Greatest show that I’ve seen in sooooooo long. I just watched the whole show in 3 days, it was so good I could barely stop watching. I’ve never even heard of this show until I found it on Hulu. Was there any advertisement for this show at all? Because I watch NBC a lot and tv in general and I never even heard of it till now. I say bring the show back, improve the advertising and I guarantee that it will do a lot better than it did.

The reason for failure is because it is on NBC which is in severe decline. If NBC sold the rights to the FOX network (like ’24′) it would go to the sky in ratings. ‘Kings’ is the only program we have viewed on NBC in years. We happened on it in the iTunes lineup and downloaded the season. Even our 15 yr. old son and 13 yr. old daughter were locked in on the show. We all hope to see it again… soon!

You know when great shows like this one come out there are such high expectations that top officials want such fast results. But what they don’t understand is that great show like this take time. It was a spactacular show, intresting , & indepth. Its sad to say that stupid people cancel shows like this and replace them with dumb reality shows. Its almost disapointing to say that people in our near future are getting dumber by the minute, by watching these reality shows. There aren’t any more shows like Kings, & that deeply saddens me. That there isn’t any more creativity. You know that with all the money that these executives make @ NBC that there would be some one who knows what us as viewers want. But I guess that there just lazy and want something as a quick fix to fill in the time gaps on evening TV, & thats what they have done……..

I love the show Kings also! I started watching it and got hooked with the second show. It’s the best in everything. I would never change it for Heroes or Battlestar Galactica. It’s much better that those and I don’t understand the low ratings. I think they didn’t advertised it at all. I found the show by accident looking for what to watch on that night. I didn’t want to go out and rent a movie and having 100+ channels I thought I might have something different to watch. Anyway, please don’t cancel Kings. You’ll see how it grows and people will be crazy looking for more because it is great!!!

Kings is one of the best shows ever. So NBC cancels it. Now they are threatening to cancel “The Philanthropist” which is another great show. Both shows have a deep moral theme, great acting, and wonderful scripts.

NBC should learn from its own history. In 1996. NBC canceled JAG after just one season. They said it had low ratings. The next year CBS decided to give JAG another chance and it proved very profitable, The show ran for 10 seasons and won numerous awards. Today it is seen in syndication in over 100 countries. If NBC abandons Kings and The Philantropist, I hope CBS will pick them up. It would be a popular decision.

I don’t have time to watch TV normally, but stumbled upon it over the summer and watched the entire 1st season in a few days! The story is beautifully written with elements that will satisfy any viewer and depth that is very unusual for a TV show. Truly could have been epic, I wish another network would pick it up or NBC would reconsider their cancellation status!!

With all the ridiculous shows on TV, I am saddened that this quality drama has been canceled. If it got all the promotion as some of the other shows, people would have known it was on and tuned in. Sadly I’m addicted to the story and am sad there won’t be a season 2. Good luck to the great actors and writers that made this show a winner in my book.

Well, after posting my thoughts, I read some of the older posts on this page. I hope that some of you are right and it will be picked up by a cable network. I heard a few ideas such as F/X and SyFy that sound promising. I really hope that someone picks it up. It really is a good show. The actors all do a good job. And, did the rest of you notice how visually beautiful this show is. I mean the sets and the way that it is shot is just brilliant. I also really like the idea of it being loosely based on the biblical story of King David. But, as already acknowledged, it is not a trashy reality t.v. show, so therefore will probably end up in the garbage heap along with a bunch of other really good show. The Geena Davis show “Commander in Chief” is comming to mind. This was a really good show, and who doesn’t like Geena Davis? But, it didn’t make it. I really want to know: who are the MILLIONS of people that actually watch these stupid reality shows that are on EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I mean even TV Land, which was started with the idea to give an alternative to network crap with a network that showed nothing but good shows from the past, has now jumped on the bandwagon with crap like “She’s Got the Look”, “Class Reunion”, and that stupid cougar show (I can’t remember the name of it right now because it’s so stupid it’s not worth remembering). I mean even the educational networks such as Discovery and the History channel are showing these kind of idiotic shows. The learning Channnel shows nothing but “What Not To Wear” and The History Channel bores me to tears with episode after episode of “Ice Road Truckers”. I mean who cares about two or three seasons of that crap?

For those of you that do actually like to watch televison programs that have a plat and are enjoyable instead of completely tedious to watch: I would like to recommend “Being Human” on BBC America. I watched the first episode on Saturday 7/27/2009 the other day. I am excited. This promises to be a very good watch. It is actually not brand new, it’s been running on BBC 3 over their for about a year now, but I think that it has only recently come to BBC America. The only shows worth watching on network t.v. andmore are: Desperate Housewives (ABC), Brother and Sisters (ABC), Castle (ABC), and Law and Order (NBC, both the original and SVU are good). The rest of the offerings of the networks are crap. True Blood on HBO is pretty good for any of you who haven’t seen it. And of course, there is still the other good cable shows: Weeds (Showtime) and Entourage (HBO). I refuse to watch ANY of the stupid reality shows that litter the airwaves every single night. I couldn’t care less about The Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, and last but certainly not least The Biggest Looser. Why would I want to watch a program about a bunch of obese peole loosing weight for money? How about loosing weight so that your heart doesn’t explode?!?!?! You do realize this goes along with the entire rest of the planet thinking that Americans are a bunch of idiots?

I think it’s a terrible shame that this show didn’t make it. It’s well made, visually appealing with an actual plot. Unfortunately this is probably it’s undoing. It isn’t a stupid reality show about people living in a house with 100 cameras watching their every move (most of which involve little else except siting around talking aimlessly about who is and isn’t forming an alliance to get so and so out of the house), fat people loosing weight for money, or idiots trying to impress a washed up millionaire to get a job. All I can say is ENOUGH OF THE CRAPPY REALITY SHOWS!!! I hate them all. And what does it say about the collective intelligence of the people of this country that the only kind of shows that stand a chance are these?

