Nashville: Season One Ratings

Nashville ABC ratingsWill Nashville fare better in the ratings than ABC’s quickly cancelled Cop Rock series? The critics have sung this new show’s praises but we’ll have to wait to see if the viewers agree and if they’ll keep watching.

The first season of Nashville typically airs Wednesday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The drama’s cast includes Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Powers Boothe, Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Robert Wisdom, and Judith Hoag.

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Nashville is going to be cancelled or renewed for a second season.

Final season averages: 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.94 million total viewers.

Compared to last year’s Revenge premiere in the same timeslot, the network was down by 15% in the demo (vs a 3.3 rating) and down by 10% in viewership (vs 10.02 million). This wasn’t a terrible start but it’s not a great one either.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

I think Nashville is one of the best new shows of the season, and with these ratings I really hope it will be renewed for a second season. It’s a great show, one that I try to watch every week. I can’t watch it live because I work Wednesday nights at DISH, but I catch it on my DVR. Nashville is set to auto-record on my DISH Hopper along with the other primetime shows on the four major networks using PrimeTime Anytime, so I never have to worry about missing an episode if I forget to set a timer.

WOW! This is the best show on TV! It’s got great actors, real dialogues, excellent musicians and music that is just fantastic. Needs time to get more people watching it. We love it!!!

Please please please keep this show going!! This definitely deserves a second season! There is so much more to the plot that people aren’t expecting. The people who are bored are the impatient ones. The show is really good and it’s only going to get better! It’s just like a story. The ones that start off slow in the beginning always have the best “didn’t-see-that-coming” ending! :)

I love this show….love the music and love the story lines! Connie and Hayden do a great job doing all their own singing! Love the fact that it is also filmed mainly in Nashville…love the town! Please keep this show around!

they would cancel, because of low ratings, in which this show has seen….sorry but Nashville isn’t a hit like ABC makes it out to be….Nashville is- boring….Cancel Please….

I actually look forward to watching this show every week and I watch it on the internet because I do not have normal TV. The music is original and I can’t get the songs out of my mind. I want to know whats happening when are they going to start up again? And to the person who thinks its boring get a life. many shows in the past started out slow and are now icons of TV such as I love Lucy, Gilligans Island so I say don’t cancel

Most realistic show about the country music business and adept at showing the “inside” stories of the record labels, management firms, publishing houses, and struggling artists/songwriters . . . so different from ANYTHING else on tv. . . and with ORIGINAL MUSIC, which NO OTHER show has, why on earth would you cancel this??!
