I can not believe they did this! I absolutely loved that show. It was better than watching all the other crap they have on tv! It’s crazy. I am very mad that they took a half decent show and are probably gonna replace it with all that reality show crap. Fox needs a nice punch to the face, piledrive to the face (Nacho Libre, anyone?)

This was my favorite show. I loved this type or setting for this show. I loved the immortal aspect and the history in the show. I cannot believe that this show was canceled. What a waste. Maybe they will put on another reality show of someone making asses of themselves, just something that we need more of on TV. I hope but I doubt that it will come back but I can only hope.

My husband and I really appreciated this show. Unlike many shows out there filled with so much unneeded garbage or overflowing with political correctness and not so great morals- not saying it was free of that but less in my opinion to other shows-it was just a great show with different twists and a great plot that stretches the imagination-my husband enjoyed the immortal side and idea similar to “Highlander”-unlike some of you. So I do hope that it is brought back somehow.

I was just checking to see when New Amsterdam would be airing again,to my dismay I can’t believe Fox canceled. I all so agree with the no brainer reality shows. I also was checking on another site where they are urging people to phone Fox and let them know how you feel about the cancelation. I’ve already phoned in my concern with the cancelation, as well as banning watching any thing on Fox.

I agree about brain dead reality shows. It doesn’t pay any more to get hooked on a show and hope it stays around. We all should just wait for the shows to hit dvd and watch al the episodes at once. Then at least we know when it will end, and not be disappointed. Or go on line. Good shows die and crappy shows stay on the air.

Was so looking forward to a new season of New Amsterdam. House jumped the shark long ago. Bones is the only show left on Fox that I enjoy. Please don’t mess that one up (they came very close last season)! Fox has truly become a network of the 5th grade intellect. How much longer can reality TV rule? (I hope not much longer). USA and TNT are coming up with more original, clever programming. They at least continue to expect more from an audience than Fox. New Amsterdam will be missed. Hope it shows up somewhere else!

had to delete another great show from my DVR queue, due to the all knowing(hrmmmpf) network execs(idiots) maybe they’ll come up with a really interesting reality show( a dog licking his own stuff would beat most of them)

I’m so bummed. This was a great series. I truly enjoyed watching and couldn’t wait for the next episode. This series was much different from what is usually on tv, which is what made it so great! I hope that the producers will change their mind or maybe some other channel will have some smarts and offer it.

When I read over the lineup for shows this fall, I was shocked to see New Amsterdam was not on that list.
Couldn’t one of the networks get rid of a stupid reality show a bring this quality program back?
My husband and I DVR’d every episode and watched them over again. I sure wish I wouldn’t have erased them!

My wife and I both enjoyed this show. There’s not much on TV that’s worth our time, but we found this show entertaining. We continue to be in the irrelevant demograhic that does not include brain-dead, tasteless reality show fanatics.

I understand that the network executives had creative issues with the show. Since when does one use “network executives” and creative in the same sentence.

At least NBC is bringing “Life” back in the fall!

I will never understand the thinking of network execs. So many excellent shows have been canceled after the first season or two. I am 56 years old, but thoroughly enjoyed such shows as Joan of Arcadia, American Dreams, Journeyman, New Amsterdam, and Cane. I don’t know what “perfect” show NBC, CBS, Fox are searching for, but they sure turn their backs on some fan favorites!

I think if you are looking for someone to help write for you then I would be happy to, I love reading and writing love stories. How hard can it really be? True destiny and a blue collar job that he is very good at, hmmm sounds like life to me. I like real story lines and things that you can actually believe, it captures your attention and wants you to continue watching to see what will come next. The characters are perfect for this show and they have great chemistry. Again if you need a writer for the show then please let me know and I would be happy to help, anything to help keep the show on t.v. PLEASE don’t cancel it.

Why is it that most of your interesting programs are delayed or all together denied us your audience who are the one’s who put food on your tables ( so to speak?).It seems to me that you folks would rather bombard us with shows of **** and lesbians (like if we really need to mingle more in the mire)? , This particular series had interesting characters to say the least and actually left us viewing the entire sequence from week to week,(bravo). Don’t take from us what really counts and that is a story of a quest for true love.After all in this forsaken world we need love,( love is all we need? , remember?)

have no idea what people like.. Fox exec.’s should be serving coffee at Starbuck’s because they sure aren’t qualified to decide network programming. This show had a lot of promise & should not have been canceled..

My husband and I love New Amsterdam! It’s a little different than the 3000 different CSI’s on the air and we were looking forward to seeing what direction they were going to go in (I think his true love is his captain) I liked the glimpses back into history and the twists there. When it wasn’t on the air after the strike was over we were sure Fox was just looking for the best slot… It’s a great show — what does it take to keep a great show on the air!!?

I like that the lead character is so vulnerable. I think that makes him even more attractive to the viewers. I also like the twists and turns of his life as progresses through the many years he has lived. We need more shows like this, one that actually have a great story.

This show is one of the best I have watched in a long time. The story line is excellant which always keeps your attention. There is also a little history lessonal added which is, unique and a special part of the program. This is a show that deserves to become a regular brodcast. Thisshow is a big hit so its a must to keep it running.

How could you tease us! I actually really liked New Amsterdam & was really getting into it
and its replaced with a Bones episode I just don’t like at all! I was a Bones fan last year
what happened, did you hire new writers?
I like American Idol Fox news House Bones & New Amsterdam which has been my favorite

This is one of the most interesting shows on television and it would be tragic is Fox cancels it. It is nice to watch something besides reality shows, which are way, way overdone. this is one of the few shows that i look forward to. why is it every time an interesting one comes on some one nixes it. i have lots of friends and relatives all over who seem to discuss this sometime after each show we have watched.
also i am a big fan of dancing with the stars and don’t mind if i have to turn off the last half hour as this show is great

It has a good storyline, great characters and it transistions between the past and the present rather nicely. I think that the network executive have a hit on their hands as long as they give it a chance. They would be fools to cancel it.

The ads seemed good… but after actually seeing the show, I’m not that interested. Plus, the premise doesn’t really make much sense: how did the Native girl give *him* immortality, but didn’t give it to herself, or her own people? Why aren’t there more immortals running around, ala Highlander?

This show not only has an intriguing presmise, but interesting characters and the ever-wild backdrop of New York City to play off of. If they cancel this show then they are confirming every degrading comment about idiots in monkey suits. Plus, I have read that infernal book “Forever.” The similarities are there, but there’re just that–similarities. In a way it’s like John’s flashbacks…it’s all been done before. At least it’s being done with good acting, great backstory and interesting characters! (Which is more than can be said for “Forever…”)

i have seen the pilot episode and am familar with the book in question. The only thing in common is it takes place in new york city, and that the charector in the tv show is kind of immortal which is not the same as the book.

Fox have been Foxing up any series with imagination for years – never forget Firefly!

Trouble is, it works for them – they have the money to burn and can afford to trash several series each year without blinking.

They take more risks than the other networks – but spend zero time and effort in fixing those that don’t work straight out of the box.

Today’s Fox execs would have scrapped the X-Files after four episodes.

All I have to say is ‘New Amsterdam’ has been ‘FOXed’ and most people who follow TV won’t even have to ask what I mean.

That just shows how sad its getting over there.

Seriouly, someone should organize a mass intervention for FOX and start a support group for those who are suffering from being ‘FOXed’.
