Nashville: Season Two Ratings

Nashville season two ratingsLast season, it looked like Nashville might be cancelled but ABC decided to renew the show instead. Will the ratings rise in season two so its future is assured or will the numbers drop so it cancelled this time? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Nashville TV show revolves around a rising country star (Hayden Panettiere) and a legendary superstar (Connie Britton) whose fame is fading. Others in the cast are Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, and Maisy Stella.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/10 update: Nashville has been renewed for a third season of 22 episodes by ABC.

Final season averages: 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The first season of Nashville averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.94 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a third season?

Please renew Nashville!!! It is such a great show. The music and drama is so entertaining, give it a chance. ABC always yanks a good show too early an continues to air things like “The Bachelor” Uggg Nashville is awesome!!!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Nashville! Never watch it live, DVR only because of work schedule.

I was a songwriter in Nashville with United Artists and others for 23 years. The show is RIGHT ON THE MONEY with accuracy. The best hour of my week.

PLEASE keep Nashville on the air -great show with real character development. I rarely get to watch it live – watch it OnDemand as soon as I can.

NETWORKS! UGH! What are they thinking when they renew horrid shows such as 2 Broke Girls, and the ONCE nice Mike and molly which is now awful???

NASHVILLE is a great show. gets better each week. Good writing . Great characters and actors! Counting weeks when re-runs are on as indications of ratings is ridiculous!!!

Renew one of the FEW good shows on network TV!!!!!!

RENEW!!! When are they going to get with the times and start counting all the people who watch the show online or on Netflix or Hulu? I’ve never missed one single episode of Nashville but guess what? I’ve never watched it live, or at the 10:00pm airtime! Doesn’t the ratings system of only counting those who watch it love seem OUTDATED?! I bet more people watch the show after the fact than in real time. Geez!

nashville is a great show and you dont need to cancel it– people wonder why abc struggles because you dont let a show develop. Good actors and musicians dont cancel it

Nashville is a refreshing approach to television with the music and story combination. I think that more people are watching television on demand than during the initial airing and ratings should reflect that trend. I hope that this show is not cancelled, as it is the only prime time show I care to watch and I look forward to new episodes every week.

The ratings system is VERY FLAWED. No one I know has ever been a ratings participant. But many of us love Nashville. I am crushed when it’s not a new episode. I really hope this show is renewed. The fact that the concert in NYC sold out immediately should be a hint that this show is loved.
