Nashville: ABC Orders Full Season

Though Nashville hasn’t been a stellar hit for ABC, it is the network’s most successful new series of the season. As a result, ABC has ordered a full season of episodes.

Nashville follows the story of country music’s Rayna James (Connie Britton), a legendary superstar whose popularity is starting to fade. Her producers offer her a joint tour with an up-and-comer, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music. The cast also includes Powers Boothe, Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Robert Wisdom, and Judith Hoag.

The series debuted to a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.93 million total viewers. The ratings fell by 29% in week two, hitting a 2.0 rating with 6.74 million. While the Halloween night episode dropped to a 1.8 rating, the show seems to have stabilized at a 2.0 demo rating.

Nashville marks the second full-season order of the season for a new ABC show. The first was for newbie sitcom The Neighbors. Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue both received additional script orders but no additional episodes have been ordered.

What do you think? Have you been watching Nashville on ABC? Are you glad to hear they’ve ordered more episodes? Do you think it will be renewed for a second season?

Nashville is an awesome show! I have never missed an episode. I thought finally a great story line and actors comes to recent TV. Enough of the reality thing and american idol like shows it is stale already! Maybe if it was on at 9pm the show would bring the ratings up to the top!!! Please stop repeating episodes it is so disappointing to wait till WQed. night to find out it is another repeat. Perhaps you need to give it a chance!! I know anyone I have told to watch the show loves it!!!

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. I didn’t even know about it until the first season was over…watched it all on hulu. PLEEEEEAAASE don’t cancel another great show. It needs time for folks to catch on that it’s here and it’s good!! This so so much better than Friends, which went on for eight seasons! People will get hooked– just give them time. The whole cast is awesome!! This is the best series I have ever seen – it has everything – very rich in content, and characters. The music is amazing!

I LOVE Nashville and am thrilled that they will be on for a full season. I missed Nashville on Wednesday, 1/16/13 an am very upset about it. Does Nashville repeat their show on TV? I hope so. My computer is compromised and I would hate to have to rely on it for the missed show. Please advise. Bee
