I’m very dissappointed My name is Earl has been cancelled, but even worst the way how they did it. What amazes me most of many USA TV series is the way how they are managed. Some of them are elongated to death (X-Files, 24, Heroes, to put some examples) and others simply stopped without ending. To me it shows how good or bad bussinessmen are running the TV channels in their top positions. Loyalty to the viewers? None. Economic reasons? Fine, choose the best written episodes of what Season 5 could have been, wrapped them up as the BBC does when they don’t want to compromise quality and give a proper ending to the show. Pack of the series on DVD and sales increase. I won’t buy an unfinished series.

I know that I am late in realizing that Earl is not still on the air (I thought it would be back this fall – having a toddler kind of keeps you out of the loop on things) but am really disappointed in NBC. This makes me really want to stop watching the other show that I watch on NBC. They should at least make a concluding episode that would tie up the loose ends. Or maybe Lee should just write a concluding blog of his own! Instead we are left hanging. Maybe we shouldn’t get into tv shows too much (it seems that every time I find something that interests me it gets canceled).

I am extremely dissapointed with the cancellation of Earl. In my opinion, it’s up there as one of the great’s. Totally agree with others that if it has to end, then there should definately be an oppurtunity to see a conclusion episode and not to have it end on a cliffhanger as it has done with the end of the recent series 4. Ideally though, the show should continue.

I am very dissapointed. My husband and I recently got into the show and bought all the other season on dvd to catch up, now that we are caught up they cancel it!! How the heck are we suppose to know whats up with Earl jrs dad?!?!!? I hope that some other network really picks this up there is a fanbase for the show. Real reason My Name Is Earl got cancelled is because NBC & 20TH Century Fox
know now after all the evidence
that was provided by Mark Gable’s
world renown lawyers, that garcia really
did rip off Mark Gable’s script Karma. And NBC & 20TH Century Fox are embarrassed to be associated with garcia.

what kind of man accepts an award for work he didn’t create?

this sucks. the show has had it’s ups and downs but overall it has been a good show with a very interesting concept. i hope someone will pick it up but some of the cast will not take a pay cut now to go to TBS or cable. they should at least be given the opportunity to wrap up the show in a two hour finale.

Good riddance, this show has sucked for a long while. Randy and Catalina should have been let go a long time ago, they add nothing. Alyssa Milano was a complete waste on the show. They should have made it based on Earl, Crab Man and Joy.

Not since the days of “Hello Larry” has this network been so poorly managed. Cancellations of shows with solid fan bases like “Earl” and “Medium”!? Killing promising, engaging shows like “Life”?! Locking out the 10pm time slot for Leno!? “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here”!!!!??? I would guarantee you that if Mr. Zucker and his management miscreants had run this company back in NBC’s hey day, we would not have the likes of “Seinfeld”, “Cheers” or “Hill Street Blues”, to name a few. They would have cancelled them in their first years in favor of more cheap, brainless, vapid garbage like “The Biggest Loser”.

Maybe we can hold a seance and bring back Brandon Tartikoff to run this company. Might as well have a ghost run a network that is a ghost of its former self…

Heck yes I’m disappointed. The last seven or eight eps of the season recaptured what MNIE lost with the Alyssa Milano eps (Thank God that ended…I like Alyssa Milano but that arc was long in the tooth!). I am sad this show is gone – much more upset than I would’ve admitted to before watching the last set of shows from this season. Hart Jason Lee and the rest of the cast – SUPER talented group of people. Will be missed on Thursdays.

I only watch two television shows and I watch them religiously. My name is earl has been my favorite show since the first show of the first season. I had hoped to keep watching it till Little Dodge and Earl Jr. were grown. The possibilities of making up for ones past wrongs is endless for someone of Earl’s age and background. There could be several list items per day for his entire life leading up to the first episode. I had no idea that the show was in danger of being cut. I do not plan on watching anything else on NBC. There is nothing for me on NBC.

the reason my name is earl never got an outpouring of suport from the fans to save the show is because no one ever thought the show was in trouble unlike chuck which we saw signs of the show being in trouble for a renewal oh and earl is ten times better then any other show on nbc thursday night especially the office and parks and recreation which i cant believe anyone watches because they are stupid esecially steve carell who is the least funny person on the planet

