Love this show! Please do not cancel. We DVR and watch every week. It is the one show that we always make sure to watch. This is the best show on TV right now.

Longmire is outstanding. The different plot threads woven through the episodes are fascinating. The acting, direction and camera set ups are excellent. The show is consistently is entertaining, intelligent but not esoteric, and is accessible to general audiences. The story arcs, with real life characters who deal with often unusual situations, are well plotted and written. We care about the good guys, can’t stand the bad ones and the character parts are well drawn and performed. As has happened often this year, characters change in unpredictable and interesting ways. A show like this needs to be renewed and expanded. The main problem is that there are too few episodes each year. Once the audience is being drawn into a season, that series is finished. Viewerships are built; they cannot be abandoned just as the audience is becoming used to their show repeating each week. People talking about this show or recommending it to others usually stop because the year’s season ends. Trying to pick up that audience or expand the viewership by starting a new season more than a year later will not realize the show’s market potential. We are told constantly about profitability being more important than quality in the television industry. Here, the limited seasons and delays between seasons actually harm those business objectives. This show could gain a larger market and be even more of a success; it is that high quality. The production costs cannot be exorbitant, so the gamble here is less than those which producers and networks regularly make for less valuable shows. As others have written, many of us watch A&GE only because of Longmire. There is enough childish, pandering junk on television- including blood feasts. We need to retain and appreciate the adult, quality, entertaining programs like Longmire. More not less is better with this show.

You nailed it, Tony. Well said. This is one of the best shows on TV and I hope A&E realizes it before it is too late. The fans of this show are very rabid and hopefully we will get another season or three and more episodes per season.

Well said. I just wonder if anyone at A&E ever sees these comments on these blogs. Make sure to comment on the A&E and the Longmire Facebook pages or write A&E directly.

Longmire is the ONLY reason I watch A&E now, because A&E has gone the way of stupid reality shows like every other channel!! Longmire is one of the few good shows on TV – please keep it going!

I love this show. Not mindless entertainment but a show that you actually have to pay attention while watching or you miss so much. I can’t believe we have only 2 episodes left in season 3. I just hope A&E recognizes what a gem they have and renew for season 4 and order more than 10 episodes this time.

Come on guys this is great entertainment. Don’t be so critical. Go back and see some of the story lines on Gun Smoke or Bonanza. At our house we love Longmire.

One of the few shows not on network TV that I will not miss seeing. New episodes are recorded on my DVR, even when I’m away. Please renew it, again and again.

Thank you for all your comments…I’ll keep hoping that Longmire will get renewed for the 4th season…it will be interesting to see what happens in these last two shows…if they keep us hanging at the last show for season 3…then maybe just maybe we’ll have a good chance for a 4th season….I will keep watching and hoping…

I feel so pressured in trying to keep the show on IT’S TRUE! It is going in 3 different directions for finding ratings which is more than sad. I don’t believe the writers would be so pressured if it wasn’t these GHOST RATINGS PEOPLE THAT AFFECT OUR LIVES.

A&E has gone insane REALITY SHOWS and now lowest of lows BRINGING DAVE HESTER BACK!!

This is a very good show. I agree that this season has gotten a bit off track, but I still love the characters, Wyoming, the cowboy tough guy with real values and common sense…KEEP IT GOING!!,!,

  9. Mary Ann says

I look forward to every week to watch Longmire and I would really like it to be renewed for a fourth season…

But I am disappointed in the shows because they seem to be all over the place … with what looks like Branch going over the top in looking for David …while the main issue is to get Henry cleared of the murder charge against him has become an background issue…

The writers this season seem more interested in getting Vic with Walt than anything else..

With only two more shows left I an hoping the writers get back on track…

Through 7 episodes of season 3 it’s obvious the writers are mopes who have no respect for the audience. It’s been ALL downhill from last season. Absurd plotlines, characters off the deep end, etc. Craig Johnson,,,what the hell were you thinnking keeping this stuff going?
The books are VERY good. More, please! The TV show has devolved into CRAP!

    • Shasta says

Just curios you say the TV plot lines are absurd and the characters off the deep end but the books are very good. So you thought as examples the plot lines for A Serpent’s Tooth and Hell is Empty are plausible? Not absurd? Those characters were reasonable and not off the deep end? Do you think Virgil White Buffalo in the books is plausible? Don’t get me wrong I’ve read all the books and like most of them but seems like you have blinders on when critiquing the show versus the books. They are both fiction and push plausibility. Just enjoy or change the channel.
