TV show description:
This comedy series follows a single mother named Christy (Anna Faris) who is newly sober and decides to restart her life in the Napa Valley in California. Her sobriety is tested by her mother, Bonnie (Allison Janney), who introduced alcohol and drugs to Christy at an early age and is also in recovery.

Bonnie’s working on repairing their mother-daughter relationship and is all too happy to offer insights into Christy’s mistakes.

Christy’s children are Violet (Sadie Calvano) a sarcastic 16-year-old, and Roscoe (Blake Garrett Rosenthal), an innocent and honest pre-teen. Violet has a sexually-active relationship with a long-haired clueless dude named Luke (Spencer Daniels) and Christy is worried that her daughter will repeat her mistake of dropping out and becoming a teen mother.

To make matters worse, Roscoe’s father, Baxter (Matt Jones), is back in the picture — at least for as long as the red van he lives in isn’t towed away.

Christy gets a job as a waitress at a posh restaurant that’s managed by Gabriel (Nick Corddry). He’s very supportive of her and they share a sexual attraction — unfortunately, he has a snotty wife named Claudia. Rudy (French Stewart) is the establishment’s thoughtless and temperamental head chef.

Christy tries to remain as positive as she can while pursuing her new path in life. Unfortunately, it’s an uphill battle thanks to a very dysfunctional support system.

I.LOVE.THIS.SHOW!!! Please do NOT cancel it! We can’t wait for it to come back on! There are times it’s so wrong, yet so funny. It addresses real issues – teen pregnancy, adoption, drugs, alcohol, divorced (or never married) parents…I could go on and on. I loved the Brady Bunch growing up, but let’s face it; how real was it?

Please keep this show going. I look forward to this show so I can LOL!!! :)

mom is a very entertaining comedy that helps people laugh and find the good in the mistakes they have made. some of the conversations are disgusting but they are trying to make light of some bad situations. it is very well cast and will only get better as they go along. don’t cancel this show; best comedy on tv.

It really is a terrific show. Some episodes appear to have been written about my own wildly dysfunctional but often hilarious family. The show has a searing sense of the absurdities built into contemporary culture, but presents them in a way that is laugh-out-loud funny! I too hope the network gives this one a chance to really catch on. It. Has the potential to become a classic.

There are not many shows where I watch by myself and laugh out loud throughout the show. Please don’t cancel. Give it a chance.

Love this show and love the characters. There are so many shows on t.v. that are not worth watching. I can’t imagine why this one would be cancelled.

should she have contemplated an abortion instead? Very mature decision for a 16 year old to make. You should have stuck around to see the season finale…I guarantee you would have shed some tears. What a gift to a family who is unable to birth their own child….

MOM is one of the best shows I can remembered. Good story line, great acting.
If CBS is in the process of cancelling this great show they are making a BIG mistake.
