NCIS: Ratings for the 2011-12 TV Season

Here are the latest ratings for the NCIS TV series, the show in which supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team continue to track down the bad guys. The ninth season of NCIS typically airs Tuesday nights at 8pm on the CBS network.

Week two was down just a bit to a 4.2 rating in the demo and 19.51 million. It was once again in first place for the timeslot by a large measure.
Season average: 4.3 demo and 19.73 million.

Episode 09-01 — Tuesday, 9/20/11
It was a strong season debut for Harmon and company. The premiere registered a 4.3 in the 18-49 demographic and 19.96 million viewers. That was a year-to-year improvement of 8% in the demo and the show won its timeslot.

Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 19.75 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
