I am not surprised that Greg Garcia, with his many talents, is still very active in the sitcoms of 2011. I only wish they would not of end the very clever and funny ” My name is Earl” sitcom. This is one show that could bring a smile on my face through what every life would through my way. Thank-you Mr. Garcia for keeping the spirit alive.

I was never able to catch the show when it was originally aired. I work such odd and many hours and was never in the same town each night that I would have not been able to find it on the cable listings before it was too late to watch it. I am an avid Netflix watcher and have fallen in love with Earl and his list. It is a funny and sometimes heartfelt series about life lessons and sometimes just plain stupidity. I wish that there was a season 5, however it is best to go out on a high note than a low one (before you jump the shark.) But who says you can’t make a 1 hour ending or movie to end the show. I would watch it. I know that Earl will never finish his list because he will always remember someone he’s wronged or something heinous that he had done and be able to add “just one more” list item. But I would like to find out if Earl is Dodge’s dad and have a bit of closure for the show.

I agree with all of you, also just finished S4E27 and had de’ja’-vu! It seems nobody can finish a great story anymore!! I can’t tell you how many movies I would have rated 4 to 5 stars until the ending just blew it for me and I ended up rating it just 2 stars!!! Nobody in today’s production seems to have any imagination when it comes to finalizing something!
Like Seinfeld’s ending sucked, we finally got a bone threw to us with Curb your Enthusiasm but still could have been better and had to wait well over a decade for even that. Now it seems they know they can’t end something, so they just don’t end it at all (referring to Earl ofcourse)! Maybe in a couple decades they’ll show earl an old man still working on the list, I wouldn’t hold my breath though.

This just sucks. I can’t believe this show was canceled! It is the funniest sitcom I ever watched. Like the rest of you, I just finished watching the entire series on netflix. I had seen many episodes on TV, but not all and wanted to enjoy the whole show.

It would be great if they did a movie to solve the cliff hanger and maybe give us some finality with the list even if we are left to believe that Earl will work on his list forever.

I agree with the above. I couldn’t watch when it was on TV because of conflicting shows but found out I could watch the four seasons on Netflix. I finish them all and fell in love with the show only to find out that I was left hanging because there will be no season 5. Can’t you just make a final episode to end it. This seems to be a ongoing thing, I had the same thing happen with Judging Amy.
Well if you love Jason lee you will love Memphis Beat. He is great in it. Season one is complete and season 2 is suppose to start june 14th (I hope).

The same thing just happened to me! I’ve always loved the show but was usually too busy to catch it on TV. I just got Netflix though and devoured the first 4 seasons.

i think that there are enough followers and certainly a good enough story to make this into a movie without people being too lost. you could start with a little back story(with emphasis on characters featured in 4-26), earl finishing his list and then put on 4-26 and what should have been the last episode. or maybe that and then earl finishes his list with a list item that he will never make up for but will always try to, which would be to be the best dad that he could for dodge.

That was no way to end season 4… If ya had to end it, ya could have left the last one off. That Sucked!!! This was the best comedy on TV and now it’s gone with a cliffhanger. LAME!!! BTW, who and the hell makes the decision to end a season on a cliffhanger without having the next season paid for and contracted to happen! Season 5 should have already been in the works, something, friggin’ anything! How about a release of the second part of that last episode, just to gain closure? Think about it…

This was a great show. It generates comedy for teenagers and adults. I love coming home and putting on some reruns. I wish the show could continue but I’m grateful that the episodes already aired make me laugh as hard as I will at any sitcom. Thank you Netflix!

I found this show on Netflix a few weeks ago, and went through the entire series in rather short order. When I realized that the fourth season’s last show — a completely unexpected cliffhanger — was the final show, I went online looking for some hint of some kind of follow-up — even spoilers from the creator or writers, who surely must have had some idea of how season 5, episode 1 was going to go, would have been better than nothing at all. At worst, I’d have taken a decent fanfiction ending (all I found was crappy fanfic.) No resolution of any kind. I’m disgusted — that’s no way to end a really outstanding and unique sitcom. I’m half tempted to track down the creator and pull a Kathy Bates from Misery on him. Not really… but come on, it’s been a year and a half, obviously we’re not getting this show back — couldn’t we get some general idea of how it would have gone?

