Moonlight: Writers Preparing for Season Two of CBS Vampire Drama

MoonlightCBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.

While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O'Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”

The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”

Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page

I own the dvd of the entire first season of Moonlight and probably watch one or more episodes every day. It was the best show ever and without a doubt the best vampire show with the best character (s). To the writers keep on writing we are gonna keep on waiting and I feel sure CBS or some station will finally get the hint. The fans are not going anywhere !!!!!!! Thie new show that cbs has put out Three Rivers sounds good and if you are a Alex fan you will watch (and I am) But Moonlight had it all sex, romance, a love triangle, action and the who done it . A doctor show, how many of those have been? A vampire dectective? I only know of one and it was the BEST!!!!!!!!

I am a hard core Moonlight fan. I wish Alex well in all he does but Moonlight is and was the #1 show of all time. I recomend to all Moonlight fans out there keep up the chatter. Blog every where you can, if we don’t let it die just maybe they wll be forced to give us what we want which is more Mic and Beth. I write to cbsfeedback.com EVERY day. Moonlight had a following of 7 million in its time slot. It started the whole vampire thing. Before True Blood or the movie Twilight even came out. The Moonlight show won the Saturn Award this past July, yep the show that cbs cancelled. I want more Moonlight the movie and season 2, 3, 4, ……………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it would be a hugh mistake not to bring back this series. With all the Twilight lovers out there I am sure it would be one of the best watched shows on tv. I have bought the first series and have already worn it out. Alex O’laughlin what a beauitful work of a man. LOL Please bring back the series

I came across Moonlight Season 1 on Nexflix, and after reading the reviews decided to order it. After watching the first two DVD’s I couldn’t wait to get the next two. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching Season 1. I was really disappointed when I went to Netflix looking for Season 2, and realized that there was none. It has so much to offer the viewer, action, humor and of course romance. The chemistry between Mick St. John and Beth makes you want for more. There are so many shows on TV, that should be, but this one needs to come back. Please bring this series back to us.

I had a friend tell me how great this show was. I must admit I never watched it while it was on. Recently my friend gave me her Moonlight season 1 on dvd to watch. I have been watching for the last few days. This show was awesome. I loved every minute. I hate that it is over. I wish that everything goes right, so that we get a season 2.

I just don’t understand why there is no season 2 of the much-loved Moonlight! There are so many boring bad shows on now, I really can’t see the point in not making a 2nd season of Moonlight considering it is so popular. Everyone I have talked to that has watched it absolutley loves it, and it is really dissapointing that there is not a 2nd season. Please make a 2nd season of Moonlight!
