CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O'Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned!

Moonlight is the best vampire series i’ve ever watched on tv so i really hope that it ‘ll really have a lot of seasons to come…please do work it out ( moonlight team). The stars in this tv series are really great, they really know what they’re doing…we miss you MICK and BETH!!!
why did they cancel it makes no sense. There are sooooo many bad vampire shows on the air, that are just rehashed content of the last. At least moonlight had a original story and plot and i absolutly adored the characters. Plz people we need to bring back this show. WE MISS YOU MOONLIGHT!!!!!

This is THEEEE show that everyone is dying for and i have to agree it’s so far (for me anyways) the best matched competitor for Twilight.

The show had great actors, a great story line, why did they cancel this show and keep Violent, Viscious shows like “sanctuary”.

Moonlight has it all, it covers so many areas of interest, passion, lust, power, intelligence, life, work, friendship you name it. The actors couldnt have been better. Season 2 shall be aired if not by CBS than i hope someone else airs it. Im sick and tired of CBS changing and cancelling shows. I really hope someone else airs them and CBS gets it up the *******!

I watch very little television, but I loved this series, it was something a bit different, I also bought the DVD, so come on CBS give us what the people want and not what YOU want us to have!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best Vampire Serie I have seen!
I really wish this series would come back on, somehow, someway!!! I just finished watching the Season 1 on DVD, and need to have the story continue. With the Vampire shows/movies/books, being so popular now, it is an ideal time to bring it back.
