CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.
What do you think? How would you like to see Medium end? Should some of the characters die or should Allison lose her abilities? How about Joe and Allison finally getting a good night’s sleep?

I seen Medium when it first came out on LifeTime i believe was the channel, cause the channel bought the episodes. And im like, Yes, a show with drama being delivered by a Chick.. Awsome! As the season went on, i was hooked.. The show had everything the viewers were looking for. I was glad it didnt have too much of the lovey dovey scenes shows have now..When the show came out on CBS it used to be at 10pm, and that was easy schedule for me seeing how Smallville was on 8pm and Supernatural 9pm, but when the Medium… Read more »
I agree , cbs is going to lose viewers, the only good show left to watch is NCIS, and there are way too many cop shows on this station.
Definitely a bad move. Very dumb to get rid of such an entertaining show.
I agree this show was very well written. The family was evolving and growing, the story lines were great. Sooooo very sad it couldn’t continue. It upset me very much. PLEASE can it be revived at all???????
This is The Show that we both want to watch. All of this “Reality” Crap (sorry……that Could have been worse)…………I am trully Sad to see this end. As one other person above mentioned………….a Real family, loving, caring, working through their issues (this was such a Great Show)………..I think I’m about DONE with tv shows. Any daytime show I was able to catch last year (with a home office)……….are also gone. I turn the tv OFF now. And I think that will be what I do now at night also. The Weather station will still be there………as long as they stop… Read more »
I was devastated to learn this show ended (I didn’t know the end was coming), and to end on the note that it did. I’m not kidding, I can’t stop thinking of that ending and how much it upset me! This was a great show, with no sex or obscene stuff, or disgusting clothing. I loved them as a couple. I hate that CBS made Joe die! First “The Unit” went away – another great show – and now this! I’m not going to watch any more shows, just the stupid reality shows, because I know how they’ll end! I’m… Read more »
If the show had to be canceled, thank you for having an ending and not just dropping the show. The finale was sad, but at least there was a finale. CBS, thank you for that. I hope there will be another show where psychic gifts can be utilized. First Ghost Whisperer is taken off, now Medium. Ghost Whisperer had gotten a “little out there” but it was still enjoyable. Miss them both already.
I absolutely LOVE this show! I have DVR’d it from the very first episode. I am flabbergasted!!! I didn’t know that the show was ending until I saw the previews announcing the series finale! I thought the show was evolving. Devolos was going to be mayor. Allison was getting her law degree and someday she could/would be elected to be the D.A. somday in the future. Allison’s daughters had her gift, too. Ariel could have helped people where she is going to college. Years ago on a show called “Dallas” they brought J.R. (actor Larry Hagman) back to life from… Read more »
This is the only show I watched on CBS. WRAL news is the worst news I have ever seen. The details of local stories are fabricated by their writers to make them (still not) newsworthy. I now from experience. With Medium gone, I will taking that time slot for CBS out of my favorites, and saying goodbye to CBS altogether.
The plots of “Medium” were so well planned that at the very end…the very last minute…it all came together…and it was always DELICIOUS!
Talking to dead people was very convincing.
Each character was perfect in their part and “Grew” with each performance.
Anjelica Huston as Cynthia Keener was the high point of the series for me.
I couldn’t believe it! One of my favorite shows.
I hate all those “comedies” that aren’t funny.
I will miss this show.
IN SHOCK – the only good tv show left! THE WAY IT ENDED WAS DIGUSTING NOW I CANT WATCH RERUNS KNOWING THAT JOE DIES
THEY JUST RUBBED THEIR FAITHFUL FANS NOSES IN IT
SICKENED BY CBS
SICKENED BY THE WRITERS WHO REPAID THEIR VIEWERS LOYALTY THIS WAY
BRING BACK MEDIUM JOE AND ALLISON DUBOIS – LOVED THEM ADN THE 3 KIDS
Medium is my favorite show. I love the characters and how they portray a family as a solid support system for each other. It is a mistake to end this program. Will some other network pick it up, please? Please give us decent shows that show positive family life and parents who are decent people. Thank you.
I LOVED this show, no gratuitous sex, a loving husband and wife with a good relationship…I guess CBS thinks that mocking fathers and casual sex will sell better on the tube. Not to me, and my family. CBS only has a few other shows I like and when they are gone…so are we.
I agree totally. I guess the vast majority want to see the sex and violence. Bahhh I am just about through with the whole TV thing…
I will realy miss this show. My family and I have enjoyed this show from day one.
