Mr. Sunshine: Petition and Ways to Support the ABC TV Show

Mr. SunshineThough this TV series stars Matthew Perry, the skies don’t look Friend-ly for ABC’s Mr. Sunshine. The ratings haven’t been good so it looks very likely that it will be cancelled.

What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for ABC is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.

However, if you like Mr. Sunshine and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.

  1. If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on ABC.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
  1. Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
  1. Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
  1. Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. You can use this form or, even better, write via “snail-mail” to: Mr. Paul Lee, President, ABC, 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521, RE: Mr. Sunshine
  1. Call the network at (818) 460-7477 and leave a comment. Be polite and tell them how much you like the show.
  1. Take note of the products that are advertised during the show. Write the advertisers and tell them that you appreciate their sponsoring the show and that you buy their products (if you do).

Please find a way to keep Mr. Sunshine on the air. We are devoted viewers who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the series’ advertisers as well. Please keep it going, either on ABC or, if necessary, on another Disney-owned channel.

    Mr Sunshine is the one guys, this is the type of series that should not be cancelled until season 3 is out. Matthew Perry is one of the best actor you can find since 1994. Since he can make Chandler famous worldwide, he sure can make Ben shine like a real Mr Sunshine. Please please continue the series. Me and my whole hostel will appreciate it very very much.

    I loved the first 9 episodes!! It would be a shame to never air the remaining 4. It's also great to see Matthew Perry play another role that no one could have played better, i'm really loving this.

    I'm a big fan of FRIENDS,I never thought that I can relive the great feelings that Friends brought to me and then I found Mr.Sunshine.I loved Chandler and now I love Ben.At least air the last 4 episodes.Friendly,Bianca.

    However it is not a perfect show, i think it might get legendary once the characters evolved. It is a shame to see such a good concept being cancelled so fast. Friendly H.R

    Very disappointed to learn that this show won't be returning for a second season. I thought it was so different-- cleverly written with a fantastic cast lead by Matthew Perry. Seems like you could try another time slot before cancelling. Please reconsider.

    I was so an avid watcher. That was one of the "BEST!" shows Ive watched in some time. and I dont watch alot of crap on T.V. This was a show that just hit perfect. A great cast of actors and characters that just made you laugh out loud. ---- PLEASE AIR THE LAST 4 EPISODES !!! ----- At least do that for us. Dont combine them into a second season. YOU HAVE THEM... PLEASE SHARE THEM.... ---- Dont air it oposite American Idol, I dont watch Idol but thats alot of competition. ---- Honestly the show was a great escape and made me forget about all the crap in the world. Thank you Mr Perry for the show.

    Mr. Sunshine is a fantastic show. Very funny with a great cast. I was excited to see the direction and new story lines each week. Great premise and very smart. Please bring it back!

    Mr. Sunshine was a great show with a wonderful cast that was never given a chance. Why does ABC keep moving crappy shows in and out of the Wednesday night line up. Here is what would be great... The Middle, then Modern Family, then Mr. Sunshine, then Courgar town. None of the other shows you have tried have been as good as Mr. Sunshine. Please bring it back and when is cougar town coming back. I am about ready to give up on "funny shows night". Jenny Collier

    This is the first time I am trying to get a show back on. I have watched all episode so far and couldn't wait for the second season, however I see now it is cancelled. Hereby, I would like to ask to not cancel season 2. This is one of the very few shows that makes me laugh!!

    I heard about this TV show from a friend of mine, then found out it was cancelled days after it was on TV. I watch it all the time on a website as i love Matthew Perry, he is my favourite actor and i love the show. It is so funny and is a completely awesome show. I do think you should put this show back on, I would also love to buy the episodes for myself. This show definetly deserves another chance!

    In combat there are very few things that keep us smiling. However, when my Soldiers and I come in from Patrols Mathew Perry's unique and one of a kind mannerisms and Humor lift our spirits and keep us laughing. When I got back I was pretty bummed to find out it had been canceled. I know I'm just one voice and TV is a numbers game but, I would really enjoy to have it back and I know plenty of Soldiers who would as well.     I loved this show. I didn't even realize it was on until I found it online. As a new adoptive mother of 3 and an elementary teacher, I rarely get to watch live tv. I've been waiting for more episodes and didn't realize it was cancelled. If this show could be given another chance that would be great. If not, please show the episodes that were already made.

    Matthew Perry just can't seem to catch a break. He is so funny and the dry humor on this show was perfect! It was not your typical comedy and that is what I loved about it...it was a different kind of funny! Save this show!
