Longmire season threeA&E has announced that the third season of Longmire will kick off on Monday, June 2nd, at 10pm. The cable channel ordered 10 episodes this time, down from a baker’s dozen in season two.

Here are the details:

New York, NY – April 24, 2014 – A&E Network’s critically acclaimed hit series “Longmire” returns for a third season on Monday, June 2 at 10 PM ET/PT. The series stars Australian actor Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire, the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, along with Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bailey Chase, Cassidy Freeman and Adam Bartley.

“Longmire” continues as the network’s #1 original drama series of all time in total viewers with season two averaging 6 million, a record for any A&E drama season delivery (based on Live+7 viewing).

In season three of “Longmire,” Walt finds himself reeling from a series of devastating traumas. His best friend, Henry Standing Bear (Phillips), is going to prison on murder charges. Deputy Branch Connally (Chase) has been shot by a mysterious “white warrior,” and Vic Moretti (Sackhoff) is unsure if she has shaken a stalker from her past. Walt is forced to shoulder all of these burdens and try to find a way to set the world right again, but one person knows he can’t do this alone – his daughter, Cady (Freeman). She will fight in court to try and clear Henry’s name while Walt continues to unravel the dark, mysterious secrets of Absaroka County. The deeper Walt digs into all these mysteries, the closer he’ll get to uncovering the real bloody hand behind his wife’s murder.

In the season three premiere, Walt deals with the aftermath of Henry’s arrest and Branch’s shooting. The search for the shooter, however, is complicated by Branch’s insistence that it was someone known to be already dead.

“Longmire,” based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson, is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television.Greer Shephard (“The Closer,” “Nip/Tuck”), Michael M. Robin (“The Closer,” “Nip/Tuck”), Hunt Baldwin (“The Closer,” “Trust Me”) and John Coveny (“The Closer,” “Trust Me”) serve as executive producers.

Please let there be a season 4,5,6….!! One of the best shows on tv. The actors, writing, scenery, is truly superior. Please keep this series going!! Thanks A& E for your support!

This is my favorite program. Hope it stays on next year. There are no other shows on tv like this one. I love Walt

Love this show so much I’m obsessed! I can watch it 3 or 4 times a week just to make sure I don’t miss something. I love the cast and characters. In fact, I can’t think of one thing I don’t like about it. I take that back — I HATE that there are so few episodes per season.

It’s a unique and, fortunately, quality show in a vast wasteland of “reality” TV.

I pre-ordered Season 2 sometime last year I think, and I’m going to do the same thing for Season 3.

Please, please, please let there be a Season 4, etc.

I will ask again since you don’t see to have a contact us function on this site. We’re coming up on week 3 of season 3 of Longmire and you haven’t created a post for the season 3 ratings. Yet you have already created on for Major Crimes that just started season 3 this week. What’s the holdup on one for Longmire?

I’ve published a Longmire season three ratings page. If you want to send an email, there’s a “keep in touch” link in the menu bar that will take you to a contact page, along with other information.

Thank you for adding the rating page for season 3. I see the KEEP IN TOUCH link now, blew right past that I guess, but I will know in the future.

It was a LONG wait for season 3. There are so few quality shows these days that when I find one like this 10 or 13 episodes and then a 9 month wait is too long. The White Warrior picked up right were the Season 2 finale left off. This episode was fast paced and did not disappoint. The episode flew by and left me wanting more, more, more. We welcomed back Walt and company and this cast is just stellar! Casting was just so spot on. We also got to see some supporting players that we don’t get to see often enough like Jacob Nighthorse, Mathias, Barlow Connally, and the beautiful New Mexico landscape subbing as Wyoming. The Cinematography on this show is so good. Even the casting on the supporting players and guest stars is stellar. We get to look forward to guest stars Graham Greene and Nia Peeples (Walker Texas Ranger) this season amongst others I’m sure. We got some answers to some of the mysteries from last season but one of the things that makes this show so good is it also brought up more questions. This is a show that you have to pay attention to when watching as little clues that are easily missed are scattered throughout that you may not realize have significance until several episodes later. This show makes you think and is not mindless fluff as so many shows are these days. If you have not watched this show yet give it a try I think you will be surprised how good it is. Start with season 1. A modern day procedural with a western flare with the wide open spaces of the western landscape as a backdrop. If The White Warrior is any indication this should be an amazing season. This show just keeps getting better!

I wanted to say we want Longmire renewed for season 4 for all the above reasons. And beyond.

One of the best shows on TV. Renew Longmire for a season 4 and for at least 12-14 episodes instead of 10.

      • claudia obermiller says

All of us fans of Longmire need to call or email A&E network and tell them how we feel. and Please do it NOW.

        • Snowdogmom says

Please provide the email and phone number for people if you want them to act. Just so you know that hasn’t worked in the past. There was a major effort to not cancel the Glades that didn’t work. I have been lobbying them from day 1 for more episodes per season and was shocked when they ordered 3 less for season 3 then season 2. Not a good sign. At least Longmire is still on and hopefully will be renewed. The season 3 premiere ratings were down however from the prior seasons. Lets hope the ratings pick up. I think a lot of people didn’t know the new season started based on comments on Facebook and Twitter. With such a long break between seasons promotion is needed, people forget, think it was canceled. It took A&E 3 months to officially renew Longmire for season 3 when they had renewed it for season 2 a week after the season 1 premiere and yet they renewed Bates Motel before Bates season 2 even ended even though Bates ratings were a lot less than Longmire’s. Bates did better in the 18-49 demographic which is all the network and advertisers seem to care about. Not sure why A&E seems to show such a lack of support for Longmire if it’s their perhaps lower ownership stake in show or perhaps it’s more costly to make. Given the other shows on A&E and their continual efforts to just turn out more fake reality, cheap to make, shows that continue to fail perhaps they really don’t want a quality scripted drama. I wish the producers had dealt this to a different network like TNT or USA. Longmire is a quality show that a lot of people don’t even know about. You never see an ad for Longmire on TNT or other networks and yet TNT places ads for their dramas on A&E and ION etc.. If you never watch A&E, which I don’t, you wouldn’t know about Longmire or when the season starts. Longmire is my favorite show and the only A&E show I watch. A&E hasn’t even given Longmire a lead in show, and instead of running the previous week’s episode before the new weeks episode as MOST other cable networks do they do a rerun of Criminal Minds. Lat year Longmire had The Glades as a lead in. Not sure A&E’s moving Longmire to Monday night last year was a smart move. WWE airs at that time which has a large followng, and starting this Monday Longmire will be up against a new TNT drama Murder in the First from Steven Bochco that has Major Crimes as it’s lead in. Then CBS will be starting up the summer run of Under the Dome which got big numbers last summer. Longmire was up against Under the Done last year too and beat the TNT show last year that aired after Major Crimes so let’s hope it does well against the competition this year but why they moved it from Sunday to Monday which I think puts it up against more competition is beyond me. The networks tend to schedule several good shows all in the same time slot or night and then other times there is absolutely nothing to watch. So we lose quality shows because they are up against each other.

We love Longmire, it is the best show on TV . A&E should advertise it on CBS and AMC. Longmire was rated a .7y Nielsen. Where do they get the ratings from. I know a lot of people watch Longmire and other shows and don’t get counted. And now people watch TV shows so many other ways. We hope Longmire is renewed for season .

This is the most well written and finest acting America has seen in a long time. The genre is to be appreciated. Keep this show on the air. It will grow.
