Made in Jersey: Cast Reactions to CBS Cancellation

CBS made the decision to cancel Made in Jersey a couple days ago, due to declining ratings. Fans of the Friday night drama are understandably upset by the cancellation and the cast and crew of the show certainly know how they feel.

Here are a few comments from the cast, via Twitter:

Toni Trucks (Cyndi Vega): “Sad 2 C #madeinjersey go so soon. THX 2 ALL who reached out. I have chosen an unpredictable career. It is my burden & GREAT pleasure. Onward!”

Jessica Blank (Deb Garretti Keenan): “thanks @MadeInJerseyCBS for the amazing ride and fans for your support- it was beautiful. look fwd to seeing you on another project soon”

Megalyn Echikunwoke (Riley Parker): “Its official. You wont be seeing #MadeInJersey this fri nite or anymore. Thanks to all who supported our incredibly talented cast and crew!”

Aaron Roman Weiner (Bryan): “A huge thank u to @mrmayason for the opportunity to work on #MadeInJersey. We had a blast. Hate 2 see it go. Now onto the next adventure”

Erin Cummings (Bonnie Garretti): “Thanks for all the lovely notes re: cancellation of @MadeInJerseyCBS. Disappointed but thankful to have been working this year. #blessed”

TV show supportCummings followed this up with a plea to her baseball team: “Dear @Tigers, my tv show was cancelled today. I need you to win the series tonight. For real. Thank you, Erin”

And finally, “Show cancelled – sad, but no tears. Tigers lost – sad, but no tears. Goldfish died – been crying hysterically & calling friends for support.”

What do you think? Are you sad or, like the cast, philosophical about the cancellation? What would you say to the cast and crew of Made in Jersey?

I actually like CBS’ other shows on Friday CSI-NY and Blue Bloods and the fact they have them on Fridays which we always hear is a notoriously slow night as far as TV shows are concerned. Crazy to me when you consider that Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas were staples on Friday’s back in the day.

Anyhow, saying that…..I actually liked this show and compared to other shows on TV, especially on Friday’s, it makes no sense to me why they’d cancel it so quickly. They let that doctor/ghost show last a lot longer and if I am correct, they tried to move Blue Bloods to another night before realizing there was a solid audience and moved it back. Whoever’s in charge at CBS regarding these things I thing may have missed the boat.

Honestly, I’m a USA network shows kind of person these days and think that network would do themselves a favor picking up this Made in Jersey show. It really fits their genre of shows in my opinion. Remember when networks let a show go for a season or half a season before pulling plugs. You know, …the 80′s/90′s. Oh well!

Some of the Big Wigs at CBS are too hungry for the Money competing for time slots on Shows, ALL REALITY is CRAP I DON”T WATCH IT. It’s driven by the Networks Management and not the Viewers, and those that are viewed by viewers don’t get enough credit, where the credit is due. And shows like Made in Jersey get cut, get cancelled. Maybe people don’t watch TV bcuz it’s the election year and everything is watered down with Political BS News. So Bring MIJ at least show it on the Web, at least that’s where I do all my viewing of all the shows. w/o commercial propaganda.

Sad to see the show pulled. The two episodes were GREAT but CBS did a terrible job of promoting it. Terrible. Love Janet Montgomery in this role… reminds me of a young Jami Gertz / young Linda Fiorentino / Jennifer Esposito.

Disappointed! Really liked this show. CBS didn’t give this show a chance. I never watch reruns, so not sure why they think people would rather watch reruns in tis time slot than this new show.
