well viewers. It will be a year this April, that ABC really screwed up by canceling a show that was really good and wasn’t given a chance. Last year at this time I started writing to ABC, and until my computer crapped out on me had comments on every blog there was about this show. I still write to ABC and tell them what idiots they were to cancel this show. I still have not tuned into ABC since then.

Вы не может остановить этот замечательный показ! Этим Вы ударите на сердцах многим поклонникам из России.
Это – лучший сериал от всех просмотреных мной! И не только мной! А еще очень многих ваших фанатов! Британская версия может быть и оригиналом, Но то что Амереканская версия всего лишь ремейк, не значит что дерьмовый ремейк! Напротив она понравилась мне гораздо больше чем версия британцев! Магия! Я не спала каждую ночь, когда шла “Жизни на марсе”, с нетерпением ждала каждую новую серию ! И герои в версии США так или иначе более стали связанными со мной.
Вы сделали настоящий фильм! Здесь есть все и любовь, и криминал, и мистика, и самая важная вещь – небо… Место. Марс. Я знаю, что Сем, проснушвшись в космическом коробле понял, что 73-летний была во всем мечта! Это было реально! Существует только настоящие, и все что существует настоящие! Он жил лихорадочными мечтами о прекрасном мире гдето по ту сторону радуги… “Где беды тают как лимонные капли над жерлами дымоходов…”, Например 2008 год. Мечта… Девушка Майа возникшая не откуда не просит Сема познакомится с родитялями, сам Сем работает старшим детективом, который блестяще ловит преступников и разгадывает самый запутоные истории!!! Таковые мечты погружают обычного человека в глубокий, глубокий сон. И многие некогда не просыпаются! Его практически невозможно было спасти если бы одна девушка, по имени Энни Норис, которая по НАСТОЯЩЕМУ любит(я не могу не воспроизвести ее слова в 16: “Все это настоящие Сем! Внутри ты тоже настоящий! И мои чувства к тебе НАСТОЯЩИЕ”, на самом деле эта сцена заставила меня по настоящему плакать…” серии Тайлера, не протянула руку помощи. Сем стоял перед выбором “Настоящие-не настоящие”. Пора жить! И сем выберает настоящие. т. е. целует Энни и обнимает своего отца Тома(Джина Ханта). И просыпается!

Спасибо вам за этот чудесный сериал, он заставил меня думать и довел до слез!

Всем сердцем я жду продолжение! Прошу вас не разбивайте его!

The British version can be and the original, but that that Amerekansky only “remake” does not mean that it is a crappy remake. On against! I liked your version though the first I looked British more. To all those people in the U.S. who love Life on Mars and are gutted at it’s cancellation,well I urge you to get hold of series 1 and 2 of the English and original version of this show-not exactly what you’d want but a least you would know how it all ends properly and it would give you the ending and closure you deserve.Maybe you’d enjoy it just as much after all it is an English idea and written over in the UK. you may even enjoy the follow up series Ashes to Ashes

My husband and I are also very upset about the cancellation of Life on Mars. I really do not understand why the good shows are cancelled and the stupid ones get to stay on (I won’t mention any) I mean really!!! there are some really stupid, dysfunctional, perverted shows on this season. Shows that families can sit down and watch together are a thing of the past. I guess this is a sign of where this country is headed. Makes me feel angry that my grandchildren really only have the Disney channel to watch, and we can only take so much of Hannah Montana and Zack and Cody. I know that Life on Mars was not really a childs show, but my point is that why take it off and leave or bring new trash on.

I was deeply upset the show was cancelled. And also if anyone ripped anything off as far as ideas it was the UK from us. This show reminded me in a way of Quantum Leap which was a fantastic show and it always left you wondering and interested and it was believable such as this. My feelings are honestly hurt this show is no longer on, I loved it. I dont think ABC gave it the chance it deserved, look at Jay lenos first 2 seasons after Carson. But they grew to luv him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also awesome groovy 70s clothing thats coming back was often featured.

I loved the show. It was a fresh twist on the same old cop shows that are on all the time. I enjoy the serious cops shows but it was a wonderful twist that this show took. I would applaud the ABC executives for putting on such unique programming except they cancelled this show. With all the useless TV shows out there these so called excutives seem to take off the more interesting things.. maybe not so mainstream.

