Monday Mornings: To Be Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

Monday Mornings cancel or renew?TNT recently wrapped the first season of Monday Mornings, their latest medical drama. Should it return for a second season or be cancelled instead?

Monday Mornings follows the lives of the talented yet flawed doctors at the Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The title refers to the tough peer review meetings that are run by the hospital’s sarcastic Chief of Staff. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao, Emily Swallow, and Alfred Molina.

The show started off the season with just 1.36 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than half of what the Dallas premiere lead-in drew with 2.98 million and a 0.8 demo rating.

The numbers for Monday Mornings didn’t get much better as the weeks wore on. The season ended up averaging just 1.39 million viewers and a 0.3 in the demo.

Given these numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Monday Mornings will be back for a second season.

But what do you think? Would you like to see the show return for a second season or do you think it should be cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on with a bigger audience? Was the title a problem? What would you have called it?

I hope TNT renews Monday Mornings, excellent show that deserves a 2nd season.

This show was FANTASTIC. Every episode was gripping and realistic and loved the different points of view. Not every show skyrockets in the first season (look how long Big Bang Theory took to big bang?)

How do we voice our opinion to TNT directly? I want to have another season for sure and anybody I recommended the show to loved it, so it’s just going to take some word of mouth time.

This is a great program. It examines values, ethics and medicine in an intellectual way. It must be renewed or else I am going to throw a tantrum.

I was addicted to this show. I agree that it was not promoted well at all. I hope that another network picks it up!!

I enjoyed the spin on the television show, “Monday Mornings”. I have to admit, it’s satisfying to see doctors getting ‘dressed down’ for some of their antics in the hospital room. They also bring up good points (patient’s right to privacy, another side to how the doctors who handle organ donation are portrayed, etc.). I don’t really like the two doctors having an affair – it just seems to justify rationale for not working on committed relationships (marriage – but maybe that’s just me); but with all the horrible reality shows and other swill that is being hurled at us – especially during the summer season – it is a show worth watching. Hope it will be renewed.

Best series on TV. Up there with Blue Bloods and Good Wife.
Change name to Medical Ethics and Promote.

Please keep thus refreshing new medical drama on. Been a long time since I wanted to stay up late to watch a series. Like Grey’s Anatomy. LOVE Monday Mornings. I think ratings would be better if it were in a different time slot. ☺

Monday Mornings is a great show. So few decent shows these days. I hope it will return
next season . I have a medical background & found the content realistic as opposed to
other so called medical programs which I don’t watch. On yeah I am 80 yrs. old.

RENEW — Get rid of the crap reality TV … Survivor, Bacelor, etc. and put more shows of this caliber on. Monday Mornings is different … a rarity on TV these days

My husband and I both loved this show and the actors that were in it. We DVR it every week as it was on to late for my husband to watch. We also told 3 other couples about it and they loved it also. I hope it is given another season to catch on and is promoted beter by the network. It had some really good actors and actresses.

I love the show. We taped it and didn’t watch an episode until they were 10 episodes in. Never knew what it was about. But it’s mine and my husbands new favorite show. It needs more advertising to get more viewers. I don;t know if they title is the problem, but we never saw an good ad for that show and it’s awesome. The cast, the storylines…..