The SOB’s at NBC can burn in hell! Earl is one of the greatest show ever to be put on TV. I’ve watched the first and second season over thirty times and I still watch them and laugh. I always find something new when I watch them over. I was so furious when I heard about the cancellation. I would rather watch earl a million times over instead of that stupid Parks and Recreation. I would never watch that ignorant sketch show!!! I guess this is the end for Earl. So I guess I’ll Keep wishin for one more season. Probably never happen because people just don’t appreciate a good show. Yeah the third season was kind of off but they got back on track in season 4. Everyone prefers reality and sketch shows that aren’t entertaining or funny. anyway if I ever met the people from NBC I would probably slaughter them like cattle because they have no interest for what the people want they want to put on the most ridiculous shows ever thought of. Alright I’ve spoken out because I’m an Earl fan and I’m very disappointed in what the world of TV has become.

My family and I are very angry with NBC for the cancellation of My Name is Earl.
We have very busy lives like most American families and look very forward to 30 minutes of constant laughter on Thursdays at 8:00. The writing is very creative and we enjoy every character. We certainly hope to continue watching our favorite show on another network!

I am becoming angry at NBC. I have really enjoyed watching ‘My Name Is Earl’. The subtle morality lessons, accompanied with well earned humor has made my Thursday watching Must See TV. NBC could easily limit ‘The Office’ to 30 minutes, and still run Earl.

I will be absolutely miserable about losing ‘Medium’ – Twice!

Looks like I’ll be watching more cable….. again.

The show must go on it should survive like herpes cancelling the show will make alot fans upset they might swear off the whole network out of spite .It really dosen’t matter the network could recieve a million letters to save the show but will mean nothing, like finishing second in a contest good luck to great cast that should have no trouble finding work but the great characters they portrayed were authentic.

rating systems are not fair alot of people who live in mobile parks do not have tv. They all might gather at someone else’s home so you have seven people watching from one set. Jason lee is a star whether or not hollywood reconizes it. You can’t force people to log on to the site either not everyone has a pc or the internet .In my strong opion studio executives ruin everything they touch, not being actor how do you know what the viewer wants to see. Who tells their boss I dont like the way you run things reguardless if i””m right ,you will get fired. Hey hollywoods is putting out alot of lousey movies like the music industry w/t the plague of pop music. The country is turning into a bunch of sensitive wimps. Its hard do believe people buy that garbage

I really loved this show. I especially praise Mr. Garcia for incorporating the Latino actors. I guess NBC did not comprehend the premise of the show with the word KARMA! It was great to see the Earl character make amends every week. My almost favorite was the one about the circus peeple, it really discribed some truth to societal expectations. Other than Earl, my tv time with NBC is about done.

you watch a TV show for four years and invest time into it and they cut you off without finishing the story. I will never again start watching a show on NBC. My Name is Earl was is funniest show on television. This is just more proof that NBC is in last place, because they make bad decisions. I use to go out of my way to watch it, but they kept changing the time slot so often I got tired of trying to track it down. Once it was available from NBC’s web page I started watching it again. If TBS is smart enough to pick it up I hope they will also be smart enough to give it a stable time slot. #SaveEarl

Looks like I won’t be watching NBC except on Monday for Chuck…and probably Heroes, even though the latter continues to suck.

When did NBC start to bite, seriously?

I love Earl and will miss it greatly. Parks and Recreation is not even in the same league… Strike that, it’s not even the same sport. The Office and Parks are two very lame shows with very lame premises that somehow continue to survive. I weep for the future of entertainment. Thank goodness I also like to read.

I pray that they find some way of wrapping up Earl, as I would hate to see the characters live in TV memory limbo for eternity.

I suppose that a better caption might read, “NBC Makes Another Decision That Reeks Like A Septic Tank In A Trailer Park”. I suppose that might be too lengthy though. I would have to agree with Greg Garcia that basing the outcome of a shows lifespan solely on web response is total BS. Theres a million things to blog about out there, and some of us have better things to do other than log onto websites daily to gripe about yet another poor corporate decision being made. Earl is a great character. He helps us believe that if you do good things, and lead a good life, that eventually things will come full circle. If everyone out there started to think on a positive level like Jason Lee’s character, the world would be a much better place to live in. And even though NBC killed another decent, semi-moral, yet funny,funny,funny dude; Earl at least deserves an ending. They can’t just leave us all hanging! Can I get an “amen” people?