I was not aware of this being a take off from the UK show. I didn’t watch the UK show but I feel that this show was a hit in my option. I am very sad to see it go and its part of the reason why I just don’t like to watch new shows because I know they are going to get cancelled.

I know that I made a special connection to the show due to the time frame that it was set in. I could see where the younger people of today couldn’t relate to it as it didn’t have super high tech computers solving crimes and all, instead it was very much like a lot of the shows I watched as young person. Very actor/writer oriented . I havve to give a big shout out to the sound folks as I LOVED the music in the show.

All I can say is.. I truly enjoyed the show and appreciate the writers and actors for what they have produced.

two words “baby boomers” this brought back wonderful times. this was a look at how some things have improved and how some things should truly be handled today. i.e. technology can really help in today’s world to catch the bad guys. once we have them treatment in the 70’s was a bit more persuasive and hit home pardon the pun.

I loved this show. I can’t believe such a good show got cancelled. With the stuff I see coming back season after season. The network finally gets a classy, funny, heart warming and sometimes sad weekly that develops the characters, pokes fun at life, and leaves you waiting until next week…..and it gets cancelled!!! The music was great and we reminisced about a time gone by; the characters were funny and sometimes intense; the story line was always interesting. I thought this would pick up steam and get even better, over time. The final episode was terrible. Bring it back, make that episode a bad dream and continue on with a 1st class production.

Bring it back! I didn’t know it was getting cancelled until it didn’t show up after Lost last week. I was even looking forward to an Apollo 13/ meets Lost/Remington Steele. All the shows with intellectual appeal keep getting cut. Instead we get more dumbed-down reality TV which I leave the room for. I don’t want to be around those people in real life, why would I want them in my bedroom? Producers need to look at the demographic that is watching these more thoughtful shows….I do all the shopping for my family and I watch this after my kid goes to sleep. Our demographic may be smaller, but more useful/attractive to advertisers.

Really liked the show. Good job on acting, and retro set production. A least never got a chance to get bored with it and never hit the ‘drag on’ point. Ending was so-so. Very happy to have it get a proper ending but seemed tacky and oversimplified compared to everything else.

As much as I enjoyed this show, I don’t feel that it deserves the description of “orginal” considering that it was a complete remake (save for minor alterations and the ending) of the BBC series, thus the British version is original and the American version is anything but. And to complain that is was cancelled is pointless, I didn’t even notice, I wasn’t expecting more than the original version’s length and it was very close to the same number of episodes. One more thing, I enjoyed this ending (no more than the original’s ending, but no less) I thought that it fit as well as could be, the show is titled “Life On Mars” so why not make them astronauts on their way to Mars.

I can only say one thing, the ending has a beginnning, I could see them on a return trip back to earth. There were many other scenarios that could have been played out but this one should have had a LOT more thought. I loved these actors I’m sorry to see them go.
Now were left with the new series. GREAT! Frankly ABC its time for you to take a voyage to Mars and stay there.

I absolutely loved this show!!! It was the first show, in a very long time, that I was anxious about the next weeks episode to air. It had such a wonderful cast and writers! I had never seen any kind of advertisment for it, and while channel surfing one night, I stumbled on it. Of course it was in the middle of the season, and I was lost on some of it, but that didn’t matter, it had hooked me. I am SO ANGRY that they cancelled this show!!! BRING IT BACK!!!!! Make the last episode another dream of Sam’s!!! We need good T.V. And this show was so unique to everything else that is out there right now!!!

I loved Life on Mars. It was an interesting concept, wonderful writing and very talented actors. But, networks do not give good shows a chance anymore. Reality tv, what an joke that is, has taken over. The hiatus in the middle of the series killed it. It seems to me if the show does not come out of the gate making more money and catching more viewers than any other tv show ever has it is quickly cancelled and we are left with another crappy competition show in it’s place. I’m about to give up tv altogether because everytime a good show finally comes on it’s gone in an instant.

I LOVE Life On Mars, Typical that it would get the cut. Nobody I know but me watches it, probably because it has NO advertising, maybe they should have worked on that before airing the show, I never knew it was gonna happen until the first episode, and I NEVER saw a commercial for it except DURING THE ACTUAL SHOW.

