if the series continue nobody will not die neither Captain, nor Randy, and Natalie.

only Sharona could be.

I know a gag scene they could use if they do ever make a Monk movie, which I sincerely hope they do. Have you ever had trouble with the automatic soap dispenser and faucet in the lavatory? They stop too soon and won’t came back on no matter what you try, sometimes. At an airport I once had to try 3 or 4 different sinks in order to wash my hands. With Mr. Monks’ love of cleanliness and aversion to germs, I’m betting he could get some laughs out of that!

i think there should of been 10 seasons since it was his faviort number!! so why not do two feature movies to were its like 10 seasons. for the first movie it could be about how monk is doing with his daughter and still a detective. it could show a big case were they need randy to come back and help out and at the end of the movie he gets hitched with sharona. natalie continues her relationship with the new boyfriend and is pregnet! monk has a huge case were dale the wale did and he tries to kill his daughter. leland continues being captian and loving his wife. they finsh the movie with monk daughter in trouble and starts the second movie and i think the writers can finish it with better ideas than me

Most of the ideas here would be great for a new episode, but NOT a movie. Randy/Stottlemeyer/Natalie running into trouble and asking Monk for help is just like another episode. We need a blockbuster. We need something that will move the Monk story forward. Problem is, the finale had pretty good closure. No questions were left unanswered, and everything went back to normal. Molly could be developed, but no one cares about a character that appeared in 2 scenes in an episode, and it would be unwise to waste feature-time on her.

With no option to carry-on the Monk storyline, the only choice is to have a huge, huge, huge blockbuster case. By huge I mean conspiracies involving the president. Bring in the FBI, corruption, torture, fugitives, and we will have an excuse to bring the great cast of Monk, Natalie, Leland and Randy together on the big screen. I won’t list ideas because the script-writers have proven to be the most competent. But we can all imagine it will be along the lines of Monk seeing something that nobody else does about the president, and the veil of lies and propaganda begin to unravel.

Trudy’s daughter is Monks’ stepdaughter–unofficially. She would somehow figure into it. As she is a photograher maybe she sees she accidentally photographed a murder–now she needs Adrien’s help. Randy and Sharona are married as her first marriage was annulled.
Benji and Julie are college schoolmates and friends. They could both be theatre majors. Somehow they know the murder victim after seeing Trudy’s daughter’s photo. The victim was another schoolmates…

Dale the whale gets out of prison, Dale has Leland’s wife murdered for Leland putting Dale in prison. Dale frames Leland for the murder. Leland escapes while being transported to jail after his guilty verdict and goes into hiding to try and solve the case himself. Leland contacts Monk and Natalie who have moved away from the city to help. Randy has moved back to San Francisco with Sharona to be back on the force and has to chase after Leland as the murderer, In the end Randy winds up helping Leland because he finally realizes Leland didn’t do it. Monk gets all the evidence he needs to solve the case, prove Leland innocent and put Dale back behind bars. Years later Leland is standing at her grave. His X-wife shows up beside him that day. They eventually get back together… The End

Ideas for movie:

* Monk and Capt. Stottelmeyer and both of Monk’s assistants, including the first, save Randy’s career by solving a murder case.

* Trudy’s daughter is accusedof murder, and Monk solves the case.

* Trudy is still alive because it was Trudy’s look alike who was killed in the car bombing. The look alike had fallen in love with the lawyer who thought he had killed Trudy. Trudy did not show up sooner than soon after the series ended because she had amnesia after her lookalike almost killed her.

They can’t do that for two main reasons. 1. Who survives a car bomb? And 2. Remember the episode where monk couldn’t sleep because of the woman and when they finally met she had trutys eyes surgically put in because her’s were going blind.

I had the recurring thought that Ethan’s wife begins her quest to kill both Monk and Molly, possibly even Natalie. She is so bitter that her husband has been taken from her, complicated by the fact that he had deceived her, that she is fueled by the obsessive thought of revenge. Even though the thoughts are misdirected, it could also play up the psychiatric influences and involve Dr. Bell. There are then many possibilities for the return of Randy and Sharona. As a sub plot, Benji and Julie could begin a relationship.
Lots of ways a reunion show (s) could go. I really miss the show and would like it back in any format.

