Monday Mornings: To Be Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

Monday Mornings cancel or renew?TNT recently wrapped the first season of Monday Mornings, their latest medical drama. Should it return for a second season or be cancelled instead?

Monday Mornings follows the lives of the talented yet flawed doctors at the Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The title refers to the tough peer review meetings that are run by the hospital’s sarcastic Chief of Staff. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao, Emily Swallow, and Alfred Molina.

The show started off the season with just 1.36 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than half of what the Dallas premiere lead-in drew with 2.98 million and a 0.8 demo rating.

The numbers for Monday Mornings didn’t get much better as the weeks wore on. The season ended up averaging just 1.39 million viewers and a 0.3 in the demo.

Given these numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Monday Mornings will be back for a second season.

But what do you think? Would you like to see the show return for a second season or do you think it should be cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on with a bigger audience? Was the title a problem? What would you have called it?

No 2nd season??????
It’s one of the best to come along, and would be
a real shame if it didn’t get at least 5 more years.
I was surprised it only had 10 episodes. NCIS does about 23/season.
YES, please keep it going!!!

It is a great program. We watched every episode and were very disappointed that it only lasted 10 weeks.
When I mentioned it to friends not one had even heard of it.
Please try to advertise more and try again.
Great cast and story line.

I wanted to add my vote to renew Monday Mornings. I watched every episode and each one was better than the last. The actors are wonderful and the storylines were intelligent, involving, and thought provoking. The title is fine with me – I will follow this show anywhere!

This show really is fantastic! I agree that it needs a better marketing campaign and really ditch the Dallas lead in. This show has a completely different vibe. The show has a strong cast and great plots. Please, please keep this on the air!

Please renew Monday Morning. It is a wonderful show. I believe that it should be a moral
choice to improve the quality of TV. It is my favorite TV series. Other than watching the News, I had given up watching anything on TV. This show brought me back to watching a series. At last, we have a show with quality I can’t believe you would rather eliminate it than promote it. Do reconsider.

My husband and I REALLY enjoy this show. It would be a crime to cancel it. Give it another season!!! Promote it half as much as Dallas is being pushed, and the ratings will be five times higher!! Please don’t cancel!!!

Any fan of the show ( and we LOVE IT), might agree with changing the name to “Don’t Do, Die!!! We are both medical professionals and we love the characters, the writing is outstanding and Al Molina in those Monday Morning Meetings is Powerful and Insightful!

OMG, this show is OUTSTANDING!! I wouldn’t care when it came on, I’d be right there watching it (just in case it’s a time slot issue). Simply advertise it more. I wondered upon it while I was surfing the channels.

I love this show!!! It is one of the best shows on tv today!!! Good plots & characters. Please don’t cancel it… it shows people who care about what they do as well as how their character is being shaped by a great chief of staff

Great show. Please renew. Need to push harder and think about showing or telling
more age groups what the show is about. I would guess the time slot was not good
for it. I wonder what age group really tuned in to watch Dallas. Now that was
pushed almost every 5 minutes. Maybe give the teaser for monday mornings nearly as
often as the push for Dallas.

This is one of the few shows that my wife and I watch together because I require great acting and a decent plot. This is an excellent program that deserves the chance to find its audience.
