Whitney will likely return as it is a Universal property and Chelsea will probably be brought back during midseason. I can’t see them canceling it since they have a big relationship with Chelsea Handler in the parent company. Up All Night is a Universal property I believe also so that might be coming back.

Community and 30 Rock look like the automatic goners.

Save Minute to win it for the summer. I love guy fieri! also consider reviving american gladiators and deal or no deal!

I agree, I heard its definitely going through with a third season which would be this year. It looks like they have no plans at the moment to bring it in during the regular season so it looks like its going to comeback during the summer. The summer is the perfect time to air the show especially in front of America’s Got Talent.

I think NBC should’ve stuck with American Gladiators and just aired it during the summertime like they did with Minute to Win It. Gladiators should’ve did a tour thing where they go to different cities. That’ll keep the show really fresh.

Looks like Whitney and Chelsea will be returning for sure.

Whitney has been holding its own the last couple of weeks and Chelsea fits with it a lot. That’s something NBC can truly build on.

I watch Grimm only because Fringe is on demand right by the beginning of the following week. So I record Grimm and Supernatural but watch Fringe On Demand. But other than Grimm I only watch Chuck (which ends this month) and Parenthood. These two shows will probably be cancelled, considering that things don’t last unless it’s some brainless reality show, and considering the track record of network TV. Pessimistic? Yeah. I will enjoy the shows while they last.

I’m so fed up with these networks. My wife loves prime suspect like I loved firefly and I’ve even started watching it (even though I never intend too). I guess the best thing to do is not watch new shows and wait for them on netflix or hulu and stop being toyed with by these battling networks that will in all likelyhood battle their way out of business while something else comes along and takes their place. 4million plus viewers and they can’t find a slot for it. Sad.

The only NBC shows I have been watching are Community, Grimm and 30 Rock. If they cancel any of them I am through with NBC. They pull the plug on everything too soon and do not advertise enough. Sick of reality shows, I will soon be watching only cable tv.

A Terrific Show!!! October 5, 2011 at 6:05 am

I am truly amazed by this cancellation, and so drastic….after only 3 episodes!!! This only confirms how far apart the studios and the fan base really are! I initially caught “Playboy Club” on Hulu, and was immediately hooked! I thought that it was a great period piece with a great storyline along with superb writing and dialogue, all tastefully done. Retro, Slick, and Stylish…To protest this content is absurd! Hugh Hefner is a true American success story, and the “Playboy Club” brand was legendary! I remember the first (and only) time I went to the PC in New York, before it closed, around 1981. A great memory! This show gave the viewer a chance to visit the PC every week! Crime, drama, romance, dirty politics, big business, high fashion, and so much more…WOW! I don’t usually leave comments, but I am really shocked by this decision. I guess business is business, and ratings rule the day. In my opinion, the network choice, day, and time slot was the mistake. Another time (slot), another place (network), and you’re looking at a hit show! Just my thoughts….

I personally find that NBC suffers from the “If we don’t give it a time slot that people can count on, then we can blame the viewers for the reason we have to add more game shows and reality tv” syndrom. Now, not only are they going to move everything around from week to week, but they also seem to have shoved off some of the potentially best shows for mid-season, which I personally think is just another ploy to make investors/advertisers think it is the people who don’t want to watch such things.

Stopped watching this network. Tired of them cancelling good programs every year before they even give them a chance. I love football but I will not even watch football on this network.

When NBC broadcasts something, maybe I’ll watch. The only two things I’ve seen by NBC the past year is football and AGT.

No kidding, they sure know how to pick the worst of the worst and what really makes me mad is that when they finally have a decent show going, before you know it , ………it’s cancelled. Started watching Harry’s Law last season, at least if they cancel you don’t get hung out ther with no ending.

Talk about overloading the mid-season schedule. I honestly have no clue why the new president thinks that holding back the potential hit shows that are getting a great deal of hype is a good thing. But it has also inspired or infected FOX and ABC as well. Everyone has been saying it is so they don’t overload the fall schedule and “put all their eggs in one basket.” But aren’t they doing it anyways by sticking every big show in mid-season? It’s basically reversed this TV season by putting mainly lackluster shows in the fall and big hyped up shows in mid-season. I could be wrong, but I guess we will see come January.
Anyways, I hope that The Office ends. I missed the last couple of episodes, but am catching up and I feel like season 7 was so amazing and the best in years that they can’t possibly out do it. If they can, we’ll see, but I think it may be time to close down Dunder Mifflin/Saber, PA for good.

I think that Parenthood will inevitably be cancelled. The ratings dropped lower with the season 3s premiere and NBC literally has not acknowledged its existence since the pilot aired in spring 2010. No marketing at all for this amazing series that is so unique and at the same level of Friday Night Lights. It’s not coincidence though; they are made by the same people. So I am hoping if Parenthood does get cancelled by NBC, DirecTV will pick it up and make a deal like they did with FNL.

Grimm will no doubt be cancelled. It’s on Fridays at 9pm, competing with the genre veterans Supernatural and Fringe. It’s a shame, because it seems fairly interesting, but it’s just not on a good night and has yet to get any marketing done for it. In-fact, I have yet to see any of NBC’s fall shows be advertized in a wide-spread manner, new and old. I’m not sure what that is about, but it seems like a foolish thing to do. Good luck NBC, you really do need it.

Yeah, I’m amazed they’re holding all those shows back, the ones that seem the most interesting and have generated the most buzz (as much as an NBC show with virtually no advertising can, anyhow) till midseason.

The only show on NBC I’m looking forward to is Grimm, which I’ll have to tape in a separate room, because I’m already taping and watching Supernatural and Fringe at that time. Like you said, it’ll be competing for a sci-fi/fantasy-loving demographic against two of the best sci-fi shows on television currently (certainly the best two I can think of on broadcast stations). Sadly, not even Supernatural and Fringe are doing too well in that time slot this year. Does this mean Grimm has a shot? Will its “procedural” twist give it an edge? Of course not! But that’s likely the way NBC execs will think of it.

Totally with you both on this. Dumbest Suit move in a long time. Why on earth make the audience for genre shows have to do backflips in order to watch three shows we would like to see? I am only able to see Grimm at all because SyFy aired the repeat. I wasn’t home to go in another room – and may not be in the future. Stupid stupid programming move.