Yes, Eddie, I think most big fans of the show saw the connection between the pilot & the end. I also noticed some discrepencies throughout the run. During, a flashback when he goes back to Berkley for the reunion, he meets Trudy at the library. Yet, in Mr. Monk goes to a Baseball game he comments to the famous player who is going for a record & whose lover was killed that he met Trudy when he was a cop & so is trying to be the man he was when she knew him. They had a great 100th episode where Monk solves his 100th case, yet 2 or 3 years before Julie & her friends give Monk 100 trophies for all the cases he’s solved for solving the murder of their coach. And most importantly, in the episode where Monk works in a store, the guard who had been a cop says he was with Monk in the squad room when he got the news about Trudy & Monk never laughed again. Of course, in the finale, he got the news at the birthing center. One other note–if he knew at the end of the 6th episode that a judge was involved, shouldn’t he have been looking into all the judges in the area? And the poison in the finale–the writers admitted they pretty much made that stuff up, but wouldn’t it have damaged his organs if the had it in his system that long? I’m just saying. Still loved the show & the little things they would put in–Monk saying he’d never seen Wings, Marcy Mavin “naming “all his cases & Monk wondering where she got the names, Monk, Sharona & Natalie never locked their doors, & everything was on Vinton Street.

First of all, Monk in a relationship would be a terrible idea. Trudy is his one and only true love and no one could replace her.
Second, I have commented on this before but I would like to see some feedback.
Did anyone else notice Andy Breckman’s brilliant connection between the first and final episode? In Mr. Monk and the Candidate, Monk says something along the lines of, “My stove, I think I left it running.” At the end of Mr. Monk and the End Part 2, Monk goes into his kitchen and checks to make sure he has turned off his stove before he leaves to a crime scene with Natalie.
Number Three. Mitch case=good idea Another idea is to simply have some major case (serial killer/assassination) that police chiefs all over the country are called in for. That would bring Disher and Sharona back. Of course the crime would have to take place in San Fracisco.
Fourth. Sadly we cannot bring Stanley Kammel (Dr. Kroger) back from the dead.
Fifth and final. WHY DID KEVIN DORFMAN HAVE TO DIE?!?!

Deb apparently did not see all the seasons and episodes…

There was already an episode where Trudy came back, but it wasn’t really her… I think they confirmed the death of his wife in that episode along with proceeding episodes.

Sharona is with Randy – and so that possibility is out.

Adrian also showed through out all the seasons the unwillingness to move from Trudy and start dating other people. I do not see romance love in Monks future, but love of a different kind.

The Storyline:

Develops the relationship between Molly (Trudy’s Daughter) and Monk. Perhaps even scaring Molly into, “What did I get myself into?” type of thinking. There were many significant moments in the last episode which can go many different ways. When the book closed on the season, it closed the Trudy Mystery. The viewers do not know Molly and I can almost bet that many of us would like to see what kind of relationship unfolds and what they get themselves into.

Something along the lines that Randy has a big case at his new job and he can only think of one person to find out what happened. Alittle spice from Sharona and Nat would make the movie’s touch.

Why not start of with a movie off Trudy coming back? She had been in hiding for years because Ethan Rickover (Craig T. Nelson) wanted her dead.. She found out about it, faked her death, and went into hiding. Of course, at least a year or two had to pass from when he figured Rickover “killed” Trudy, and after Monk has fallen for one of the characters on the show…can’t decide who, though…it should be either Sharona or Natalie, because they know him better than anyone, and they both know how to deal with him..Of course, something has to happen to Sharona or Natalie (anything but dying) for Monk to realize how he really feels about her….it’s after he realizes his feelings for her that Trudy comes back…..This entire episode could be a dream for Monk, but then there might not be another Monk movie….As popular as Monk was, it’s hardly on tv in reruns anymore, so we still need all the Monk we can get.

I could actually go with this one. Have Molly getting married, it makes the news and this woman reads about it and goes to see Monk at the wedding. She is the one accused of murdering her OCD husband after they separated. Monk is falling in “like” with her and tries to not be a buden due to his OCD. They end up together and it follows their back and forth. She sometimes gets impatient like Sharona did. And for the first time this bothers him, that maybe he is a little overboard. It ends with the two of them getting married. The last scene, on their honeymoon, he tosses a shirt on the floor, she reaches to pick up and he says, “just leave it.”