Oh yes, the ending. It was horrible. It wasn’t happy, it was just stupid! I didn’t want some sci-fi crap, I thought the reason he went to 1973 was MEANINGFUL, not just some magic crystals meeting an air glitch or whatever the hell it was. The characters on the ship all felt out-of-character, Annie acted all cold and snotty, Gene was all passive, Ray was an obnoxious GOOD BUDDY kind of guy and Chris was like an extra. Lame, lame, lame. Those poor actors where probably killing themselves, the idea for the end of the British version sounds SO much better!

I am feed up with network television now. The only two shows I have taken the time to watch have been cancelled. I was a Jericho fan it hit the fan and just when my wife and I began to make time to watch Life on Mars it endures the same fate. And you wonder why people are going to the internet and discovery channels. I have lost all faith in network television. You guys can’t see pass the reality shows along with all the other junk of tv and they stink big time!

This was a great show. A cool mystery, a meaningful love story, and well, different!
I am sad to find out ABC canceled the show.

wow! considering they had didnt know they were cancelled until they were already shooting waht turned out to be the last episode, they did an amazing job of wrappng it up! the feeling of bein in a coma hooked up to machines, and all the space refrences all made sense! very creative! i will this show alot. i would blame the cancellation 25% on the general bad taste of americans( it was a hit in england)and 75% on the networks who messed with the scheduale so much.now what am i supossed to watch? dancing with the stars?

Good show, good ending.
The entire show being a dream was a little like the St. Elsewhere ending where in that show the entire series was in the mind of an autistic child but this was a solid ending. You had to like the love story between Sam and Annie. All of the references about “Gene Hunt”, “2B”, “Hyde”, “Windy” were nicely done.
The only question I had was the one of the Lisa Bonet character. Even though she was hardly on the show that reference was never cleared up.

My wife and I love the show! Especially me. I grew up in Paterson, New Jersey and spent a lot of time in New York. The show brought back some great memories. The cloths, the cars, the music, the landscape, the dialect, made you feel like you were actually back in the 1970’s. They did an outstanding job recreating that time and place in history, and the cast was excellent also. My thought is if another network had this show it would be back for another season. ABC screwed it up. Well, for those of us who are fans of the show lets be glad we had at least one season of one of the best shows on television.

Have seen all two seasons of BBC version of Life on Mars and the first season of Ashes to Ashes…This could have translated really well in the U.S. if only they didn’t keep moving the time and the day…After a while I didn’t even know what day it was on? I missed like a whole month of it. I think NBC should pick this up as shows seem to last longer there.

I was surprised to see the last episode as being the series finale. It was only at 17 episodes and the series was going strong. Oh yeah, I am not a pinheaded ABC exec. I loved the show and agree with most of you about the reality crap that is being churned out these days. I think the ending was ok, but the time after he woke up should have been at least half the episode. I thought he should have woken up from a coma and then looked up the old folks from the 125th and found that they actually existed and actually remembered him. That would have been a great twist. Oh well, the creativeness of ABC is non-existent. Reality shows cost far less then real ones and there are a lot of brain dead people that eat them up.

I’ve been disappointed by network television for a while now, and I’ve found shows I can appreciate on cable (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Nip/Tuck). Then I found a couple of promising shows like Pushing Daisies and Life on Mars — I was actually getting back into network television there for a while. Too bad those shows were canceled in favor of the craptastic reality shows. I guess it’s back to AMC, USA and FX for shows that really move me.

ABC is definitely batting a thousand…They cancelled Boston Legal, Dirty Sexy, Money, Eli Stone and NOW LIFE ON MARS!!! Networks worry about Cable Television & the Internet stealing their audience…WELL CONGRATULATIONS!!! TOM was the last program on your network which had any twist & spark from the usual love/hate or the latetest trend of REALITY-MANIA. I guess it’s Cable, The Internet & DVD memories to relax by. GOODBYE ABC!!

Yet another great show canceled. I don’t understand why you didn’t promote the heck out of this show. It did VERY well in the UK! Do you really think all we want it reality show stupidity? I think I’ll order my copy of LoM–UK version. You should really give this programme another chance and you might just find you had a winner on your hands. Don’t let this slip through your fingers like New Amsterdam did. If you don’t want it, give it to SciFi and let them run with it. It deserves another chance. Please reconsider.

