Mr. Magoo: Two More TV Series Finally Come to DVD

Mr MagooOh by George! It’s a good day for fans of Jim Backus’ near-sighted animated character, Quincy Magoo. Shout Factory has released Mr. Magoo: The Television Collection, 1960-1977 on DVD and it includes more than 30 hours of cartoons.

In addition to the previously released Mr. Magoo Show, the set includes all of the episodes of The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo and What’s New Mr. Magoo. It’s the first time that the latter two shows have been released in whole on DVD.

The set also includes the special Uncle Sam Magoo TV movie and featurettes which include interviews with animation historians and artists who worked on the shows.

Here’s a short trailer about the new set.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Quincy Magoo? Have any plans to pick up this set?

Between Boomerang and us parents who watched these shows as kids, I think this is a wonderful idea. And just in time for the holidays, perfect timing.