Maybe they bought a the right to a movie or show.. whatever it is ” Everybody Loves Raymond ” reruns won’t pay the bills.

Make a movie to end the series, It would be long enough to have closure, and I’m sure it would do great. My cousins introduced me to My Name Is Earl it has given us quality time together, and has kept us entertained since it aired. I think the loyal customers that pay $40 per season deserve to have more seasons or at least a happy ending to one of the most entertaining show to every come into our living rooms.

When I found out they wasn’t making anymore episodes of My Name is Earl my entire family, friends, co workers and my self quit watching NBC and TBS. Its not right of them to do away with a show so many people love to watch. If you thank about it, compainys souch as NBC and TBS would have the money to contune the My Name is Earl series if they wern’t so cheep. I have loved My Name Is Earl from the beginning. A show that displays great values and the works of Karma is a great way to show teens and adults what effect there actions really do have on others. By not providing a proper completion of the series just sends a message of failure by NBC. What the show was against… No matter what stood in Earls way he would always try and do the right thing. Earl is a part of every persons life but the show gave power to make right decisions and to keep trying to do the right thing. I hope the many fans don’t get discouraged and remember to do as Earl would do. It may be a show but in real life it does work and lives are changed for the better. Thank you NBC for introducing such a show as it has changed many but you should reconsider giving My Name Is Earl a proper ending as it surely deserves.

It’s a pitty they canceled this serie, specially cuz’ the 4th season ending that makes everyone know the rest of the story…
I think CBS could have paid to add some new episodes… it’s bether a bad/short 5th sesion ending than a never-ending one =(
Well… this may have happened to many series for sure…

The best ending for this story is Earl finishing his list and having a exelent karma retribution… (may be at the same time finding someone who do something bad to him who might have an accident later and start the story all over again…)

i love that show i want it brought back. There is a lot of other shows that needs to be canceled but, the best show since 2000 is canceled this is not ok. Even if it cant be brought back as series on a tv weekly i think they should get to gether and make a finial movie or series movie all at once in instead of just letting it be. I also beleive Greg Garcia
deserved an award for this tv show and hope one day movie.

My theory on the show ending the way it did is genious..because the writers told us whos father Earl jrs father was…remember the episode in season 4 where they had suprise party for earl and joys anniversary…fone book/bone book..all joys flings were there…well so was the black guy with the cowboy hat / who, i think they were trying to tell us there, everytime they showed them watching tv in joys trailer, rodeo was on…just a hunch, if they dont show 5th season than that is my closure on the show…just my perception..

If the NBS budget cuts are in any way related to the global financial crisis, then a small financial aid package to select shows (not studios as they would probably silly use it somewhere else) might be an idea – remember, laughter is the best medicine!

I just started watching tis show on TBS and then on Netflix…episode after episode of side splitting laughter…it was underpublicized and it is awesome! I love cable channels and not the primetime…CBS ABC and NBC…they are about numbers and if you are not at the tippy top you are nothing….I have seen too many shows go by the wayside….I wait until they go into syndication… I will not watch primetime television…to much other good stuff and Netflix makes it easy to catch up on it all and discover new shows, Like Earl! WE WANT EARL! WE WANT EARL! His new show is not that great…they played the same episodes over and over and over until I was sick of it…I saw 2 of them…It is hard to get a group of actors that click they way they do…they are believeable as people…I think there IS a Camden and an Earl and Joy and Randy and Crabman…who is adorable by the way….Mr. Turtle and Crabman’s secret smarts…and all the guest celebs….you know it had to be good for all those people to show up! This is a series I would purchase in DVD as I have with The Office and Scrubs…it is that good…