I would move ahead at least two years and expand only somewhat on his relationship with Trudy’s daughter. I would have him trying to find what became of the woman whose husband (make him deceased)was also OCD and at the hospital in Zurich (remember, they want to dig up her garage floor). Make her become his closest friend and confidant either making it into a romantic interest or leaving it open for a later episode. He deserves a happy life and since she was so sweet and knows and understands his quirks from living through it with her husband. The plot would be finding out somehow that Dr Kroger was murdered (NOT by Harold Krenshaw cause he’s really not a bad guy, just annoying). Tony Shalhoub, you are brilliant, and I don’t want to give up Mr. Monk either. Thanks for the years of first class quality entertainment.

I think the ending was perfect for the time. It was too soon for Adrian to fall in love–he made some progress, but it would have been unrealistic for him to find love. And the writers were very smart NOT to have him end up with Natalie ala Ross & Rachel, Diane & Sam, Niles & Daphne & countless others. Good choice. If a year or 2 has passed, then maybe Monk could find love. It should be someone who has had a rough life too, so he can empathize. I’ve actually thought of a whole scenario, where Monk meets an abused woman whose father also left her as a child. Maybe the husband is found dead & she is the prime suspect. Monk, who is falling in love with her, has to prove she didn’t do it. He still feels guilty about loving someone else, tho, but in the end he gives Molly Trudy’s pillow to prove he is ready to move on. Okay, I guess I’ve put too much thought into this–I guess I have no life. Just call me Marcy Mavin!

Monk at his frst episode says, “the stove” “no, mine i think i left it running” in the last episode , at the end, bfore they go to the crime scene, monk goes and turns off his stove. The old friends all reunite and take a three hour cruise out of San Francisco.(Over the objections of Monk) During the cruise a huge storm comes up and blows them of course and they end up on an uninhabited island. They spend the next few years trying to get off the island and have many adventures.Stottlemyer and Monk share a hut together and use bunk style hammocks.

Here’s my idea for a MONK reunion movie:
Open on a close-up of a mailbox. It says STOTTLEMEYER. Close shot of a figure skulking around a living room window, prying it open and sliding something in: a letter in an envelope. Next morning, Leland’s wife, up before him, finds the letter, opens it; she sees her name in the salutation and the note reads: REMEMBER EUGENE? YOU DIE IN TWO WEEKS.
Cut to the beloved opening credits.
To get Randy back, he and Sharona are taking a sentimental journey back to SanFrancisco. From there, there is the plotline of Adrian and Natalie – with an assist from Randy and Sharona – trying to solve what is going on: who wants to kill Stottlemeyer’s wife? What does the note mean?
We could drag in Ambrose too and of course Monk’s shrink.

Natalie asks Monk to investigate.
Monk starts to worry that if they find Mitch, he’s going to lose Natalie.
In therapy, Monk begins to explore his feelings for Natalie.
I don’t know how it should end except that Monk solves the mystery.

Monk goes to Africa to reunite with Samuel from “Mr. Monk and the Foreign Man,” personally my favorite episode.

When Monk says goodbye, Samuel tells him, and I’m paraphrasing here, “We’ll meet again. You should come visit me in Africa.”

They’d call it “Monk in Africa” (to parody the title of the awful film “Shaft in Africa.)

Monk would have to solve Samuel’s murder (something I’d like to avoid) or another murder that occurs while Monk is visiting Samuel in Nigeria.

My personal favorite episode was “Mr. Monk and the Foreign Man.” At the end of the episode, Samuel said he will see Monk again and that he should visit him in Africa. That could easily lead to a movie called “Monk in Africa” (to parody the title of the awful film “Shaft in Africa.”)

They could either kill Samuel (something I wouldn’t suggest) or someone else dies on Monk’s visit to Nigeria, so that Monk has a murder to solve.

I’d just love to see an extension of my favorite episode.

What I would LOVE to see is for Monk to get in to a relationship. One that is actually viable and fit for his character. Now that Trudy is truly put to rest he can feel like he can move on and him getting in to another relationship would be a good thing and a reason to do a reunion movie too..

