well April 1st will be one year when ABC messed up and canceled LOM. I still write to ABC and I haven’t watched ABC since then. JUst got tired of them canceling really well made shows. Fans keep writing and tell ABC what you think of them.

The UK series was brilliant, and probably one of my favorite tv series ever. I was completely taken aback when I heard of the remake, even if it had Harvey Keitel.
Watch the British series. It is fantastic and will blow your mind.

Great show. Name of show may have kept viewers away as it sounded like a si fi with space travel. Great acting, music and historical content. i wish the network could have given it a chance. Remember Seinfield didn’t do well the first year.

This is typical of ABC recently; good shows that the execs think are not doing well based on a time horizon that does not include how many people use TIVO or watch the shows online. Hey ABC, America has a life and we are not glued to our TVs, we enjoy watching shows without the commercials!!!!! No wait, I guess we can’t enjoy watching them becasue they are cancelled so you can put crap like dirty sexy money on, later to be cancelled because it was really crap……………..

The US remake was a terrible, terrible piece of television. I’ve seen a lot of GREAT US shows getting canceled (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, for example) but LoM US really deserved it. I can only tell people to import the UK version, it’s simply brilliant, even if you’re not british (I’m german, I live in Germany).

I don’t mind the idea of a good show being canceled if the finale draws some kind of real closure. The ending made no sense. All through the show, we were led to believe that he was in a coma caused by being hit by a car. He constantly has glimpses of the world he is trying to get back to and is even being contacted with clues by some one or some thing that he believes will help him get back. A very thick plot ends like a balloon being popped. I mean, come on. We are supposed to believe he is an astronaunt? And what’s with his shoe and pant leg at the end? It felt like the whole story had not been told and that he still wasn’t home. Like getting to the end of a novel and realizing that the last pages had been torn out. Very, very disappointing!

I am sick of becoming involved in a tv series, only to have it cancelled. What has tv become? I loved this show. I also loved Men in Trees & looked forward to it every week, then it got cancelled. It does It seems like there is so much crap on tv now, with all of the stupid reality shows. It makes me not want to watch any tv series anymore. I get to know the characters pretty well, and then it’s like they all die off.

What a complete dissappointment ABC. at least try to sell the show to another tv agency or something. I hate reality shows for the most part and don’t watch much tv, but Life on Mars was one shoe I never skipped a beat on.

Please, Fox, FX, CBS or some other major tv station pick up this very fine show. Such a lost for good tv.

I would watch it every week, and even record it when I couldn’t watch it on wed. nights. I waited for it to come back, until I just found out they decided to cancel the show. Bad move… Something should have been done to keep the show going!

I missed the announcement Life on Mars was being cancelled. I kept waiting to see when it would start again. Its now Sept. 23. I realized last week that my favorite show, the one I loved, the one that kept me watching TV was not coming back. But I had to have proof so I came looking. Why, why, why do we keep losing wonderful shows (Pushing Daisies) while the idiotic, senseless, dont need a brain to watch reality shows keep going on and on and on. My husband and I both loved the show and are very disappointed that it was cancelled. I don’t think ABC really gave it a chance. This show was well written, funny and clever. 8 million viewers want to see more! We want to visit with Sam every week and see how he’s making out in 1973. It was so great to see the clothing, decor and cars of the 70′s and to remember a time before cell phone, DNA testing and the internet.

I’m very disapointed that the show was cancelled. I graduated in 1973 and the storylines were very clever and true to form for that decade. It was fun watching crimes being solved without the use of cell phones or laptops. Yeah, people had to use typewriters and liquid paper to correct mistakes. Also the music of the era was much better than anything we hear now. I think it was a mistake to cancel and I hope that the execs will smarten up and bring it back.

I am very dissapointed that this show has been cancelled. I first stumbled upon this show by accident while channel surfing for something good to watch. Loved it from the first episode, but never saw an ad for the show or time. I rarley watch network tv, and now I remember why. I loved this show, It was super fun to watch and remember that it was not that long ago that we hit the computer age. I am very disappointed in the network!

Sooooooo disappointed this show got canceled. It was well written, had a good cast of characters, and great chemistry between the lead and his love interest. Very interesting concept as well – and what fun to re-visit the 70s. The studio should have been more patient. Many other good shows were poor in the ratings for the first year or two…cheers, seinfeld, conan just to name a few. Shame on them for canceling. 8 million viewers is a lot of viewers considering the advent of the Internet, on-demand options, etc. Can’t judge by figures that were relevant 10 years ago.

