Tonight marks the season finale of FX comedy Married. Will this end up being the series finale as well or will there be a second season?
Married looks at a married couple who love one another but are ultimately feeling stuck and unhappy in their lives. A comedy, the series stars Nat Faxon, Judy Greer, Brett Gelman, and Jenny Slate.
The sitcom premiered in mid-July and attracted 1.1 million viewers with a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It wasn’t a great launch but it was certainly better than You’re the Worst, which debuted the same night.
The ratings have fallen quite a bit over the course of the season and hit a series low a couple weeks ago. Last week’s numbers rose up again but didn’t come close to matching the first episode’s.
While it’s not the worst-rated comedy on FX, Married’s numbers are quite poor. Based on the ratings, it seems likely that the cable channel will cancel this sitcom some time after tonight’s episode.
But, what do you think? Do you like the MarriedTV show on FX? If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew it for a second season?
UPDATE: Married has been renewed for a second season on FX. Details here.
Keep it!!!! It will catch on, give it a chance, promote it better. Every time I ask someone if they are watching it they have never heard of it.
Keep it!!! Married is the best new comedy in a long time. And you’re the worst is great too! Keep them both FX!!
Seriously, this show is classic. All the characters are classic, AJ, the wife, the husbands teeth, all are awesome.
Please, please, please FX – KEEP THIS SHOW! I am loving it. It’ s like Married With Children but with more adult humor and a lot more realistic related marriage problems. How about we cancel some of the reality TV shows on other networks, this is more humorous and realistic than most of them.
And even You’re The Worst improved – it started off, eh, but got better as the season started.
Keep it!!!! It’s a hilarious, organic show. The actors have great chemistry and the script it’s ridiculously funny. Best sitcom since the office and the mindy project.
Keep it! I love this show, the actors, the stories…everything! Soooo real…don’t give up on this show.
Keep it! This show is hilarious I think people just don’t know it exists yet. Once word gets out it will take off. Either that or it will become the new arrested development get a cult following and have Netflix make new seasons and the original producers end up kicking themselves.
Married is a brilliant show and the only one on television that consistently keeps me laughing out loud. I vote renew!!!
The show is hilarious. Can’t get enough of Married or You’re the Worst! Please don’t cancel.
Please DO NOT cancel this show!!! I just discovered it and I LOVE it! It’s smart, it’s funny and it’s so L.A. I really believe if FX gives it another season it will catch on. Peeps like me just take a bit longer to find it.
Please FX, hear my plea! Remember, Arrested Developement had a small audience too, not to mention Louie!
Renew it! This show is hilarious. For those of us married with jobs and kids, we could totally relate to feeling stuck in a rut working our asses off for unappreciative children. Yes we love our kids and spouses but sort of despise them at the same time. Those posting negative reviews have got to be single and childless. Love actors and characters.
Please, please, please renew “Married” for a Season 2! I agree with Private that it can be the next Seinfeld – this season was a great start, and ended at a place where a new season can move into more growth for the characters. No laugh track is wonderful; like Seinfeld, the characters are weird but will grow on us; are they pathetic?… yeah – it’s 2014 and all of us are; and, don’t forget that Judy Greer, Paul Rieser and the rest can become so much more than their current pitiful characters, given time. I love it, and I… Read more »
Please! If anyone with the power to keep a funny, clever, and unique show on the air is reading our responses, I implore you, give it another season or three!!! Why is it so hard to hold onto the good shows? I don’t get it! Anyway, obviously my vote is to stay Married!
My favorite new comedy and one of my favorites overall! I love this night with Married and This is the Worst. It’s the first time I’ve watched back to back sitcoms on a single night in years.
Dump it! I so wanted to like this show but it never found its footing. I watched every episode, hoping it would get better. Unfortunately it didn’t. The husband is a lazy, miserable ass-hat.
Keep it really great show 🙂
