TV show description:
This TV series is based on the best-selling books by author David Baldacci.

Sean King (Jon Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Rebecca Romijn) are unusual private investigators. Both of them used to be Secret Service agents, and their unique skills (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) give them a leg up on conventional law enforcement.

Maxwell is a former elite athlete who uses her brains, beauty and Beltway connections to solve cases. King’s career in the Secret Service ended when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated, sending him on a downward spiral.

Now, King has added a law degree to his arsenal of skills, allowing him to navigate the system in ways that a typical private investigator never could. Along the way, King and Maxwell clash over just about everything — from her garbage-strewn car to his love of wine over beer.

FBI Special Agents Rigby (Michael O’Keefe) and Carter (Chris Butler) frequently clash with King and Maxwell over their less-than-legal methods. Rigby is a veteran FBI agent with many years on the force and he always follows the rules, sticks to the facts and questions anyone who stands between him and the truth.

Carter is Agent Rigby’s junior partner and will likely go far in the agency. He works with whoever can help solve a case -– either standard law-enforcement organizations, like the police, or unconventional resources, like private investigators.

Helping the King and Maxwell team is Edgar Roy (Ryan Hurst). He joined their team after Sean King served as his lawyer during his highly publicized criminal case. Edgar is a high-functioning autistic savant who specializes in patterns and numerical sequences. He has certain work-space requirements, like sitting at a “friendly” desk and enjoying soup for lunch on Mondays.

Series Finale:
Episode #10 — Pandora’s Box
Sean’s investigation of the Ritter assassination threatens to end his partnership with Michelle as she considers returning to the Secret Service. The shocking truth sends Sean back to the scene of the crime to prevent history from repeating itself.
First aired: August 12, 2013.

My sister and I loved this show. Was looking forward to it coming back, only to find it was cancelled. The network never gave it a chance.

  2. Martin says

Who made this foolish decision? I loved this show! Great writing, actors and chemistry between the cast members…. I say bring back King and Maxwell

  3. Donna Janner says

I could not wait until Maxwell & King came on, it was one of my favorite shows. I am very disappointed it has been cancelled.

  4. Laurie says

Will miss the show – didn’t realize it was cancelled. Sad to hear that. It was a good show with two good actors. Wish they would bring it back!

  5. Bea Heil says

Why do they always cancel the good ones? A&E cancelled The Glades leaving us in a lurch and now King and Maxwell. I was looking forward to seeing both this summer. Does no good to invest time into a particular show because the idiots that run the networks could care less about anything except the bottom line. Used to just watch Home and Garden Network because of things like this, but unfortunately they need to change their name to the Real Estate Network because that is all they do anymore. Guess I’ll just have to go back to reading.

My wife and I enjoyed King and Maxwell. It was one of the better shows on TV. The addition and development of the character Edgar added an interesting level to the show. TNT didn’t really give it a chance and they shouldn’t have cancelled it. Please bring the show back.

I liked reading about King and Maxwell, but I enjoyed watching the show even more. I fail to understand why such a well scripted and acted show was cancelled.

  8. Gerry says

Books were all excellent, and the show was well done. Big fail on the
network’s part for not bringing it back. A show all could watch. Would
be happy to see someone with the brain power to bring it back!

  9. Marsha says

Upsetting for sure. I have all the shows taped. Watch them over and over again. Waiting for the show this coming summer. Darn it all!!!!! Loved all the actors in the show as well.

My grandson (12 years old) and I are both extremely disappointed that this show has been canceled!!! It was a show that we enjoyed together each week we will l miss the great cast our favorite is Edgar, perfect! If it were not for Rizzoli and Isles we would not bother to turn on TNT. What a programming decision disaster!

How could they leave us hanging they way they did on the last show, without at least renewing for a limited number of shows to bring it to a conclusion? Hope they reconsider….this was good entertainment.

  13. Cristena says

I am so disappointed that the show has been cancelled. I read the book and am reading the next and couldn’t wait till the show began for its next season. I loved Jon in The Closer. Bring the show back, Please!

    • Emily says

That is stupid that they would cancel it. Extremely when there is stupid shows all the time staying on, but they could not keep this show running? That was extremely stupid of them, of course it was not going to start off with 10 million views every episode, but it would have came up if TNT gave it the time too. I think they should bring it back I mean it is not like they don’t have enough time slots at all during the summer….

      • Donna Janner says

I agree with you, I felt not only was it a good crime series but they added humor into it. I thought it was a lot of fun.
