Mike & Molly: Season Four Ratings

mike and molly season 4This season, CBS decided to delay Mike & Molly until mid-season or until one of their new shows was cancelled (the latter didn’t take long). How will the sitcom do this season? Could it be cancelled or is it almost guaranteed to be renewed because of syndication profits? Time will tell!

On this season of Mike & Molly, Molly (Melissa McCarthy) has quit her teaching job to pursue a career as a writer while Mike (Billy Gardell) continues working as a cop. The rest of the cast includes Swoosie Kurtz, Katy Mixon, Louis Mustillo, Reno Wilson, Cleo King, Rondi Reed, Nyambi Nyambi, and David Anthony Higgins.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Have been seeing the show since the beginning. Agree with most posts. Very funny in the beginning. Then the song changed along with the show. Not as funny especially now that Molly is no longer a teacher. I really would like for the show to continue with changes. I like both Bill and Melissa but I am beginning to see Melissa same acting persona in her movies. Either that or type cast. Sad because she is likeable.

The show’s writing in the beginning of the series was fabulous. One of the few sitcoms that were actually funny. Now, with the changes that have been made last November, it is painfully obvious that the quick humor is substandard; Molly is more aggressive and not really likeable. Victoria’s dialogue cannot be understood most of the time, as she ends her sentences quietly. Mike’s mother’s character and Carl’s mother’s character have always been hilarious. They are both wonderful additions to the show; however, they are hardly in it and, when they are, they do not have the same humor either. Adding Susan Sarandon to the mix is a mistake. I believe, the audience does not want new characters added into a sitcom, just developing the existing cast. This is, in my opinion, always a mistake. It shows already that the show is in trouble and bringing in new characters is used to add interest. Susan Sarandon’s character is not funny in any way. Actually, have a gay person on every show on television is getting ridiculous. I can appreciate why they are doing it; however, it is truly overkill, not funny, not interesting, and, many times, I think, the story line is forced in each show to meet a requirement. What happened to good writing? It is the same principal with sex-related dialogue in every scene of every sitcom out there. What a sad commentary that this is used to replace good writing. It’s not funny, so what are the writers really getting paid for. Anybody can write this!

I’m a new watcher – just a few months now. I find the characters interesting and likable. I noticed a lot of funny moments and overall am a loyal viewer but I think the show could be better. I hope it comes back on new and improved.

This show was great. Did you fire the original writers? The original openin song was great … the new one … really? Did you lose the rights to the original song? I loved the original show, this season has been really bad.

Dislike it now. Liked it before.

Would be best with Swoozie and her man , plus katy Mixon taking the lead . Swoozie is grossly under used here.
Melissa….not likable now. Mike…as what? King of Queens was similar and FAR SUPEROR to this thing!

Have only watched one or two shows for this season. I’d rather read a book or go to sleep than to watch any more of them. Not funny any more.

I am behind in watching a lot of my series recordings of Mike & Molly and as I watch an episode (maybe one every 3 weeks), I don’t find it as funny. Am thinking of deleting all of them, but will watch a couple more and see what to do then.

going to stop watching. I do not need canned laughter to let me know when a line is funny. I DO have a sense of humor and I do NOT need to be prompt by canned laughter.
