I purchased the 1st, 2nd and 3rd season series as I had never seen the show when it was on TV. What a great, enjoyable family show. How disappointed I am to find out that there was no final season 4… How typical. Just leave it up in the air. Shame on them.
I so wanted it to finish properly as most series do.

I hate when they cancel something so great in the tv industry because of a low rating and I still wonder what could’ve happen. Oh well that a mystery to be unresolved for years. Yeah ******* idiots,i just finished ‘LAS VEGAS’,******* upseting END and it said ‘to be continued’.Fuckers,they shouldn’t have said that if they didn’t make anymore episodes,at least one more episode would’ve been great.
Another good series that was cancelled and left us only with our imagination is HEROES.
I hate it when a good shows are cancelled.

It’s annoying! So many good TV shows have been cancelled, only because their ratings are low in the US . But what about the ratings in the rest of the world? Shows like Kyle XY, Dark Angel and especially Flashforward have been absolutely sucessful in Europe. Doesn’t that count at all? Why can’t producers wait for the ratings of other countries or at least give shows like Flashforward a chance to gain more fans in the US after a second season? Some people need time to get enthusiastic about a TV show. And if ratings start to decline, I don’t ask producers to air these shows in prime time, but cutting a show off without a resolving end or a dramatic cliffhanger is upsetting, especially to all loyal fans! And if a show is cancelled before the end of the season, at least a last final episode should be shot!

Heroes …Earl…Terminator..all really tick me off. I get more frustrated with networks everyday. One slight slip in ratings and a show is history. No wonder people stop watching when the networks pull the rug out from under you. What a waste of time to spend hours and hours watching just to be left hanging. I think all shows should be given a least some kind of wrap up if networks want to keep viewers! !!!

Reunion is without a doubt the show I was most upset about. I really wish that it could have gotten a proper ending. I loved that show. And apparently I am the only one, because no one else even remembers it. It was cancelled 6 years ago and I am still upset about it.

I also wanted more of an ending for Angel. But I can also see why it ended the way it did. I also wanted an ending for heroes but oh well.

As far as Pushing Daisies goes, yes it was an amazing show an yes it was cancelled too soon but it was not left in a cliffhanger. (This is a response to a comment not the article itself.) but there are far too many good series that are cancelled way too soon, and with the exception of Pushing Daisies almost all of my favorites were on FOX: Reunion, Tru Calling, Standoff, Justice, Dollhouse, and Firefly. Dead Like Me too but that wasn’t on FOX either. ILit was on Showtime. I just miss the good ones I guess.

For Pre-2000, I think the most frustrating cliffhanger was that of the show Space Above And Beyond. It left the viewers with all the characters in some kind of peril and nothing was resolved.

Hi. I’m still annoyed that they ended HEROES WITHOUT A PROPER CONCLUSION.

TERMINATOR HAD THE POTENTIAL TO GET BETTER AND TO AXE IT ON A CLIFFHANGER
THAT’S PLAIN STUPIDITY.

THEY ALSO CANCELLED SLIDERS TWO SEASONS TO EARLY AS WELL.

WHAT ABOUT EARTH 2, CLEOPATRA 2525, PUSHING DAISIES, DEGRESSI THE NEXT GENERATION, I COULD GO ON FOREVER.

I literally just watched episode 10 of season 3. I am sincerely pissed off that they could just cancel the show. I have grown closer to this series than any show I’ve ever watched and I am so distraught that they did not have the mere decency to even wrap it up in one final episode. I mean really?

It would have been nice to have an ending to the Kyle XY series. My husband and I recently watched it on Netflix and it really ended bizarrely with him finding out he has an evil brother. They left the show all up in the air and I know there are a lot of people who would like to see the questions answered and a proper ending

I had found Kyle XY to be just like a good book, I could not wait to see what happened next. I stayed up long hours because I just could not stop watching. I just watched the tenth episode of season three and couldn’t help but feel disappointed. So much build up, so much drama, and then nothing but a headful of questions. So sad to see it end this way. I wish the producers would consider finishing out the season and answer all the questions they left hanging in the air. To lead on the fan base and dupe them like that is hard to take

Moonlight was one that I don’t think will ever continue. You are right about Drive, that ended way too soon. The Unit wasn’t too bad a cliffhanger, but still should have continued. I’m not sure about all the other great shows that got cancelled, but I’m sure that there’s a lot.

i loved terminator soooooooooo much and the fact that the latest movie had been wrapping up at that point should have afforded it 1 more season the cast was amazing and it was incredibly well written, i also loved showtimes john from cincinatti i thought it rocked

p.s. i actually switched my work days off from saturday and sunday to have tuesdays and wendays off so i could watch the terminator show

The most emotional sudden endings for me in recent years for shows I was obsessed with were:
Witchblade, Pretender, Profiler, Dark Angel, John Doe, Firefly… pretty much any show on Fox that isn’t a reality show ends early. I even attempted to boycott Fox after last year… but it was sadly a limited boycott… I’d still watch Simpsons. Soon I realized I can’t even boycott with that limit… so I decided no more allowing myself to get obsessed with Fox TV shows… they just disappear or are replaced by crappy reality shows.

I think that Stargate Atlantis ended badly. I think they should have made a happier ending, and I know it went on for 5 seasons, but Stargate the original lasted longer and they made a happy ending. Plus, now they have Stargate Universe, what about ATLANTIS?

I would have loved to have seen at least a second season of the series Carnavale, that was so brilliant on HBO a few years ago. It was I believe a Joss Weedon series. Such great unresolved storylines and a setting (a traveling carnival in the great dustbowl, pre World War II) that could have gone on for many seasons.

Mental – one of the last shows that the late David Carradine appeared in – was really good, left without a word. Someone mentioned October Road, if you buy (or rent) the 3rd season DVD they have tied up all of the loose ends in an extension of the last episode.

Ohhh I remember Reunion!

I can always tell when Fox is canceling a show. They say it will be back in two weeks, and when two weeks is gone, they just expect viewers to forget it was supposed to be on, and it never comes back. I remember when that happened with Reunion I was like… ummm how can they even DO that??

I went on the website and tried to figure out if they were going to at least tell the viewers what happened, but the writers HADN’T EVEN DECIDED yet! It was up in the air, but their likely killer was actually the woman’s daughter. Ugh.

Seriously, though? I wish the networks would pick shows that are ACTUALLY good and stick with them. I’m tired of getting into shows only to have them canceled. It’s like picking up a great book, reading the first few chapters, and then tossing it in a meat grinder.

I’m glad someone else remembered the CBS version of the Fugitive. Of couse we know Dr Richard Kimball is eventually found innocent but we actually had to wait several months for the last two eposodes that were flmed..

All of the shows mentioned were valid, I wasn’t familiar with some of the cable shows The Soproanos was a different situation. It ended the way the creators wanted it to end not because the network dropped the show before an ending was filmed as with the others mentioned.

Young Americans. That show was awesome. It premiered in the Summer; so for a show targeted at high-schoolers I think it would have done well had it continued through the Fall, when students are back on regular [TV] schedules.

Tru Calling (2004) …It got axed only 5 episodes into season 2! Everything was left completely unresolved just when it was getting really good! (Of course that’s FOX for you, they always cancel shows when they start to get good…Dollhouse is a prime example of this…at least they will have a proper ending!)

Since I’m probably the only person who actually remembers it, my vote goes to CBS’s 2000 remake of ‘The Fugitive’.

Someone got shot in the very last episode. But unfortunately, we never found out who.

The Fugitive is one of those shows that requires an ending, no matter how poor the show performed in the ratings.
