for a change.

Absolutely love this show! Extremely entertaining and a great cast. It was good to begin with, but adding Edgar and Benny, plus an enjoyable turn by Michael O’Keefe, this show just keeps getting better and better… Do yourself and your viewers a favor and re-up this show. The most likeable cast this side of Canada’s Republic Of Doyle!

Definitely keep the show! It’s very hard to get established when you have a “season” of only ten shows. The characters are there, the chemistry is there between the principals (I’m especially liking “Benny”) and the writing keeps getting better as the writers know the characters more. Lastly, I was really pleased that they wrapped it up as opposed to pulling some fake cliffhanger to get people to “stay tuned”. Of *course* Michelle wasn’t going to go to the Secret Service b/c that would be the end of the show. Bring it back guys!

PLEASE put us down as a family that really likes the wholesome freshness of King & Maxwell. It is one show we really look forward to watching each week, and having just seen the final show of the season was sad. It will be a shame if it goes away; only to be replaced with something not half as entertaining.