Okay, I miss Monk!!
Here is what bothered me about the finale:
Steven: random, irrelevant, he lacked any personality, he was Mitch’s BFF and that’s weird that him and Natalie have a “relationship”, he’s boring ,he doesn’t fit well in the story. he doesn’t seem like someone for Natalie.
Molly: Another seemingly irrelevant character. Sadly I noticed that Monk only loved her because she resembled Trudy so much. She is 26 and Monk wants to spend all his time with her, but a 26-year-old probably has other priorities.
Here’s what needs to happen.
Mitch’s death was left uncertain, Steven should somehow be responsible and Natalie will find out and ask for Monk’s help solving the case. Maybe Steven should threaten the life of Natalie and Monk will come to the rescue and Natalie realizes she enjoys spending time with Monk and not Steven.
and Molly should move away. Monk should replace a few Trudy pictures with pictures of Molly. Julie should go away to college but shouldn’t be forgotten, maybe a mystery involving her. Disher should come back to help solve a case. Hopefully, Monk and Natalie will become closer in their relationship. Monk shouldn’t remarry or date though.

i cant be anymore honest when i said that the monk series finale is the best series finale in history. however it felt like there needed to be something more. something was missing and i cant quite put my finger on it. if i were to be making a monk the movie i would go with something like… where molly becomes interested in what monk does and goes to solve a huge murder mystery . that would be a quick guess, but i am sure the writters of monk would come up with something better.

I think a Monk movie would be great. I think a great idea for a movie, that would be a continuation of the series would be, Dale the Whale is murdered and in prison and Monk investigates. There should also be something tied into Trudy’s case, like if there were another loose end. Why did she ever say “bread and butter”?

One thing that puzzled me about the ending, is that there was no mention of the man with the 6 fingers, I may have got something wrong, but the judge didn’t have six fingers, nor did the assassin he contracted.
It was also obvious that Monk had started to change a little once he’d had closure with Trudy’s case, changing his dressing style and loosening up a bit. I think just knowing how his personality will develop and whether it would affect the way he works is going to be interesting.
I would also love to know whether he would eventually move on and like everybody else find love somewhere.
As for mysteries, I think he should be doing something like in “Mr Monk and the candidate”, some interlinked cases, and a lot of high quality detective work that highlights his unparalleled ability to see beyond everybody else and connect the dots.

BENJI!!! Benji should show up with Sharona at the crime scene while trying to solve the case and notice something Monk missed, then he’ll get dirt on him or something and Julie will give him a wipe! Nothing really has to happen, i just think it would be awesome to hint at it maybe as a little joke.

I don’t think Molly should die. Maybe if there were a serial killer on the loose and Dale the Whale used that as a front to kidnap Molly and stage her death but Monk realizes it wasn’t the same guy. Then Dale claims he has information in exchange for his release. But the guy he hired to kidnap her is actually someone Monk put away and that guy kills Dale before he can negotiate. Then they solve the case in time to save Molly and Monk kills the guy. Maybe if the guy was the guy from the first episode, then at the end of the movie the Captian could say something profound about how Monk is going to have to deal with a lot of people with grudges. And now that Randy is the boss over there he needs an awesome mustache. And Julie should play a bigger role in the solving of the case and they should hint that she could be either the Monk or Natalie of the next generation. Aaaaaand, Monk should fall in love with a hard nose cop chick so their kids would be natural crime solvers too. (The girl who played the cop in Angel would be good)

Monk needs a girlfriend. Natalie at the moment is off the market. But what if something happened to Steven??? Or, Molly turns out NOT to be Trudy’s daughter after all? Dale the Whale issue was never resolved – I thought sure he’d turn up dead or be involved somehow in the last episode. How about if he calls Monk, tells him he knows a secret about Molly, and then dies before Monk can talk to him? Then Monk would have to solve the mystery, with the help of his friends… and Randy and Sharona return to help out.

I think that Molly should be murdered, and Monk has to solve the case, but I also think that Sharona should be involved, but sadly i don’t think the randy thing is going to happen, he left San Francisco in the Finale, but then again Bitty left in season 3.

I would love to see a reunion movie. I just love Monk, the entire cast. I would love to see Monk and Natalie proclaim their love for each other and announce their engagement and see a wedding. I would like to see Natalie’s daughter get involved in a murder that the Captain has to investigate. I would like to see him call Randy back to help him with the case. I’d like for Randy to bring a pregnant Sharona back with him and I’d like to see Monk have some difficulties with Trudy’s daughter.

I believe it would be awesome.

Certainly the threat to Molly idea is a good one. Also a trip to Summit, NJ to see Randy and become involved in a case. Closure on Dale the Whale also would also be a possibility. Julie needing hope at college with a room mates disappearance might have traction.

Just some random thought.

Bitty also has to be involved and all the normal Monk crew especially the Captain, Natalie and Disher. Great show, Tony is a genius.

Gee, Its sad to see end monk end especially when the show has
such great ratings.