It seems that whenever I get to liking a show, it gets cancelled, but then I suppose that you’ve heard that one comment before? Anyway, I just don’t understand how in this vapid “playground of preposterous programming”, a show which stands worthy of being viewed respectably gets axed for some, doubtless reality series about some stupid someone who’s trying to get rid of someone else, and will probably get cancelled or limited itself. I guess that I don’t have to have a show to watch faithfully every week in this limitless, computer, cable TV, DVD world. Thanks anyway for entertaining me for a season ABC…But as usual you are “ASS, BACKWARDS, and COUNTRY” .

What a terrible ending. It negated everything that they set up. The father mother thing was all meaningless. “It was all a dream…” is the worst cop out that TV has ever given us. To make it worse we’ve seen that, learned our lesson, and should never see it again… then it shows up here to wrap up a show that had great promise. It wasn’t even left open to go to a better network or a new format. ashes to ashes.

I was blindsided to I DVR all my episodes and when I read the info I was surpised to see Series Finale!

The first half of this season was incredible!!!!
Second half was keeping me in there but missing the tie to the future. The first half had you guessing more…maybe it this or maybe its that!

OF course ABC has cancelled Life on Mars. It actually was a show that had stories with a plot and you had to think about to watch! I will not be watching any new ABC shows from now on. First Dirty Sexy Money goes off the air with NO closure and now Live on Mars is gone also. ABC continues to air mindless drival like The Bachelor and Life In The Motherhood yet can’t be bothered to air shows with some intelligence. Growing up many of my favorite shows were on ABC but this time they have lost me for good. I will continue to watch Grey’s and Private Practice but will add no new ABC shows to the ones that I watch on a regular basis.

I loved this show and am pissed off that another great has been canceled. Maybe the network should actually run shows the whole season rather than just part of one. Also they need to stop switching show times around. Life on Mars was originally on after Grey’s (the perfect time slot). There are only 3 shows I care to watch, Grey’s, Life on Mars, and Reaper. The majority of shows on TV are crap.

Let me just say that I am truly disappointed with the finale and the cancellation of this show. I guess I have been too busy at work to pay close attention. I thought this was the season finale but I guess I misunderstood. Needless to say when they all turned into astronauts they literally jumped the shark. I guess if you are going out you might as well go out with something that will leave people talking. I may be in the minority with this opinion but I felt this show deserved a better ending than what I just watched. Hopefully NBC will give ER a better send off tomorrow night.

Well….another great show bites the dust.

ABC once upon a time had great Emmy award winning shows.. Think of The Wonder Years, Moonlighting, Thirtysomething, My So Called Life and a wonderfully weird show called Max Headroom.

Now, it’s just the network of bull***. Crap like the Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars keeps the stupid braindead masses on edge.

This truly sucks. Life on Mars, Lost, and Breaking Bad are the only shows I actually make a point to watch or at least DVR every week. I thought the characters and writing was creative and interesting. I was shocked when they announced the SERIES finale for this week (just got a chance to watch the March 25th episode last night). Truly a bummer and a bunk move by ABC. Unfortunately once they wrap up everything in the finale there isn’t much else to do.

Please, whoever is in charge of programming at ABC, rethink the decision to cancel Life on Mars. Finally a creative, entertaining, thoughtful show comes to network television and you throw it away. There were characters here we could care about! Putting that show on hiatus all those weeks was a death sentence and you know it. You didn’t give it a chance. It’s the only show we waited for every week. Have the good sense to realize you made a mistake, and give life back to Life on Mars. You didn’t advertise it enough. Why does ABC cancel all it’s really good shows and leave the crap on???
Boston Legal, Eli Stone, Life on Mars. All great shows and what do you do?? cancle them before they get a good following.

Grow up ABC and show some good TV for people over 50.

I’m a retired NYC Police Officer. I usually don’t like police shows, but this show was different it brought the past & the present together. Harvey Kietel was the best Lt. on TV I’ve ever seen, even Kojack took a back seat to him. The music, acting, storyline, & writers were superb. Ask real cops if they liked it and you’ll get a BIG THUMBS UP.

This is a good show and it was different. I wish another station would pick it up. The show has great actors and a good storyline.

Life On Mars is THE BEST show on the air. With so much junk, why would you even consider canceling something as good as this? Maybe you need someone who actually watches TV to decide what should stay and what should go.

It’s the ONLY show that my husband and I watch weekly. It’s characters are superb, the writing is the best, it’s original. Think again, BRING THIS SHOW BACK!

This is huge mistake!! My husband and I are extremely busy during the week, but this is one show we never miss. The series has been increasing getting better this season and it’s a real shame that we will not get to see these amazing actors take their characters any further. This was the only ABC show I watched – maybe this “good show” didn’t fit in with the other crap they have to offer!! Back to Fox and NBC I guess!

really good shows are so rare…….this show had it ALL…i’m so disappointed…..what is this world coming to..it’s getting harder and harder to fine a reason to even turn the tv on………………………..
