Kyle XY: Campaign Support for the Cancelled TV Show

Kyle XY supportSad Kyle XY news. Though the show has been a big success for ABC Family for most of its run, the network has decided to cut Kyle XY short after three seasons and 43 episodes. Understandably the TV show’s many fans are very upset about the cancellation and are hoping that the series can continue in some way.

Though it’s very rare that fan campaigns can change a network executive’s mind, it can happen. Recently, the executive producer of Friday Night Lights said he believes the show has survived in large part because NBC has recognized the passion of its audience. If nothing else, Kyle XY fans are certainly passionate. We’ve created this page to keep track of the ways that viewers can show support for Kyle XY.

Watch Kyle XY on ABC Family
Essentially, the most important thing to a network is for as many as possible 18-49 viewers. The more that watch, the more money the network can charge for their advertising. Watch every episode on TV — live, if possible — and encourage others to do the same. Perhaps one of them is secretly a Nielson family!

Write the network
Express your passion for the show but be respectful and polite. Everyone responds best to courtesy. E-mails are nice but personal snail-mail is even better. Some fans are sending packages of Sour Patch Kids while others are sending postcards with “Viz Allati” (from season two) written on them.

Thank you so much for creating this page tvseriesfinale. We Kyle XY fans really appreciate it. It’s an amazing show and it deserves at least one more season. I hope ABC Family will realize that and change their mind. If not, it’d be great if another network picked it up. As long as we get to keep the show on the air, I’d be happy either way. Save the tub, Save Kyle XY!!! Don’t give up hope.

Please please ABC Studios give us another season or give the show to another network! This show is a treasure, it would be a tragedy to lose it.

To Whom It May Concern: Please keep Kyle XY. This show has been a source of REAL entertainment in a world where good programs are few and far between. We found this wonderful show when my mother was in the hospital. We had never watched ABC Family network until then. There we were, just “flipping” channels, and we happened to see a commercial for this program we had never heard of. The more we saw of these commercials, the more we decided that we had to at least see what it was all about. It was when you were doing a marathon, and so we got to watch all of them for that season. We were “hooked” from the very first line. There in the hospital when we would be worried about tests and reports, etc., there was a little bit of sunshine to make us smile. There was a program that centered on a family who had ups and downs, but still, no matter what, the love and unity of the family unit was still there. The actors who portrayed this family and their friends around them had a very unique chemistry that would make this program enjoyable, and would give a storyline that had something for everyone. This is something that is rarely seen today. In a world of programs that have nothing to offer but reality shows, soap operas, crime solvers, ghost busters etc., your network found a program that would actually make you sit down and think for a little while. So, even though you have said that it is over, PLEASE take the time to stop and reconsider. Make the right choice and give Kyle XY another chance. Be a network that will stand up and say, “We care about you, our viewers, and so we’ll give it another chance”. Let people know that it’s back and when it will be on, and just watch how many people will tune in to watch. I think you will be happily surprised. Sincerely – One Fan Among Many

I want to thank you for writing this kind and understanding piece on behalf of those who love KyleXY. Many of us have done many things from one fan originally from New York making a papier mache bathtub, to the many others who have posted on YouTube videos in support of not cancelling KyleXY, to the thousands who have posted on different sites, sent in postcards and letters and have reached out to those who may not have heard of the cancellation.
Again, I want to thank you for this article and in your own way You have helped in the effort to SAVE the TUB or to MOVE the TUB to a network worthy of KYLE X Y.

I sure hope sense ABC Family doesn’t want the tub, the tub can move to a place where it can stay. I know that someone will care about the tub! Saving Kyle is my goal!!

If you could add buying season 2 on dvd to help the cause it might help. Since networks are all about $$ DVD sales help show them they made a mistake, Futurama and Arrested Development come to mind.