Great acting, great writers. Of course it will get canceled. Reality shows are almost free to produce compared to quality show like LOM. Last year another quality show like New Amsterdam was also canceled. It’s a shame. I looked forward to LOM every week. I don’t know how ABC will replace. Please, please get another network to pick it up. This is quality TV.

The ONLY tv show I actually watch on ABC and you have to pull it…. well, I guess I’ll go back to CBS and NBC now. It’s too bad you listen to ratings numbers only and that’s what makes you decide to cancel it. Good quality acting, writing, and 1970’s music and you have to cancel it…….you should be ashamed

intelligent well written and acted show which challenges viewers to actually think about what they are watching.Apparently there are too many tv viewers who have the instant gratification mindset and do not want to have to think too much.This fine show on a weekly basis amuses,entertains,and gives my wife and I several points of speculation.While more episodes of LOM would be greatly appreciated, we would like to take this moment to thank all involved for letting us share in their story.We have surely enjoyed running with you just wish it could have been longer.

Please reconsider this Abc. Alot of good people really liked this show and Ihappened to be one of those people. Tell me what would have to happen for you to put it back on the air? You can’t always judge something by numbers. Get rid of some of those reality shows instead. This is an outrage. Please don’t do this. I may not be but 12 but it was a wonderful show even though Imay not have lived in the 70s it has been a very enjoyable show so far, and you know come to think of it you guys do always seem to get rid of the best shows. Ohh! 1 more thing this is 1 less viewer that you will have. : ( : (

Another great show bites the dust while those STUPID reality shows keep growing. This is the ONLY thing on TV I watch. Graduating high school in 1973, it has everything I remember from that time, from the clothes to the furniture and dialect. How many of you, at the end of the March 18th show, sat there with your mouth hanging open when Ray and Chris were shot? If that isn’t writing that will get your attention, I don’t know what is. We have involved ourselves in a series that not only makes us care about Sam and his quest to figure out how he got to 1973, but also his relationship with Annie, and the personal lives of Gene, Chris and Ray as well! It’s very sad that this show has to end. Kudos to everyone involved in giving me something wonderful to watch every Wednesday.

I absolutely adore this show. It takes me back to a kinder, gentler time, and brings back memories so near and dear I want to cry. Finally, something innovative, creative and cutting edge, so naturally it gets axed. Guess it requires too much thought and imagination for today’s audiences.

Please reconsider renewing this awesome, classically different series. Other networks out there, are you listening?

I am pretty distraught, I watch Life On Mars every week. The actors are great and it has an interesting plot. I think that ratings can be a bit skewed because I watch the show on abc.com and that does not gyet added on. Sorry Britany, I am not going to boycott abc, I watch Greys Anatomy.

how can such a creative, different series be killed because everybody else is watching a by-the-numbers, no-writing show featuring, for the gazillionth time, a bunch of loser signer wannabes.

I’m very disapointed in ABC. This is one of three shows I watch on their network. It takes season after season to wind down the never ending “make it up as we go” or “smoke some more weed and write another episode” series LOST. (I like LOST but it’s begining to get on my nerves.) and you can close this great show in one fricken season. Let LOST get FOUND and keep this series on the air! It’s ABC’s own fault…switching it around, gone for two months… Send some TARP money their way because they are just as big of idiots as AIG and Wall Street. Oh, here’s an idea…How about a reality show about execs at ABC being fired one by one when people at home get to vote them off for beind complete and total morons!

I can’t believe they are cancelling this show! What a different approach to a drama series, not your everyday cop show. And I can’t say enough about Harvey…he is so great in this series, he really brings it! I believe ABC is making a wrong move.I will miss you Sam, Ray, No Nuts, Gene you were all great, hope you all can continue with another series, maybe on another network!!!

I am so disappointed!
What an amazing idea that could have run years given the opportunity to gain a toe hold. I so believe that networks are their own worst advisors.
I refuse to watch ‘reality TV’ (garbage) and was delighted to have found something that captured my imagination and I looked forward to watching. Never missed it.
I think the network made a huge error.

I use my DVR for 3 shows, this was 1 of those 3. It’s probably just way cheaper to put on a “reality” show where you can use some dummy as a host, and you don’t have to try to hire anyone with any creative talent to write, or any acting talent either.
