CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O'Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned!

I surely hope they bring it back. There is real potential for the series. I hope they allow it to return and give it a second chance to prove itself.

its the best show ever its the only show i looked forward to watching, i bought 2 of season 1 just in case something happened to the 1st
Moonlight was a wonderful and the most enjoyable show to watch. the more i watched it, the more was hooked. Humans get hungry for food, i was hungry for MOONLIGHT.
I found the t.v to top better than all these new VAMPIRE series, movies showing now. it definately beats Vampire Diaries and Twilight – New Moon.
Roles were played outstandingly a well done, please we would love to see a season 2.
I’m a guy that hardly watches t.v, BUT when i watched MOONLIGHT i couldn’t get enough of it. it was HOT, STEAMY, i would love to watch more of it. Bring it back please…

i have allways been into vampirs and things like that so when ever i can across a vamp show,movie etc i will watch it, moonlight if fare the best show ever, its the best vamp show i have ever watched it even beats twilight and new moon and all the other vampire shows i have watched.

I , love the show MOONLIGHT and I think it is better than TWILIGHT MOVIES/books. Oh, and even better than TRUE BLOOD [ we all know that sex sells and it intrigues people] I know that they are at different levels, but I am sorry that I saw it because it’s to continue and their is NO, NEXT, NO, TO BE CONTINUE, NOTHING ,NADA. It’s very SAD!!
Bring back Moonlight. Please make a series 2, it is so much better than True Blood. This drama defintely rocks!