This series was a well thought out well written drama that kept me wanting to see the next episode. The finale this passt weekend is a prime example of that hook. It’s almost maddening to know that now I won’t be able to find out how Capt. Shepherd will fullfill his promise to his higher power and his country. Beyond that… now that Silas is becoming the villain I want to see how low he can go to maintain his crown and whether he’ll be redeemed and pulled from the brink of damnation at the very last minute. Would it be because of the child his daughter carries that is Shepherds or his son ….. though because of what was aptly named the death of quality TV (reality shows) we may never know. I mean for the love of Mike out one of those in the death slot or for that matter one of the million cop shows because i know as well as most they already have thier fan base built and can contend there. I believe this could be a long running and very productive series should it run at 9pm tues or thurs. Sometimes its good to pull corporate mentality out of the corporation long enough to sustain something worth turning your TV on for. I swear to God if i see that Janice chick appear in another reality show or even another reality show period Im switching off NBC for life and sticking with PBS. Just keep what ya got and leave it be.

I think the reason that it had too few viewers is not due to lack of interest but the fact that it was not promoted strongly enough I spoke to several people who would have loved the show had they known it even existed. “KINGS” is the very first tv show on NBC that is semi-biblical but is not offensive. The writing, acting and overall production of this televised theatrical drama is overwhelmingly brilliant! Given a proper chance (airing it any weekday) I believe will improve ratings. I’m not insulting NBC, you do your jobs phenominally, I just think that your fans deserve a little more loyalty. Fans invest their time and attention spans on a particular program just to have it torn from their lives…It’s quite cruel actually. But in the end, if rating still plumit and plug has to be pulled, I hope it recieves a proper send off and not a “Kyle XY” (ABC fam.) or “Sopranos” (HBO) bomb ending.

What’s wrong with NBC (wtf!!). They spend all this time and effort to produce a fantasitc program and then set it up to fail. Everything about this show is great; period.
And then they decide to pull the plug!!.

Perhaps NBC could replace it with some sort of reality TV program or crime scene show,or mabey a dating show; I don’t think I’ve seen that before on TV.

I don’t understand why people would rather watch crap like today’s reality TV (eg. bachelorette; my girlfreind HAS TO watch it) week after week and can’t give Kings a chance.

I never really watched NBC before and now I now I have no reason to watch at all.

I don’t see how NBC put all this money into promoting it? They stuck in on a saturday night to premiere which is always the worst tv night for any show. Frankly its a show that needs to be watched to be understood why it is so good. 30 sec spots won’t do it when it comes to selling the plot, which is what makes this such a great show. If nothing else there has got to be room in the network somewhere. Maybe on a different channel? Start a new channel…intelligent plot driven shows that rely on more than stupid reality tv shows and crap. How can merlin be on the air still and kings be bumped? I watched about a half hour of that show because I was into arthurian legend when I was younger…I seriously considered killing myself if that is what our society has come to find entertaining. Do they account for online viewing in the ratings column at all, because I know a lot of my own friend who have gotten into the show recently online and love it, but we don’t sit at home and watch it on saturday night. The only thing I can think of is the budget for the show…I could imagine how it costs more than other shows to produce. If nothing else I think the show could do well as a mini series type event. Film 6 90 min episodes rather than a season and make the whole thing a big event. I can’t believe that this show can’t survive in some form compared the other crap on NBC.

The incompetence of the American viewing public is mind numbing. Kings is, without question, the best drama on television since the Sopranos. It maintains a rich plot, well developed characters, anticipation from one episode to the next, and phenominal acting on behalf of nearly every main character. The writing is dramatic without being over the top, intelligent without being confusing, and enlightening without being obvious. To cancel this show would make Kings another tragic victim of the American viewing publics otherwise disgraceful lack of taste.

Please, for all of your fans with any reasonable appreciation for intelligent and thought provolking entertainment, keep Kings on the air.

Kings has been a breath of fresh air. It’s so different from everything else and I love it! If any NBC executives are reading this, this is one of the only times I turn my television from ABC (Grey’s/Housewives/Ugly Betty). Please realize that this show has a loyal audience, incredible writers and actors, and offers such a nice alternative to the brainless shows viewers are constantly fed.

What’s the point of investing $2 millon per episode if you’re not going to stick by your product? It takes some viewers longer to discover a program is worth watching. i’m so tired of all the good shows that have been canceled by these big tv corporations. Moonlight (on CBS) canceled after 15 shows, New Amsterdam (on Fox) canceled in less than 12. The list goes on and if Kings disappears before it is given a chance for people to love it, then i might just stop watching NBC, and maybe all of TV forever, if not until these stations get some sense back into their heads that it takes time for people to fall in love with these types of drama’s.

I hope that some cable network picks it up if NBC decides to drop it. This country could surely use a dose of Christian education that is entertaining. I think this is a terrific show.
I actually missed it when it first aired on NBC, but caught a free Pilot episode on my Apple TV (thanks Apple!)

I was hooked and am now watching it – and will watch it – regularly.

I love this show….it has so much potential. The sci-fi twist makes it very interest, which means they have room to create very unusual storylines.

A part of me wants to support it because it has a bit of a sci-fi alternate history sorta feel to it and I like supporting those types of shows.

But I watch too much TV as it is, so I didn’t bother. Id rater see stories of average people again, not surgeons, kings or other privileged groups of our society.

It needs to grow into itself, but I liked it. I hope it lasts longer than the ABC shows do.
