There will be blood. PBS has just released a new preview of their upcoming Civil War medical drama, Mercy Street.
The six-part miniseries premieres on January 17th.
Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Hannah James, Mercy Street follows the lives of two volunteer nurses serving on the homefront of the U.S. Civil War during 1862. One is a Northern abolitionist; the other is a Confederate. In a Union Army Hospital in Virginia, the two co-mingle while treating the many wounded during the great war between the North and the South.
The series also stars How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor, Gary Cole, and Cherry Jones as activist Dorothea Dix.
