The new version of Melrose Place debuts tonight. If you believe all of the CW network’s hype about the success of 90210, resurrecting Melrose Place seems like a natural. Unfortunately, 90210 hasn’t been the ratings smash that the network was hoping for. And, unlike 90210, far fewer people seem to be anticipating the new Melrose Place.
Truth to tell, most of the early reviews have been luke-warm at best. Others have advised viewers to stay away because the first episode is downright awful. Still, the original Melrose Place wasn’t very good in its early days either.
Regardless, the CW network wants to make sure that you have a chance to see the premiere because they know that, if viewers miss the first episode of a new show, they’re far likely to tune in later.
If you miss the premiere tonight, you’ll have two more chances to see it on your TV screen. The pilot episode will be repeated at 9pm on both Friday, September 11th and Sunday, September 13th.
What do you think? Will you give the show a try?
