Just FYI: I’ve been watching the first season, which explains “Bub.” Robbie couldn’t say “Granddad” when he was little; it always came out “Bub” and the name just stuck.

Correction! Since “Bub” (real name: William Michael Francis Aloiscious [spelling of that fourth name uncertain] O’Casey) was the boys’ maternal grandfather, how could he be “Uncle Bub?” I have seen dozens of the episodes with Bub and he is never called “Uncle Bub”–just “Bub” by his grandsons and his son-in-law (Fred Mac Murray) and “Mr. O’Casey” by other children.
