Melrose Place was just getting good at the end of the season. I think they should bring it back for one more season and listen to the viewers opinions more on how to make a better story plot in order to get better ratings… but deff keep it for another season.

Love the cast, they are talented actors. Shame they brought Sydney back just to kill her off. She is better to watch than Locklear nowadays. Lauren is my favorite and her and Shaun are hot together. I’m sick of shows being cancelled because I don’t watch on the tv at the time they expect. Online viewing should count and be offered more so we are not obligated to a timeslot of LA’s choosing. I’m getting ready to boycott the “CW” Warner Bros. was the Best and they even let shows continue through syndication or other networks. I’m sick of the Superficial Beauty Reality shows already! Keep new MR!

Keep it! im from london and its getting buzz there slowly but surely, its all these flipping reality shows , its like how many can i swallow up of Big Brother before i choke with repetitve BOREDOM even though the UK version is definitely better, be honest arent you guys getting sick of sitting all summer and watching just so at the end of it someone who you probably end up ******* hating gets to walk away with the cash while you sit there and contemplate why you wasted like 200 HOURS of your life!
Also, I want to watch different something besides crime shows and stupid high school drama.
Oh and i am 19 so i def fit in the age demographic that they are appealing to, so GO MELROSE!

I loved the old Melrose place and i also love this new Melrose. I mean the show hasnt been on the air that long, i say you give it a chance and see what happens…. Add more drama, more scams… I mean seriously sex sells…. The whole plot about who killed Syndey Andrews, may need to be revised.. Melrose place was about seductions, not a psychological thriller. Turn it into a soap opera and i can guarantee people with watch it..

the show is ok,but it seems to struggle with genre. the producers have no clue if this is drama,mystery,comedy or any thing else. however i think they should give the show a chance,maybe ratings will go up when sydneys killer is found,which also is stupid bcuz sydney got resurrected then died…..great. but we shud give it a chance, we gave 90210 a chance nd now its ways better nd with 2.8 its not so bad for the cw which targets teens

Melrose isnt for kids, why is it on a kiddy f-ing network? of course these kids will think it’s “LAME” cause they’re only into gossip girl, vampires, and whatever the F els. put it back on fox, where it belongs, cw dont know how to do remakes. actually nobody, knows how to do remakes these days, in movies either, GET THESE PUNK A SS KIDS OUTTA HERE. they f-ing make me sick. where are the adults? You have the guy who has been living with his woman and now wants to get married and she is not sure YET? Then you have the student who needs money so she pimps herself out…

I loved the MP. Even though it’s the first episode I can tell things will only go uphill. Perhaps proper marketing didn’t happen. I didn’t realize it was premiering this week until the last minute. Also, who is the network trying to attract for this show? teens who can relate better to 90210 and (God help us) Gossip Girl? or a more adult crowd that the original series aimed towards. Playing Britney Spears’ Circus in the trailer probably wasn’t the best move. However I was on the edge of my seat for 60 minutes and smiled like a little school girl the whole time. Please keep this show on. If 90210 can get numerous chances, this show shoud get the same. It’s bad enough CW cancelled the Game.

The show was very good. I think the people who don’t like it are comparing it to the original when it was at its best. When compared to the original when it first premiered, which is the fair thing to compare it to, the new show is outstanding. Those who say the new show has no direction without Darren Star and/or Aaron Spelling must have forgotten that the original show lost and changed its direction many times before finally getting it right; thus, it also had no direction.

All the new show needs is some time and nurturing from the network and the fans. The problem is that people don’t have the patience or intelligence to handle a new show, which I direct at both networks and fans. Shows have to rush storylines nowadays because viewers all seem to have A.D.D. If not impressed within the first 10 minutes, they change the channel. What are networks supposed to do? Canceling shows is not the answer. Privileged was unfairly canceled last season. Fox, back in the 90s, would’ve given it a chance. They did with MP & Party of Five.

I think this show has a lot stacked against it, but honestly it has a tremendous amount of potential. People need to give it another chance and keep watching. The premiere re-airs tonight and Sunday. Give it a watch and keep an open mind. I think most fans would enjoy it. Top named critics are thoroughly enjoying it. It doesn’t make sense that viewers aren’t. I don’t think the show was given a fair chance by audiences. I doubt any of you rooting for it to be canceled actually watched it.

Cancel it. I was not impressed with the barely-out-of-college crowd now inhabiting the familiar apartment complex. I watched the original show and it had fairly decent plot and pretty good character definition. This one, it feels like they’re trying to do to much with too little. Too many characters, too little character development. The only reason I’ll watch next week is if nothing else is on my Tivo.

Agreed. The CW is confused about the shows they present us. It seemed like the WB had better direction overall. Their former gem, Smallville, suffers from the same muddy trend that the rest of their shows do … they promise fireworks and give us firecrackers. I tuned in to Melrose Place since I watched the original. It instantly put us into the flash and noise and except for the interaction between Jonah and Riley, there was barely any story beyond the superficial.

Maybe the other poster is correct … without Darren Star and/or Aaron Spelling, does this show have any direction or hope? The murder mystery thing has been seen already. Veronica Mars (season 1) did a great job with that. So far, I haven’t seen anything about the new MP that makes me want to tune in again. The CW put too much into the name and not enough clarity in the script. Too much given to us in the Pilot. They tried to give us practically everyone’s story without much success.

CW is stuggling to find it’s veiwership. If I recall correctly their target is for younger adults/older teenagers. I was glad that they have taken these shows and tried to make them related to the older ones, yet have made them their own and tried new stuff. I hope that they do like they did with 90210, and ride it out as long as possible. Give it a chance. The show needs it and so does the network.

It is not the same. Why revive a show without Aaron Spelling or Darren Star (the originator of Melrose place.) In addition what adult wants to watch kids playing drama when kids don’t have any drama. Last time I checked Melrose place was about 30 year olds not 16 year olds.

Doesn’t matter, if they cancel this they will just find some other steaming pile of crap from the 80′s or 90′s to remake. My bet is on a Party of 5 remake where instead of a car accident the parents died on 9/11 or in a Suicide bombing while on vacation overseas.
