Masters of Sex is being polled by too young an audience. Really 18 y/o’s? The polling shouldn’t even begin till at least age thirty! Most of the audience in the poll weren’t even born yet as Masters and Johnson’s work became well noted in medicine; and well know by the general public.
This is a great show. It needs to be promoted, by the producers. The actors need to be highlighted within general media…in print, radio and tv. When an actor like Michael Sheen (along with the rest of the cast) isn’t promoted; there is something wrong.
Your true audience isn’t even being polled! Most people under 35 don’t even know who Masters and Johnson are in terms of the sexual revolution they so freely offer today.
Let’s get with it, Showtime. Don’t lose this important series.

Please DO NOT cancel this series! I AM HOOKED!!!!!! The first couple of episodes seemed like the series was a no go but by the third episode I was rearranging my schedule to make sure I was home to watch this series. Give it a chance!

It’s educational, written well and time for our puritanical society to be open and accepting. It’s a joy to see a show like this instead of another crime-ridden series.

I did read the book. Not sure the TV audience is ready for what amounts to (so far) soft porn in prime time. It’s a good show with wonderful actors playing great characters. However, it just cannot hide the fact that it is basically about a voyeur’s attempt at making something men slink into dirty, creepy places on the edge of towns to pay money for and watch, too, a mainstream activity. With all the great material Showtime had to choose from, I think this might have been something they should have waited a few years to attempt.

FYI, if you’d like to know more about Masters and Johnson — or my book “Masters of Sex” which is the basis for the television series — please contact ThomasMaierBooks [dot] com. On this website, there is a lot of material about the making of this new show from my biography. You can also obtain the book “Masters of Sex” at the Showtime website.
