current TV show

TV show description:
This medical drama follows the staff of Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon as they push their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings.

Doctors face life-and-death decisions every day as they fight against often-impossible odds to save their patients. When things don’t go as they should, it’s up to their medical colleagues to determine what went wrong and what can be learned.

Every Monday, the doctors of Chelsea General must gather with their peers for a confidential review of complications and errors in patient care.

Leading the hospital staff are Doctor Harding Hooten (Alfred Molina) and Doctor Jorge Villanueva (Ving Rhames).

Hooten is the steely-eyed Chief of Staff, speaks softly but carries a massive stick. He was nicknamed “Hardly Human” long ago for his exacting, punishing ways during the weekly morbidity and mortality meetings.

Villanueva, known as El Gato, is a giant of a man. He is also perhaps the most celebrated trauma chief in the country — clearly the elephant in this circus. El Gato’s seat-of-the-pants diagnoses are the stuff of legend around Chelsea General.

Their cadre of medical talent includes:

Doctor Tyler Wison (Jamie Bamber), a hotshot neurosurgeon who has a well-earned god complex. Doctor Tina Ridgeway (Jennifer Finnigan), a compassionate neurosurgeon who’s willing to fight for cases that may seem like lost causes to others. Her home life is in turmoil so she finds refuge at the hospital.

Doctor Sung Park (Keong Sim) is a Korean-American and is abrupt socially and English-challenged. He’s also ambitious to the core with his searing intensity being palpable. Doctor Sydney Napur (Sarayu Rao) is a cardiothoracic surgeon who’s married to the job. A compulsive multi-tasker, she speaks quickly and takes absolutely no prisoners.

Doctor Buck Tierney (Bill Irwin) is the hospital’s Chief of Transplantation. A man driven to the point of bullish, he is least liked among the Chelsea General staff. Doctor Michelle Robidaux (Emily Swallow) is a twenty-something resident. Inexperienced yet eager, she is finding her footing among experienced giants.

Series Finale

Episode #10 — Family Ties
Hooten and Buck find themselves facing off in court against attorney Mitch Tompkins (guest Anthony Heald) after a grieving son refuses to comply with his mother’s final wishes.

Sydney’s outrage over the health of a morbidly obese 16-year-old boy further strains her relationship with Lieberman (guest Jonathan Silverman). And a seemingly harmless patient (guest Kenneth Mitchell) puts one of Chelsea General’s own in grave danger.
First aired: April 8, 2013.

PLEASE PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS WONDERFUL SHOW…..there is such crap on now that it was a breath of fresh air to have this wonderful show. I told my friends about it, we all got hooked….and then you guys broke our hearts. this was a good, clean show with drama, comedy etc. My friends and i didn’t watch greys anatomy or the other dr. show because it seemed more about what doctor was #####who. You made a big mistake cancelling this GREAT show.

Don’t understand your thinking! You decide to cancel one of the best Med shows on TV, and keep shows like stupid honey boo-boo, reality shows that offer nothing to the intelligent mind, and cater to the people who just want to see garbage! When will you decide it’s time to get rid of the waste and put something of value on TV? Please reconsider returning Monday Mornings!

Great show! It should be renewed.

This was one of the best shows in 2013. Can someone tell me how a great drama like Monday Mornings is cancelled and Honey Boo Boo is renewed?

max and kathy July 28, 2013 at 10:11 pm

Why, oh why did they cancel this show? It was such an intelligent show! We finally found a show that we really looked forward to watching each week, and recommended it to friends and family, and now, POOF! It’s gone. So sad. PLEASE RECONSIDER AND RENEW THIS GREAT SHOW!!

As far as medical shows go, this is/was one of the better….ABC Greys is getting old…TNT shoulda renewed this show. There needs to be a medical show to keep us medical people talking at work. Love USA s royal pains. Have enough violence shows. Bring it on!

Lynette Manning July 25, 2013 at 9:32 pm

Great show. It should be renewed!

Who decides what stays on the air? Nobody ask me. I am starting to feel if I really like a show, it will be cancelled … but we have alllllllll these reality shows. Geeeze!

Just like those who canceled the original Star Trek series. Someone is out of touch with
what viewers want. This was a great series.

Can’t believe this show was cancelled. Told many people a bout it and everyone looked forward to watching it each week. One of the best shows on tv in years.

Barry O Johnson July 15, 2013 at 12:25 pm

TNT blew it. They should have renewed Monday Morning. A fabulous cast. Great writing. TNT says it knows drama. Well, so far it has proven that it doesn’t know good television.

I agree. TNT should have renewed this show. Was looking
Forward to next season. Bummer!

Lorne Weber July 14, 2013 at 5:29 pm

Please, Please reconsider the cancellation of Monday Morning. This has to be one of if not the best hospital/doctor shows ever made for TV. It was a breath of fresh air and it’s realism was unreal. It was the highlight of our TV viewing each week.

Sally Krzywiecki July 10, 2013 at 4:03 pm

This is one of the best Doctor shows to come out with a realism that is unparalled!!
Please don’t let this show be cancelled, it was one of the major highlights of TNTs’
line up right up there with Rizzoli and Isles. Looked forward to watching the show
each week!
